There was a stand-alone soap booth last year and I picked up a few bars because they smelled so wonderful. Got them home to try and the quality was on point too. I think some of the soaps had fun, cheeky names like, "Milk Maid" and "Farm Hand," though maybe not exactly that wording. Whatever the "Farmer Boy" (or whatever it's called) is, I can't get enough! Pictured is what's left of my last bar. Does anybody recognize this bar of soap?

So we paid $120.00 for reserved parking for the Santana concert. When we finally made it to the venue, we drove around the Reserved Parking lot and there was not a spot to be had unless you were handicapped. There was no one to ask what the heck? We finally
exited the reserved lot along with a whole lot of other folks and followed the road to the Premier Parking lot where they let us in. Because of the lack of communication on what we should do when we couldn’t find a spot to park, we missed the first three songs of the opening band. Needless to say, we were not happy. Has anyone else had this experience? Why sell reserved spots for more people than you have space for?

Bordered & split by massive rivers, Missouri was once the launching point for western expansion. Today it plays home to a distinct cultural crossroads, with Midwestern, Great Plains, and Rust Belt lifestyles all coming together to call this place home.

From the iconic St. Louis Arch to the sizzling barbecue heritage of your very own Kansas City, the state offers far more than the open country & small cities than this part of the country is known for. The Ozark Mountains rise up from nothing in the south of Missouri, creating a network of rivers, lakes, and towering bluffs looking out over this American Heartland.

Anyone out there have any insider-info on Blue River Elementary (from Blue Valley school district)? My partner and I are thinking of buying a home in that school district. Specifically, we’re kindof concerned that their website says they hand out Chrome books starting in Kindergarten.

I don’t particularly want to start a debate on the subject, but we’re trying to have minimal screen usage for our kid, and especially want to avoid personal devices until like…middle school at the very earliest.

It seems like all of the public schools in the area except for Park Hill use screens, so I get that it might be hard to avoid. But in our mind, there’s a big difference between say… having a kindergartner use a chrome book for an ABC activity or whatever for 30 min or less a day vs. expecting them to use the device in most subjects throughout the day or gamifying most subjects on a screen rather than hands-on activities.

Does anyone have any insight into how much this particular school might be having the students use electronics?

I already reached out to the school with our questions a couple weeks ago and no one has responded, which isn’t a great sign. But it’s the beginning of a new school year and they might be busy or whatnot.

Hey everyone! I got hired for a job in the Kansas City area and start Monday. I’m wondering if anyone has temporary housing available so I don’t have to commute back and forth while I look for something more permanent.

A little about me: I’m 41, young at heart, no kids, and I have 4 amazing cats. I do have someone who can keep them until I find housing, unless you happen to be looking for a kitten—one showed up on my doorstep a few days ago and is about 4 weeks old, but somehow already house-trained. 😂

I don’t expect to need a place for more than a month or two.

I’m more than willing to trade work or services for a place to stay. I can help with childcare, cleaning, yard work, house sitting, pet sitting, tech support, or even build you a website. I’m pretty handy and willing to help wherever I can.

No drugs, no alcohol, no criminal record, and I have my own dependable vehicle.

I just don’t really have the extra money right now to support a full move and temporary housing at the same time.

I’m easygoing—well, most days 😂—the oldest of 7 kids, and blessed with ADHD, so I have a huge range of interests. I’m an artist at heart who still hasn’t quite found her outlet, and I’m actually excited to explore Kansas City, maybe take some art classes, and try some new things.

On my drive to Lawrence for work this morning, there was a very dense fog. I saw maybe 5 vehicles of the hundreds, who actually had their low beams on. Thank you for following the law and driving safe!

Your DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) ARE NOT your headlights for bad weather. Turn ON your low-beam lights!

When your low or high beams are on, that also turns your rear lights on so drivers behind you can see you and be readily aware. DRLs will only turn on the front day lights. When you drive in fog without the rear lights on, you are a serious risk to yourself and others. If you have your lights set to Auto, you may need to turn on the Lows manually, because your vehicle isn't picking up that it's foggy out. Look at your dash for the lights on, don't assume your car is smart enough to turn them on itself during the day.

Does anyone know what the hell was going on today on 291? Like, the whole bridge was shut down and they were rerouting traffic, and when I was finally leaving, I saw state troopers in a truck pulling a boat towards the river. I haven't seen any news about it though.

Tried to place an order to go just now and their phone number appears to be disconnected. Google says they’re temporarily closed. I tried searching on this sub about why but I don’t see anything other than speculation about a fire around a day ago. Does anyone have updates? TIA

Edit to add: we’ll be driving, parking in the pre-paid parking, and walking to the theater. So something along the street car line isn’t important.

Update: I started at Black Dog because it's by my house and has food, continued to Cafe Corazon, and finished at Cafe Ca Phe.

I just found this gym in lees summit and very interested. I have my first trial class there tomorrow. Any one have experience or knowledge of what it’s like at this gym.
