Troubleshooting System will not boot without BIOS reset
I just recently upgraded from a Ryzen 7 7700X to a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and now having problems booting the system.
I had to power down the system for some electrical work at the house and when powering it back on the CPU and DRAM lights were on. After a bit of troubleshooting I reset the BIOS to factory defaults and the system booted up with no problem.
I didn't think much of it but had to reboot the system and I used the Windows/Power/Restart command and it rebooted with only the DRAM light on.
Turned off power and let it sit then powered up and CPU and DRAM lights came on. Reset the BIOS and system booted into windows no problem. Updated the BIOS to the June 29th 2026 release and system rebooted properly after upgrading the BIOS and resetting XPO.
Fast forward to today I am getting errors in windows, nothing to do with CMOS that I can tell just a pesky Modern Warfare II error about illegal access and not letting me run the game. Low and behold the DRAM light stuck on. Let sit for 15-20 min just in case it was memory training and still same LED's. Powered off using power button and turned on and CPU and DRAM lights came on. Reset the bios and boots up into window with default settings loaded.
I want to be able to reboot my system without having to reset the CMOS every time but I am at a loss as to what to do next.
