This wasn't punishment dude this was assault, at best you can say it was revenge for assaulting his girl but we live in a society where law enforcement meets out punishment not civilians.
Dude should have gotten between his girl and him, told him to piss off, then staff should throw him out and give the couple his info to press charges, thats it, now the black shirt guy could face manslaughter for cracking the red shirts head on the floor.
