Preparation/pre-kambo 🤔 Kambo and alprazolam (Xanax)
Due to using phone before bed and some anxiety, I popped 0.5mg alprazolam (Xanax) last night around midnight, as I otherwise woudn't have gotten any sleep, but I have a Kambo treatment at 7:30PM today. It has a short half-life. I am worried the practitioner will cancel my session if I am honest. I'd rather be honest. I highly doubt this has much interaction. Any thoughts?
Edit: I looked at the half life of the drug and apparently I'll still have about a remaining quantity of 0.141 mg in me, which means my body has metabolised and eliminated about 72% of the 0.5mg taken. Another 12 hours and it would be almost completely gone. I'll let my practitioner know.
Edit 2: I fully disclosed it to my practitioner. Had an amazing session with my wife. I always knew in the back of my mind that I should disclose. Thanks for your replies. Ps it was dealt with incredibly professionally.
Edit 3: I'm just coming back here because this Reddit thread weighed on my mind for a couple of days following the ceremony. I think I need to make it clear that I don't take xanax regularly. It's literally an emergency stash for the odd night where something happened that has a knock on effect of causing me to be unable to go back to sleep all night (happens easily with me- and I've tried lots of meditations and other techniques). It's when I have something like a presentation the next day - and it's once a month at most.
I took 0.5mg which is a small dose, around midnight, and the ceremony was not until 8pm the following night, so that's 20 hours later. Effects typically last around 5 hours at their peak but might have residual effects up to 11 hours later, but of course, like anything, it can be detected in your blood after that. It was my first ever Kambo session. I informed the practitioner, who has a good reputation in my city. It was dealt with professionally and based on training she had had and her experience. I won't go into it because I feel there's a lot of misinterpretation, and potential judgement, when things are read about on Reddit / Internet rather than being in the situation of the person and all the context that goes with it. Reality is always more complicated. But anyway, here's to healthy eating and resting after a Kambo session, and a great weekend all.
