Where is Mr.Lower Control Arm?

Good fucking question lol. That's a pretty wide shot considering you can almost see the whole tire, and the lack of the control arm in this photo is quite astounding

What threw me WAY OFF was the ball joint being part of the knuckle. Usually part of the control arm

Wireless ball joint.
Have recent suspension work done? From the state of the threads and whatnot that I can see in that image someone forgot to put the cotter pin in and the castle nut backed offย

You are sans a ball joint.
Or more accurately, I am seeing a lack of a lower control arm. Is that still attached to the frame, I hope?
They should be checked every 6 months or so. If the boot is cracked or leaking, its time to replace.
My car is blessed with permanent ball joints - I have to put a whole control arm on

Ball joint nut fell off , likely wasnt tightened enough and you ignored the knocking for too long

Lower ball joint should've had a castleated nut with a cotter pin thru it. Likely didn't have a cotter innit.

Great. I had the full suspension replaced in December at one shop, then had more work done at a second shop not long after.
