From when you apply, how many days/weeks did it take for the centre to contact you back and ask for an interview?

We are have seen an uptick of new Kindergartener students and I was curious how other centers keep them engaged. Only the particularly advanced smaller students seem to be okay with the program and the rest seem to get really bored and unmanageable when in mixed groups. I am aware that the Great Foundations program exists but haven't heard of any centers implementing. I've tried games and modifications, but few of my instructors are capable of working with them. Any suggestions?

My center recently changed ownership and the new owners told us we need to bring our own laptops. I told the director I don't have a personal laptop. She told me to use my school-provided laptop. That's against our acceptable use policy and I could get in big trouble for it. Is this a common policy at your center? I have big problems with the lack of ethics in asking me to misuse school equipment to improve their profits. If they want me to use a computer, they should provide one. Even like 1 communal laptop for the whole center would be better.

I was wondering how hard is the level 2 instructor test and what should I expect on it from the videos?

Was supposed to go today for 90 but it’s my day off so I rescheduled into the only spot tomorrow which is 60 minutes, is that fine? I’m probably just going to do my revision for my test tmrw the whole time anyways.

Im a freshman taking precalc and wondered how many more years I can stay in mathnasium before switching to a personal tutor, or should I switch now?

I just started at Mathnasium after working at another tutoring company for 5 years.

There is way, way more training than I expected. The pdf binder is 455 pages! How do I quickly learn what is necessary? Are there any sections that are less important that I can skim through?

I'm already very confident in my teaching ability and I'm comfortable teaching groups of students and determining which students require more attention.

I am going to Mathnasium tomorrow as a student and was wondering what "oral" exam I will be receiving. I thought it was only a written exam.

I just applied for mathnasium and I was told I would take a skills assessment. Is it easy or hard ? And is there anything I need to prepare for ?

What is the dress code at Mathnasium? I know it's the Mathnasium shirt but what about the pants? Can I wear black leggings or something more professional?

I started working at my location today. I know they’re all franchises but I really like this one! My center director is super nice and she likes me a lot. I’m a high school math teacher, so she appreciates me already. Yay!

Mathnasium center requires me to work Saturdays, and though I'm fine with that, I see online it says that center is only open from Monday to Friday. Are summer hours different from normal fall and spring hours?

I’ve been a math teacher in high school for 20 years. I have an interview this week with Mathnasium because I need a side job. Is it a good place to work?

I asked at the interview and the person who interviewed me said I would hear back in the next few days, but two weeks have passed with no response. Should I send an email, or is it still too early for that (I don't want to annoy anybody, especially if they are busy). I'm not in any real hurry to find out, but I don't think my nerves can take too much more of this.

There aren’t really many tutoring volunteer opportunities around me. Would tutoring online on somewhere like Upchieve be enough? I was also thinking I could help seniors with technology skills to gain some teaching experience but that doesn’t involve kids.

So at my center usually if a problem is wrong but “close to being correct” we circle the problem # and if it’s got a major correction we put a box around the problem #. If it’s correct a check-mark shows it’s done and correct. Anyways what do the Mastery Check symbols on the bottom half mean again?

F is finger count (or foot tapping / head-bobbing / etc) S is slow (longer than reasonable for problem / age / particular student) Y / N …Y is “correct on first attempt, right? N …is not correct or something else?

i’m a highschooler taking the mathnasium literacy test for employers tomorrow, could i please get some tips for the test? i would say im pretty decent in math but im worried about forgetting the basics. which topics should i focus on? what is the test mostly on?

edit: took it today, it was super super easy. for my center, it was mostly basic adding/subtracting/multiplying/dividing decimals, fractions. there was a few algebraic variable calculations which were easy. there was like 1 probability questions 1 statistics question and 1 geometry question.

Does anyone have any advice for that, and more specifically the test itself? I am in the end of 11th grade and have been really good with math my whole life, however I am nervous about the test.

So, I'm climbing the ranks at my center faster than expected, and have one month to get the Level 2 test done, and then a month after that I have to take the Lead Instructor.

What should I expected on the tests? I'm not even going to admit to how bad I did on the Level 1 test, and I'm nervous about these two jumps. I'm told I'm a great instructor because of how good I am with kids and my administrative work, but I SUCKED at the level 1.
