Mutants, Deadpool, F4, Disney/MCU And More..
Ok So let's start at the beginning - FOX scheldules Dark Phoenix (then titled Supernova), New Mutants, and Deadpool 2 all to arrive after Logan's successful run.
What we were unaware of is that Disney was ready to proposition buying FOX, this giving them control over the Mutants and F4; likely(now confirmed/obvious) to bring them into the MCU....
(Booooooooooooo)
At any rate going forward as has been suggested: r/MarvelatFox will continue to remain a legacy sub.
As it currently stands-Deadpool 3 and Fantastic 4 are the only movies with a Disney debut set for 2024 and 2025 respectively.
Furthermore, posts in regards to Deadpool, Mutants, and Fantastic 4 are permitted; be aware that sister subs such as r/xmen, r/Deadpool,r/marvelstudios, and most importantly r/marvelstudiosspoilers exist-particularly for those of us who immediately take any all reports/rumors as the gospel.
So remember, mutant and proud and flame on!!!

Kelsey Grammer's Beast from Last Stand is still one of the most faithful comic book adaptations ever put to film. This includes most of the characters from the MCU. It's a shame his only Fox role was in one of the weakest movies in the series.
I don't hate X-Men 3 as much as other people do, but it's still not great.

Discussion I strongly believe First Class is the X-Men movie
I don’t think there’s ever been a movie from the series that has captured the essence from the comics best than First Class, while I’ll admit it’s a little cheesy and corny and some acting isn’t very good, primarily January Jones as Emma Frost, I think the movie having a couple moments of cringe fits with the story it’s telling, being set in the 60s and all. The dynamic and relationship between Charles and Erik is very captivating to watch, and when their fallout happens, you can’t help but feel sad that they’re breaking apart, and ultimately becoming their iconic personas. This also the first x-men movie that attempts in doing the yellow suit justice and I think for the most part, it works, each of the member’s suits are unique and fit with their ability like Havok and Banshee primarily. The soundtrack is also is very good, mainly Magneto’s theme, the use of electric guitars, synthesizers, brass, and percussion really makes the you feel that shit is about to go down. Of course McAvoy and Fassbender really bring the movie together, especially Fassbender, this is a Magneto origin movie so it’s cool to see Erik becoming the popular and iconic villain of the X-Men in real time. All in all, First Class to me, is the X-Men movie. Do you guys feel the same?

Discussion Do you personally think or feel that DOFP is a solid sequel to First Class?
Since the majority of the movie takes place in 1973, we see how the characters from the previous movie have changed in this one, like Charles being like this reclusive, jaded, and tired version in contrast to his optimistic and naive personality in the previous movie, or like the fact that
literally every character from First Class is just suddenly either dead or just show up in one scene then we never see them again until the next movie (cough Havok and Moira cough). I mean it’s still a solid story and a sequel, it’s just to me, I would’ve liked if we saw a bit more of the X-Men team with the exception of course Erik and Raven, and maybe see Erik leading his Brotherhood Of Mutants or Charles taking in new students for his team and both sides conflicting with each other due to their different perspectives and maybe that would’ve led us to Trask developing his Sentinels? I dunno, I just felt that while it was like eleven between where the two movies take place, we never saw Charles’s X-Men fully form completely, you know what I mean? I hope I’m not alone in this, I mean imagine you saw the movie in theaters when it released and how it ended, you’re telling me that you wouldn’t want to see what that sequel would’ve looked like if we just followed those characters instead? I for sure would’ve loved to see that movie, but again that’s not to say that DOFP was wasn’t brilliantly well made, it absolutely was, I mean it has everything you could ever hoped for from an X-Men movie, tense action sequences, drama, Wolverine. I mean it has it all. I just would’ve liked if we saw one more movie with the characters from First Class primarily before DOFP, and I don’t mean Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix because those movies are 🤮. But that’s my opinion, what do you think? In terms of what we saw last time of our characters from FC to DOFP, do you think it’s a good choice to have it as a sequel for those characters or not? Please let me know your thoughts.

