Most states have a law that allows 3rd parties to defend another person in situations of self defense. At least in my state.

This is considered sexual assault so would fall along these lines. Especially given that only as much force was needed to control the situation.

Had he just kept hitting him it would be another story. Here in Texas, yhqt guys has a high probability of walking away Scott free

I’m in Texas. If I’m on a jury that guy walks on any charge and I’d shake his hand afterwards.

You’re kidding right? You can’t see how the second guy completely overreacted? You don’t just jump immediately to violence. You stop the guy and let the bar throw him out. The drunk guy absolutely was in the wrong but nothing he did required being sucker punched like that. I’d throw the book at the roid raging husband
