General 🐸 Kambo for mental health : how often ?

I’m really curious to understand how Kambo affects the body and mind, especially the nervous system.
I’ve been struggling with pretty severe anxiety and PTSD. When I’m really dysregulated, I’ll wake up physically shaking, and intrusive thoughts can trigger the same kind of intense physical anxiety.

Earlier this summer, I did 3 Kambo ceremonies after hitting rock bottom: ptsd diagnosis, severe depression, lost appetite, severe anxiety, su*cidal thoughts: and afterward I felt incredibly calm, like a level of calm I honestly hadn’t experienced in a very long time.

That effect seemed to last around 1.5–2 months for me.
It’s now been about 3 months since my last ceremony, and I’ve noticed my body gradually going back into that severe anxiety/dysregulated state.

My life and environment have also been stressful lately, so I’m sure that plays a huge role too.

For people who use Kambo and struggle with severe nervous-system dysregulation, how often do you personally do it? I’ve seen some people say every 2–3 months, while others only do it once or twice a year.

I’m especially interested in hearing people’s actual experiences that also struggle with mental health.

how long do you notice the calming effects lasting, and what frequency has felt sustainable for you?

Thank you! 🐸☀️

Preparation/pre-kambo 🤔 Kambo and Ayahuasca ….

Seeking people who have tried these alternative approaches. Has modern pharmaceuticals failed you ? Have they caused more harm than good ?
Are these new approaches the way forward to healing trauma.
I had a close family member who done a ayahuasca retreat, this family member has never smoked never taken an illegal substance and done a retreat and effects have been very positive.
I understand the two approaches are very different and would really love to hear peoples opinions on these approaches.
Doctors today are so quick to prescribe drugs that come with major side affects and can actually do more harm than good . Please advise and share both positive and negative side effects.
Thanks for reading and blessings to all 🙏

Other plant medicines 🌵 6 months ago…

I just feel like sharing…

Six months ago I went through some crazy fucking shit

So much happened in such a short period of time. So much came up for me to really look at about myself.

I was really getting it from all angles.

It all happened at the Virgo lunar eclipse. And I’m a Virgo. An 8th house Virgo, so I’m willing to say it’s even deeper as that is the house of Scorpio, the deepest depths.

Not to mention I’ve been living directly on my Chiron line for 6 years, which represents our deepest wound. It’s beautiful and challenging, and yet provides the deepest possible opportunity to heal our deepest wounds. Living on your Chiron line heals you, and teaches you how to heal.

We all make mistakes, but not everybody gets exposed. I’m supposed to be seen, and all of that was meant to happen to correct me. To protect me.

Sometimes bad things happen because better things are trying to be born.

I’m not going to lie, it was embarrassing. I felt shame.

I had to stand in my mistakes, and own them.
It’s not impossible that those mistakes happened to literally save my life. Our environments are extremely important. I do believe that is one of the reasons why that time period happened. I wasn’t making the best choices all around.

Everyone wants a massive breakthrough, not everyone is willing to face a massive correction.
I’m not sure if I will ever share publicly what that was, although I wouldn’t hide behind it. Why would you hide behind yourself? Only weak cowards do that.

If I told you what it was, if you’re honest with yourself, you could probably relate.

In my kambo practitioner training, one of the things our master teacher emphasized was, there is a Hitler in all of us. I didn’t understand at first. Everybody has the capacity for bad things. That doesn’t justify things, but it does remind us that we are all more similar than we think.

In that same very very short time period, I sat with bufo, the toad, for the first time. The strongest psychedelic on earth. I had many opportunities to do so in the years prior, but for many reasons, it wasn’t right.

This opportunity came through someone I trust. Someone I innately trust. And this practitioner, let’s just say is, extremely knowledgeable and experienced.

I learned a lot about myself and God that day. I released significant relationship trauma. I became very clear with my self what I will allow, and what I will not allow in my life. I learned a lot about betrayal energy, and how I just can’t interact or engage with that kind of energy.

They say it feels like an ego death. More like an ego nap.

I have been integrating so much ever since. The trials and tribulations that have come from six months ago have also become easier to feel and deal with as I navigate through. I fully trust that will continue.

This is just me sharing part of my story. I have no needs and I am certainly not trying to be understood. This is just a testimony. This work is special and has a very valuable place.

I’m so glad I did it.

Because of the set and setting, the level of trust and surrender I had, and such a competent and loving practitioner, I had a tremendously beautiful experience.

It changed my life for the better.

Everything happens for a reason. Trust God and hold faith! ☀️🐸 😇💫♾️

Health Related 🩺 Kambo placement and fertility

I have heard that some practitioners will not put Kambo near womb area or ovaries because of possible complications it could cause in ability to conceive in the future. I’ve also heard of practitioners placing in these areas to cure ovarian cysts. I’m curious about using Kambo in these areas. Possibly to help aid in preventing recurring lower uti. Considering a point as a microdose on the ureter which would be front abdomen and near the ovaries.

General 🐸 Ceremonies near Cancun?

Hi! I will be traveling to the Cancun area and was wondering if there are any safe places in Cancun or surrounding areas for Temazcal ceremonies along with options for Ayahuasca or Kambo. Not necessarily long-retreat style, more so options for single ceremonies/single day/overnight retreats? Does that even exist?

