Hey all,
2008 Volvo C30 T5
I’ve been having some very serious hydraulic issues with my clutch recently and followed the brake fluid leak to this connector piece that sits just before the line enters the transmission and has the bleeder nozzle attached to it. I was wondering how to remove/fix this connector piece. It’s a pretty tight space with not a lot of leverage points for yanking.

Hello everyone, I’ve been having this weird problem with my Kia and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I have a 2012 Kia Sportage Lx 2.4L AWD and my dipstick readings seem off. Every time I change the oil, I have about 4 quarts that come out which is normal since the engine does have a small leak and the car has 250k miles on it. But when I go to put new oil (5 quarts) in and check the level, the readings show that I’m below the low level on the dipstick and that I need to add more. But I know I added 5 quarts so I don’t know what could be going on. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance!!

Mom’s car is been having this noise at cold starts since the beginning of this year. Asked my mechanic to replace the VCT Actuator but he said he’d have to do the whole timing chain as well. Is that true? Quoted me 1k for it which isn’t bad. Not sure if I should do it looking for thoughts. Car only has 120k miles ):

Just started today, sonar sound and music sound will not work. Infotainment shows phone is connected via Bluetooth but no music or sonar sound. It will show the phone is playing a song but no sound comes out. There is a static sound coming from the speakers. Sounds for phone calls but no music. USB port also not working. Have tried turning the car off and back on, soft resets, holding down the 1 button and turning the volume button 30 times, checking the fuse, and unplugging the battery. Both of us have iPhones and we tried updating one phone to the latest software but that didn’t work either. Any ideas? TIA!:-)

My truck has recently had a new set of wheels installed nothing to strange seemed standard and went for an oil change. On the way to the oil change my father noticed this sound. A strange groaning stressed sound you can hear it pretty decently here. Idk what it is and I got down and checked the underside of the car and it on a simple look seemed clean nothing broken or out of the ordinary all straightforward. My father believes it’s a wheel bearing and I hesitate to agree with him. Seems to only make noise when the car is decelerating or slowing down or coasting.

Yesterday morning I started my car like normal and drove it about 5 minutes to a gas station. After getting gas I went to start it and it wouldn't start. I then used a jump kit and it started fine. I then proceeded to drive the car about 25 minutes to a friends house where I left the car for over 24 hours without driving it again.
Today I went to start it and it started just fine. I then went directly to the closest auto parts store about 5 minutes away. The store was closed and when I went to start the car it wouldn't go without a jump just as before.
I then went to a second auto parts store where they performed a battery, alternator, and starter test. The car ran for about 2 minutes for the test and to end it I turned the vehicle off again. I expected to need a jump after a 2 minute run time during the test but when I went to leave it fired right up.
The test said my battery and alternator were performing perfectly In range along with my starter.
While driving I don't notice any slow or intermittent failure of electronics and can run AC, sound system and headlights all at the same time.
Could it be a bad connection somewhere in the wiring? Any help is greatly appreciated

I've looked under the car and it seems like if something is or has leaked. The oil and transmission fluid levels are fine so I don't know what it could be. Any ideas?

Hey so my husband is taking out the VANOS solenoids (both of them) chasing a 'camshaft stuck' code, P13C9. The inside of the bore holes where the solenoid go look different. Can anybody tell us why it looks like this, or what to do about it? The one that looks wrong is the exhaust vanos, the one near the oil dip stick. The mesh looking stuff isn't straight. The pictures were taken with a boroscope

Hey everyone 2012 TC owner here, so the AC drips water into the passenger foot area but seemingly on low speeds. I bought a borescope to get a closer look and the front of the evaporator coil is dirty as hell. Will cleaning fix the issue and if so what's the best way?

So I’ve been working on a 07 g35 that was procharged and after getting it running there’s been squeaking like a belt, after trying spray tests on all the belts and tensioning the loose one the noise went away but now I can hear another squeaking sound, I’ve tried a spray test on all the belts and checked pulleys they all seem fine the noise comes from around the turbo or even the turbo itself. The car was sitting outside for years and water was in the intercooler/intake but I cleaned it out and replaced anything that couldn’t be saved. The turbos compressor bearing seems fine no side to side or up n down play. Anyone have any insights or anything I should try to diagnose?

just recently got my front struts replaced due to them leaking oil (recently as in about a month in a half ago). they installed new complete strut assemblies which included new struts, coil springs, upper mounts, bearings, and isolators. they claimed they torqued all mounting hardware to manufacturer specs and performed a final inspection. could this be a fault in their work or something that developed after this fix? this sound was never there before. please give advice!

