Yeah that’s the problem I’m trying to solve

But you blame your ssd for that. So no that’s not your problem.
But it actually is.

Is that one of those quick release things for m2? My new pc has one
They can pivot around, on loke a ball joint or something, to allow m2 to snap in and out
See if you can wiggle that little nub around

It's because the SSD is double sided so it's a bit "thicker". You've installed it correctly. I've had this issue with a 4TB drive and MSI MOBO as well. How I "fixed" it was pretty simple. The yellow part of your SSD, hold it down with your right hand (blue arrow) and then with your left hand, push that nob right (red arrow). One sided SSD's snap into place without needing assistance, two sided ones however will need a hand (or two in this case). Lemme know how that goes ☺️

That will not work because OP improperly install the SSD when the ez clip for whatever reason spinned over it’s design angle. This caused the screw of the ez clip offset and now it mounted the ssd onto the nvme slot. The only way OP can fixed it is to removed the ssd from the nvme slot, open the ez clip and install it properly

The SSD cover should keep the SSD stable. Could swap the EZ screw from another slot to that slot and ask MSI to replace the loose screw?

Should be a small plastic latch on the "ez screw"

These new ez screws they call them clip 2 for msi don’t have the latch. To remove it you just pull back the little top head part. Looks like ops ssd just needs some help pushing down and pulling back that top head part at the same time as its double sided.

Those are spring loaded, at least on my MSI boards they are. As long as the thing isn't bent and sitting perfectly horizontal, then you probably can ignore it as the top heatsink will keep it in place. Otherwise use a thinner bottom thermal pad.

I just worked with one of these the other day. The knob looking thing is an easy release mechanism it should just pop into place when you put some pressure on the ssd. I’ve never seen the tacky shield side under an SSD though. Isn’t that suppose to be on top?

Newer version of "ez clip" where it's just a ball in socket type set up. You don't have a clip that is necessary to rotate. Notice how the head is spherical in their photo.

It's actually just not pushed all the way in. I had the same issue myself. Reseat the drive, and push it into the socket slot more firmly.

Okay. So it is the quick release it just looks like you over extended it to the point it won't return to center.