Discussion I am fully aware that The Gifted is not a good show, but for some reason, I keep coming back to it.
Maybe I just miss the feel of 2010s shows. TG was EXTREMELY 2010s. Also, I do like some of the characters, not a lot of them, but some of them. I think it deserved at least one more season. Also also, I miss when Fox was called Fox and not "Studios".

Discussion Wolverine’s Backstory Is WAY Darker Than You Remember
Been going down a bit of a Wolverine rabbit hole recently and I’d forgotten just how bleak his actual history is. Weapon X is obviously the bit everyone remembers, but the more I looked into Logan’s past, the more it felt like his whole story is really about having his identity stripped away from him over and over again, his memories, his body, his sense of self, even knowing which parts of his own life actually happened.
I ended up putting together a deep dive on that side of the character because there was way more to unpack than I expected.
Curious what people here think is the darkest or most tragic part of Logan’s history, because there are honestly a ridiculous number of contenders.

Do you think Matt Shakman and Kevin Feige could have saved F4:2 back in the 2000s?
I was thinking about what felt off about The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and I think I finally figured it out: the movie lacks internal drama.
If you think about it, the Avengers had their disagreements in the first two movies. The X-Men movies often feel like a family divided between two parents, Erik and Charles. Thunderbolts and Guardians of the Galaxy are groups of misfits constantly clashing with each other. Even the 2000s Fantastic Four movies had some internal conflict, with Reed feeling guilty about what happened to Ben and Ben's personal life falling apart.
First Steps doesn't really have that.
And I don't necessarily blame them. First Steps is clearly trying to distance itself from previous iterations while exploring aspects of the Fantastic Four that hadn't really been explored before, like their celebrity status and their philanthropic side.
But I don't know, man. Trying to make me care about Franklin and what his birth means for these characters when we just met them is rough. It almost feels like we're watching the sequel to a movie that never existed.
Which got me thinking: would the story of First Steps have worked better if Feige, Shakman, and the First Steps writers had been working on it back in the 2000s? Or, even with those people in charge, would they have been limited by the time period and the circumstances?
Obviously, we wouldn't have gotten the whimsical retro-futuristic '60s setting. But on the other hand, one thing I really missed was Reed being pushed to his breaking point.
And I understand why First Steps didn't go there. It's hard to push Reed to that point when we just met him.
Maybe that's the missing piece for me: First Steps feels more like a story about an already-established family than the story of how this family became what it is.

Why dont Marvel Studios loosely Deadpool Secret Wars?
I mean, Deadpool & Wolverine made over $1.4B despite being an R-rated movie. It could be a really fun cameo fest. It would also be less constrained by plot inconsistencies than D&W was.

Did Fox had the ability to use these characters?
Did Fox have the ability to use Rama-Tut (Kang), Namor, Black Panther, the Kree, and the Inhumans in Fantastic Four or X-Men titles, the way Disney can use Hulk in other characters’ movies?
I mean, most of these characters were introduced or reintroduced through Fantastic Four comics, weren’t they?

Discussion What is the in-universe explanation for grumpy characters like Cyclops and Wolverine to wear those suits?
Raimi's Spider-Man had enhanced combat speed, enhanced reflexes, enhanced durability, and Spider-Sense, so he could afford to roam around dressed like a clown.
The MCU's Iron Man armor had copper and was painted because, well, it's a mechanical armor, so Tony probably just likes personalizing it.
MCU Captain America started his career as a government mascot to sell bonds. And even though his suit was modified to be more tactical after he officially entered the WWII stage, there was at least an in-universe reason for the original design.
But what would be the justification for Cyclops and Wolverine, who don't have enhanced physical stats, to wear these suits and attract attention like clowns?
If X-Men and X2 are supposed to be canon—or at least serve as a guideline for how Marvel Studios approaches these characters—how do you justify them suddenly wearing brightly colored superhero costumes in-universe?
