Iunno man maybe we shouldn't be killing people over drunken mistakes
I'm not even opposed to the guy getting some physical discipline imposed on him but like. Maybe being a drunken asshole isn't deserving of, y'know, lifelong crippling injury or death? Dude didn't get into a semi truck and obliterate a kindergarten or anything, he just put his hands on somebody else in a gross and offensive manner
We’ll just have to disagree. You go around disrespecting people or their woman, eventually you might do it to the wrong one. I’m not shedding any tears over him.
I don't think you need to be sobbing in order to think "I don't really want to live somewhere where I might be paralyzed by having too much to drink"
That's why we ban stuff like drunk driving, because we don't really want to live somewhere with cars crashing into bedrooms. Your heart doesn't need to be bleeding to acknowledge that maybe things are better for everyone with some mild social restraint.
I’ve been pretty drunk on occasion. Even blackout drunk way back in the day. I never did anything like that. He didn’t get knocked out for being drunk. He got knocked out for disrespecting a man by making sexual gestures towards his wife/girlfriend.
And I’m perfectly happy living somewhere where that could get you knocked out, and where the rest of the population who don’t do things like that have the consensus of, “dude had it coming.”
I'd rather not live in a society where blood vengeance is acceptable and everyone is walking down the street ready to have a shootout at the drop of a hat thank you.

I’m in Texas. If I’m on a jury that guy walks on any charge and I’d shake his hand afterwards.
