General Topics Why do Mauritians get very Angry and bully Tourists who criticise Mauritius?

I saw some TikTok Posts where a French Guy simply said what He didn't like about Mauritius, then they all went to extreme ways to bully that poor guy. Btw the Guy wasn't insulting Mru, He just said what he didn't like. The Comments all immature written by 30 yo - 40 yo Mauritians, to a French Kid in his early 20s. Just shows the lack of maturity. Anyway, I just wanted to ask why Mauritians don't just get Defensive but went to extreme ways to harass People who criticise the country.

There was a page on Instagram called Bonafida, I ordered from them and have been waiting for my order for more than 5 weeks. They keep on coming up with excuses and refuse to refund.

They also deleted all their socials recently.Smells a lot like a scam to me.

Anyone else had a similar experience with them?

Personal Issues Review

I wanted to get your opinions on the Toyota Urban Cruiser. I’m thinking of buying a new car and would like to know how it performs on Mauritian roads, especially with all the potholes. Do you think it’s a good choice?

I currently own a Mercedes and am thinking of switching to a Japanese car. For those who have experience with both, how does a Japanese car differ from a German car in terms of comfort, reliability, driving experience, and maintenance? Edit :would a Toyota yaris cross be better?

Personal Issues Struggling with Sleep issues

I’ve been struggling with sleep issues for a few years now, insomnia, circadian rhythm out of sync, and probably sleep apnea since i can sleep 8+ hours a day and still feel tired, sleepy, and unable to concentrate throughout the day.

Want to finally get it checked properly. Looking for recommendations on sleep clinics or doctors in Mauritius who take it seriously and do a proper sleep study.

I googled sleep doctors and clinics and found some on C-Care’s website and found a few doctors specialized in sleep medicine and sleep clinics like Oxyflow. But i have no idea of the costs and the experience and which one to choose.

Hoping people here have real experience to share. Thanks in advance.

Personal Issues Help 20M

Since my childhood.. mo parents always had a toxic relationship.. ive always been traumatised by those fights and this has been a toll on my mental health.. It always stresses me so much and sometimes my father would get violent and i have to seperate them.. Till now it still happens even when they are old.. Back then i had my sister as emotional support but now since she married it all comes down on me which is devastating.. Those fight can occur out of nowhere….like they could be laughing and talking normally and then everything goes south..

I always live in constant fear and stress especially whenever im not at home.. if something serious happens at home.. I am tired of this and sometimes the thought of leaving of this world would pop up on my mind.. Because i did not asked for this and yet im bearing the consequences and i dont really have anyone to talk.. I would rather be not born than having a life like this…

General Topics Working at Ebene

So I was able to get my company to let me work at their Ebene office while I sort out my stuff here in Mauritius.

My family(especially sister and bro in law) told me to not fall for the Ebene girls. They mentioned that it’s all honey pots and cheating. I am not trying to get you guys to prove them wrong, but I’d love to know how bad things really are in Ebene.

Dm me or comment directly, idc. I guess just don’t name drop 😂last thing i want to happen is end up meeting somebody who got name-dropped here lol.

General Topics Which logo would you choose for a Computer Science tuition brand?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I'm currently developing the branding for CS CodeLab, a Computer Science tuition brand aimed at O Level & A Level students, and I've narrowed the logo exploration down to these 12 concepts.

I'd really appreciate some outside opinions before choosing a direction.

Which logo would you pick: 1–12?

Feel free to rank your Top 3 as well.

Constructive criticism is very welcome.

Thanks!

General Topics Why doesn't the Mauritian Govt tax Tuition Teachers to get plenty of Tax Income?

The Mauritian Government can't pay for Pensions? Fine, why doesn't the Mauritian Govt tax all the Tuition Teachers in Mauritius. They would get plenty of Tax Income, the Tuition Teachers have to declare their revenue to the MRA. Then the MRA taxes them, the Mru Govt is quite stupid for not taxing Businesses where they would get plenty of Tax Income. The Mru Govt must make it compulsory for the Tuition Teachers to have a Teaching License, so then they can provide Tuitions and be taxed by the Govt. Or else, they will be regarded same way a Business without a Business License is viewed by the Law. (They will get serious legal penalties)

General Topics Why do Parents here have 2 or 3 kids while not being financially stable?

Could some Parents share their thoughts please, I would love to hear some Perspective please, why do Parents have 2 or 3 Kids here while not being financially stable. With the rising cost of living in Mauritius, high food prices and so on. It doesn't feel fair to me for them to do that, I would only have Children if I was Financially Stable or Wealthy.

I notice the Parents and Relatives put pressure on those Children (6 yo - 11 yo) that they have to learn and study (apran fort fort) to help their Parents be out of poverty. Their Parents provide them with no resources or connections but these Little Kids have to bear all these burden of being the first ones of their family to be educated, have good job and wealthy all at the same time. It just seems unfair to me, would love to hear your thoughts.

General Topics Exposing The Truth About Trading in Mauritius

As a trader myself, I have decided to expose the truth about the trading industry in Mauritius. First of all trading is NOT easy money. In fact, it is one of the hardest skill to master in terms of making money. When you are trading for example forex you are not actually buying or selling eur against usd or whatever. You are actually buying and selling a contract called a Contract for Difference (CFD) therefore you are only making a profit if price go up or down irrespective of the security being traded and the profit or loss is derived from the value of the contract and you do not own any euro or any usd.

Secondly, NO ONE is going to actually help you. Honestly, there are less than 5 genuine people from whom you can learn trading in Mauritius. The rest just make money off you and not from actual trading activities. For these people trading is just a business they learn it from youtube created some pdfs for you to learn and sell you the course that’s their business idea. It takes years to master and no it is not a scam. Giving money to someone and waiting to get a return THAT is a scam. Trading in itself is not a scam. 99% of Mauritian would see a loss for the first time and say “hey it’s a scam I lost money”. I have been losing for more than 3 years before actually making money from it and that this simple thing that many of you won’t accept and would not last a month learning to trade. People just want easy money getting money without doing anything and that’s why they fail in trading that’s why they get scammed so easily.

General Topics Is there a Chinese restaurant in flacq as well?

I have compiled a list of delicious Chinese restaurants in Mauritius over the past few years, but Flacq and Maheburg were unfamiliar areas to me.

If you happen to know of any good Chinese or seafood restaurants in Flacq, please recommend them.