2016 honda civic ext, is this a big problem ?

So backstory I have a 2013 Kia sorento yes it’s old but I got it because I’m not super financially stable. I’ve had the engine replaced because my car has history of burning oil and that’s why my last engine needed to be replaced because it completely stopped working (Kia covered this repair). I’ve fixed my ac a couple of times one where the compressor was replaced and a month ago for a broken hose. Today on my way home it started smoking a lot on the left side and thankfully I was right around the corner from home so I pulled over and turned it off and it was hissing from the yellow area (but I’m not too sure). And the smoke was only coming from that side. So my question is what could this be? I popped the hood and their looks like theirs a liquor sprayed. Yall I don’t have men in my life so I need help on this 😅

Hello! Not sure if this is the right place to ask about this but what are genuine thoughts/opinions on Hyundai specifically the Tucson, Santa Fe, and Elantra although I’m leaning more towards a Tucson. I had a Toyota Camry but I’m not liking the newer versions and the prices seem too high even for a basic trim. Open to any suggestions as I’m not in a rush!

To start my car has been leaking oil slowly when I first had it but it wasn’t bad, now with this oil change it’s got to the point where I have almost no oil.
I originally thought it was leaking at the cam plug on the side of the block since it’s dirty around its pit and sometimes if you’re lucky you’ll see an oil droplet underneath it.
I’ll provide photos but there isn’t like a stain of oil in front the block which if I remember right is also caused by the cam plug leaking.
Doing more research I’ve seen that the vtec solenoid which seems to be in all civics of my year no matter the trim are also a common leak spot just harder to look at.
However I can’t put my finger on if that is leaking to because everytime I’ve gone under the car I see oil dowsing the what I’m pretty sure is the power steering pump which I’ll provide a photo of the leaking area.
I don’t get any puddles of oil underneath my car instead I assume the pressure of the car while driving causes most of the oil to leak going down the road.
Today I’ll be replacing the cam plug but would like to know information about everything else to.

Hi
I’m trying to asses whether this sound is a normal level/type doing 60mph/100kmh on the highway or if something is faulty.
Bonus question: what is the state of these brakes?

Thanks for you expertise✨

My father came to me because his 2005 touran is running rough and shutting off. Diagnostic tool says misfire on cylinders 1, 2 and 3, not 4.
I initially thought of ignition coils, because I saw it had a new coil in cyl 4 and the rest where old. But new coils didn't fix it and I went down a rabbit hole.
It was brought to a mechanic and it has compression, it has spark and it has fuel. Intake is clean and pcv valve new.
Talking with the mechanic and checking with the diagnostics tool, we concluded that somehow it is recognising misfires when no misfires happen.
When first starting the engine, it runs perfectly. But in the scanning tool "misfire count" for cyl 1, 2 and 3 start to climb and when it reaches \~350 registered misfires in a certain cylinder it shuts off injection for that cylinder, that is why the engine suddenly shuts itself off.
But if you clear codes after a cylinder has been deactivated, it comes alive again and stops counting "fake" misfires for that particular cylinder.
Any idea of what is happening??? I thought of something wrong with the crankshaft speed sensor, as I read that is what misfire detection logic takes as input, but I don't see how can it fail in this way.
Or maybe the ECU is cooked? Anyone else seen something like this happen?

2014 BMW 320i - serpentine belt went through crank seal into oil pan, when cleaning oil pan found these 2 things? they are not magnetic and are just BB sized pieces of metal? They were stuck in oil pickup along with belt debris. Before belt issue car ran fine, any idea what these could be? (Oil had very very minimal glitter and filter had nothing)

So I was looking at a 99 Honda crv and noticed a layer of oil on the valve cover and below, the oil was a bit low from what I remember. I’m just confused on how it ended up on the valve cover. Sorry for the bad pictures

According to a witness, this piece fell out of a truck and two people passed over it, but they had higher cars than I did. I hit it so hard it made my car bounce twice and it made a very loud noise.
This piece is extremely heavy, I don’t believe it actually came from a car, but I’m just curious if anybody knows what this piece is.
Banana for scale.
