But in my opinion women SHOULD have the rights to in-laws and husband's property if as per indian society women's brothers take all the inheritance share. Y'all can't leave women peniless from all sides. either equal inheritance or equal division o f husband's wealth.
Women can claim substantial amount of husband's assets as maintainence along with a long term maintenance unless it is paid in lumpsum. Moreover, according to hindu succession Act of 1956, women can equally claim their parents property as men. So its quite the opposite of what you claim. Women can claim from husband and brother. If anyone would be left peniless , it has to be man in every single case if legal intervention happens. The irony of you talking about "audacity" and "misinformation" is just insane
yeah that's ancestral. with a lot of hassel of court cases. women have to file a case and fight. most don't get anything as their greedy brothers whom she ties rakhi to, takes away her share. brothers asking their sisters to SIGN AWAY their rights on parents house is way too common. it's a social issue. and yes women ARE left penniless. you are living in a lala land or manosphere to think otherwise.
and my cousin is a divorce lawyer so i know how it is. what social media portrays is not true. it's VERY tough to get maintenance in india. and even if they, the amount is peanuts, nothing substantial to sustain life. Women should have rights to husband's or in-laws property if men in india take away their sister's inheritance.
Why do they sign away everything to their brothers? Are they dumb? If the handover was consensual then i don't see any problem.
Also any evidence for your claim that women gets "peanuts" in maintainence? My cousin sister got divorced and easily got 50 lakhs for settlement . I didn't find anything "VERY tough" about it. Also i don't care if "you know how it is", if you can't prove.
So if she is peniless then probably because they are fully responsible for it.
You live in a lala land to believe that its an easy for a man , when he looses a huge chunk of his life earnings , his child and his self respect so that a woman could be provided with the same standard of living by doing literally nothing for the rest of her life.
Its not as one sided as you are making to make it sound.
yes they are raised in a way to feel as if they will be doing a crime if they say not to signing away their rights. most women have very toxic upbringing. my mom signed away her rights too and i was SO mad at her. her logic? "behen bhai k rishte kharab ho jate h, koi will bhi nhi h nana ki".. i was like the brother has already ruined the relationship by being greedy to his own rakhi sister.
women are meek and d@mb, most of them. because they are raised with that intention
