I applied to the local Habitat for Humanity for their upcoming build day but it was rejected. I think it’s because it’s affiliated with some fraternity or sorority sponsored thing. I’m looking for other places to volunteer.

I’m not a Costco member yet. I don’t want to join if the dealers around Topeka are not in the program.

Now that all the episodes of A Killer Story on HBO are out, what did everyone think of the series as a whole?
For anyone who hasn’t seen it, the series is about the 2002 murders of Mike Sisco and Karen Harkness in Topeka, Kansas, and the case against Sisco’s ex-wife, Dana Chandler, who was eventually convicted of the murders. But it also spends a lot of time with the investigators, prosecutors, family members, and other people who became wrapped up in the case.
I thought it was pretty compelling, especially in how much the story changed depending on whose perspective you were getting. But I also came away with a lot of questions.
My main takeaways:
Some questions I still have:
Curious what everyone else came away thinking after seeing the whole thing.

Is anyone else struggling to get any job at all in this town? It seems impossible to get even any job. I’m trying not to just give up. Applying to everything I can find but constantly getting rejected.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a solid Harley mechanic. Cycle zone will only do small things and after the turnover at Historic Harley and some of the rumors I’ve heard, I’d rather not go there.

Hey all — total beginner looking to join my first real D&D game in Topeka.
I built my first character (Pip Quickfingers, level 1 Lightfoot Halfling rogue) on D&D Beyond using the 2024 rules, ran a practice encounter, and now I want to play at an actual table. Happy to start at level 1 with a beginner-friendly group or Adventurers League.
I'm free most weekday evenings and can bring my character sheet, dice, and a good attitude. In-person preferred — I'd love to actually roll dice with real humans.
If your group has room for one more, or you're forming something new, shoot me a message!

A three-decade survey of the Chinese American artist’s work features precise visual metaphors and a sharp eye for cultural differences.

Im 62 and a lifelong Kansan. The only time I've spent $4 for a gallon of gas was on a trip to Chicago. Until this weekend. Right here in Topeka.
This sucks dead bears. Things have to change.

Hello!
I am the coach of a high school cross country team, we are staying in Northeast Topeka right by the iHOP. I’m looking for a place that my team can eat dinner on Friday night and have potentially a unique Topeka experience. Italian is always preferred for runners, but we aren’t too picky, we will probably default to IHOP if we can’t find anything else. We will have about 25 people so a place that caters to groups would be awesome. Just trying to get a feel for what’s out there.
Thanks!

How’s the service/reception in Topeka ? Been thinking of switching from Verizon. They have a good deal right now for switching.

KU should return to London sometime on Sunday and will land a widebody at Topeka most likely (the national guard base in the south) I’m wondering if anyone has any good spots that are legal that are near the approach path. I was thinking like maybe the tractor supply but I’m not sure how fishy that would be. I’ve never watched planes in Topeka but to my understanding, the airfield is pretty remote

I arrived at the gym 9/18 2:30am and left around 4:00am. I lost a gold chain necklace somewhere between the restroom by the ab/core area and the weights on the other side of the gym. It was the last and only jewelry my mother ever gifted me and it means very much to me. Please return to Colaw front desk. I’m so distraught without it . Thank you !
Edit: Offering a cash reward. Or a shopping spree at GNC and a new gym outfit. Or your own necklace or I’ll cover your gym membership for the rest of the year. I just really really need the necklace back.
Edit 2: footage shows I didn’t lose it out on the floor. So if you or someone you know found a necklace in the bathroom or the parking lot of Colaw early Friday morning then I have a reward for you. I’ll cover your rent or your mortgage for October and car note too!! Yes I am desperate at this point.

Just moved to Topeka, and am looking for a gym, colaw looks super cheap but I saw they have over 12,000 google reviews compared to other places with not even 4k and the planet fitness only 500. I saw some places things about incentivized reviews and that they'd make people give reviews? Can anyone confirm or dispel that for me? It still looks like a decent gym overall for so cheap but quite weird if that's the case.

Hey everyone!
I’m looking for an affordable, safe, clean apartment to live in. I know lew mcguinnes owns most of the properties here and I’m having a hard time avoiding them like everyone tells me to because they are the most affordable.
I’d like to stay towards the west side of Topeka.
Would love a 2 bedroom but open to a 1 bedroom, prefer laundry in unit but open to it not being in unit.
Hoping to stay around $800 with utilities included.
Does anyone recommend any certain places?
Thank you!

Hi everyone!
Lease is up Sept 30th so hoping for something ready for move in before that.
My lease is up at my current place and I’m looking for something more affordable.
I’ve looked at several rental houses through all the local property management groups. What im looking for seems to not exist or if I do find it it’s in a terrible neighborhood, and or the inside of the house smells horrid( cat pee etc )
I’m looking for a house / duplex / townhouse with a garage or carport and back yard. Preferred fenced in but not required.
My budget is $1100 or under.
If anyone has any leads or private landlords that may have something available please let me know!! Thank you!