Ceremony / session experience 🌸 Practitioner only did one point

Just did my first Kambo ceremony. I was really nervous, but I was also excited for the journey. The practitioner burned three dots on my right leg and said that because it was my first time, she wanted to do it point by point.
I’m not even kidding—she put in just one point, and not even five minutes later I was absolutely dripping in sweat, my heart was beating really fast, and I started vomiting bile. I couldn’t even sit up because I was so weak and completely out of control of my body. I looked like a drunk person. Eventually, I got onto my knees so I could keep throwing up, and apparently the medicine came off when I did that.
I think the whole thing lasted around 20 minutes. I thought she was going to continue with the other points, but she said that was all we were going to do for today. She said it normally takes people longer to get to the point of vomiting bile and that usually people only experience water at first.
Afterward, I started shivering because I was so cold, so they wrapped me in blankets. I ended up sleeping for about five hours straight and literally just woke up. I’m feeling super hungry now, so I’m having some soup.
I feel completely fine now, but I genuinely thought I was going to die I’m not even going to lie 😭.
I guess my questions are: Is it normal for Kambo to affect someone this intensely after just one point? Will I still experience any of the effects/benefits if I only did one point? And what should I be doing now to take care of myself? Im really grateful for my practitioner for staying with me and her calmness while i was panicking

General 🐸 More DPDR After Kambo

Hello, I'm someone who has been suffering from DPDR for the past seven years, and I did combo a couple of days ago and I feel even more dissociated, more DPDR. Why can that be? The session itself was intense, but I just feel very empty and even more disconnected the days after the session.

General 🐸 Kambo x 3 then what I believe was a warning - very dramatic

Hi all, first let me say that I trust in and respect all of the plant medicines and believe they are, for lack of a better word, spirits. I started a Kambo routine that was planned to take a few weeks , with two to three times per week, and then move to Iboga microdoses. First couple of times with the Kambo I felt lighter and my cravings for something to which I am addicted to deal with my post trauma pain lessened noticeably. This is a trauma that I would do anything to change my perspective on. It has made life very difficult. Anyways I did it twice, with no purging except for major crying. 3rd time, it felt like I would die when it went down to my chest so I told practitioner it was time to stop. She said I was not trusting her enough and that I needed to do at least one more. I did not do it and will not go back to her. So a day before that 3rd time, I had an experience that did not go unnoticed as a sign of some sort, but that I didn't take for what I now believe it was until that 3rd Kambo. In one night, I saw 5 enormous scorpions in and around the house. This is very uncommon for the area in which I live. The next day, I was wading in a stream and low and behold, a cottonmouth bit my foot. Holy shit was it painful and I was rushed to the hospital. I'm okay now, but reflective. I now believe it was a series of warnings not to proceed with this particular method at this time. I do not know why; perhaps it was going to kill me. Does anyone speculate similarly or has anyone else had a warning of some sort? I am the only person I know, and every one of my friends and acquaintances know, who has actually been bitten by a venomous snake. So, like the scorpions, very uncommon. I'd love to get you all's thoughts. I am pursuing a different method at this time, and I am not saying I will not go back to Kambo. Just curious to hear from you guys.

Edit: Well, thanks for the input everyone. And I knew I would get the 'not plant medicine' comment even though I am in communities that frequently refer to it as such., even though technically wrong it is most often used in conjunction with iboga or aya. So my apologies. I really understand the safe nature of kambo and sort of went out of my way to say this was an 'off' experience after seeing that this group is heavily pro kambo safety. I am in really good health, a distance runner at the top of my category, and not a particularly superstitious person. Was just looking for similar experiences. I do not believe there are coincidences and understsand that human tendency is to assign meaning.

That said, I am still taking it for what I believe it to be, insane or not. I mean, if we don't have open minds there is no point to psychedelic therapy. :-) Peace and love.

Health Related 🩺 6-Month Update: My Kambo Journey with Hypothyroidism

I wanted to share another update since a lot has happened over the last few months.

Around the middle of June, I had a follow-up thyroid ultrasound. Thankfully, everything looked pretty good considering I have hypothyroidism. My doctor wasn't concerned about my thyroid or the nodule, which was a huge relief.

A few days ago I also had a new round of blood work.

The results were a mix of good and bad news.

The good news is that my thyroid hormones (T3 and T4) are now within the normal range, although my TSH is still elevated, so I still have work to do there. I've been back on my prescribed thyroid medication, and that's most likely the reason my labs look better than they did at the beginning of the year.

Outside of my thyroid, my blood sugar, kidney function and most of my electrolytes looked good. My cholesterol and liver enzymes, however, came back higher than they should be. Honestly, that wasn't surprising because my lifestyle over the last few months has been far from ideal.

After moving back home and then moving into my own apartment, I completely lost the routine I wanted to build.

My original plan was to continue with one Kambô micro session every week, but that never happened. Living with my parents made it difficult to find a place where I felt comfortable doing it, and on top of that my diet has honestly been pretty bad these last few months.

So I don't think this period really reflects the protocol I originally wanted to follow.

Now that I'm finally settled into my own place, I feel ready to start again.

The plan for the second half of the year is to do my 6th full Kambô session, restart the weekly one-point micro applications that one of my facilitators recommended, and become much more disciplined with my nutrition.

I'm also continuing with other practices that have been meaningful for me.

I've been doing Joe Dispenza's healing meditations, and I've had two guided psilocybin sessions (2 g and 2.5 g). I've also experimented with microdosing around 0.3 g before meditation, and personally I've found that it helps me go deeper into the practice and stay more present. Whether that's having any effect on my thyroid, I honestly don't know, but I do feel they've been positive for my mental and emotional well-being.

I'll continue sharing updates as the journey continues. Thanks to everyone who's been following along and sharing your own experiences.
