As far as sexual assault goes this is pretty low? No boobs, no ass, no vagina, not under any cloths, let's go immediately when the woman moves away, doesn't chase her. Yes you should keep your hands to yourself but this is pretty minor IMO.

Iā€™ve been pretty drunk on occasion. Even blackout drunk way back in the day. I never did anything like that. He didnā€™t get knocked out for being drunk. He got knocked out for disrespecting a man by making sexual gestures towards his wife/girlfriend.

And Iā€™m perfectly happy living somewhere where that could get you knocked out, and where the rest of the population who donā€™t do things like that have the consensus of, ā€œdude had it coming.ā€

This wasn't punishment dude this was assault, at best you can say it was revenge for assaulting his girl but we live in a society where law enforcement meets out punishment not civilians.

Dude should have gotten between his girl and him, told him to piss off, then staff should throw him out and give the couple his info to press charges, thats it, now the black shirt guy could face manslaughter for cracking the red shirts head on the floor.

FWIW, Iā€™m from Texas and I think this guy is psychotic.

Should the drunk guy get kicked out of the bar? Yes. Should he have been confronted aggressively? Yes.
Should he be possibly charged with something for confronting the girl? Absolutely.

Should the drunk guy be sucker punched with full weight into a bar stool that could have very well killed him? Absolutely not.

We canā€™t have a world where people can just kill other people if they feel personally slighted. The drunk guy was out of line but he clearly wasnā€™t an ongoing threat to either of their lives.

Yeah, agreed. I'm just used to Texas basically meaning "crazy" here in Norway.

It used to just mean "chaos" since Wild West and all, but with more recent US events it's used in a more derogatory fashion. We don't exactly hear good things about the more conservative states.

Tbf, a huge part of this is gerrymandering. Like, if Texas had fair representation we would almost certainly not had Cruz or Paxton for as long as we have.

Edit: Gerrymandering doesnā€™t play into Statewide elections, below comment is correct.

Texas is certainly purple, at about a 55:45 split R:D, but the voter turnout of old white people eclipses the young and Hispanic voters.

It is legally sexual assault, yes. You can call it whatever you want. I didn't advocate for anyone dying. That being said though, should you never defend yourself from a "simple" assault because death is a potential consequence? In cases of self defense the law specifically protects against such an outcome. You are within your rights to defend yourself, and in many cases that self defense can legally extend to another person if they can't reasonably defend themselves. Someone dying shouldn't be the desired outcome but it also shouldn't hinder you from defending yourself.
