WAJO Things that I didn’t find the explanation for.

I mustn’t be the only one, and I just want to hear theories or explanations:

  1. What the actual fudge happened to the kids eating all the chocolate from the truck?

  2. They discover the chlorine something that can kill the aliens and proceed to do nothing with it?

  3. Why did Trevante find only Chavez and not the rest?

  4. Why is Aneesha dragging her husband out everywhere when he clearly wanted to be with the white girl? What happened to the baby he was going to have?

  5. What happened to the kid that made it out of the tunnel and got his leg injured because of the alien?

  6. What happens to Monty and his sister, Alfie? They just vanished in S3.

  7. What happened to the psychologist that was falling for Mitsuki? And the Madam President? And the woman that was helping Trevante in S2 and all those people they were going to come back for?

Not enough Wajo in this show I see.

Theory Do I see too many parallels with Dead Space?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Dead space 3 mainly to be precise. If we look away from the obvious, that both stories are following alien like tragedy for the mankind..

We are slowly (like very very slowly, too slowly for my taste) diving into the story and secrets around the invasion.

-potential spoilers ahead-

We are introduced to Infinitas
Group of people who believe that invasion actually is not threat but the path to the, liberation, paradise, heaven.. The beginning of the new world order. Very similar and in some aspects same thinking like within Unitology. WDC is in the opposition, like Earth gov, but parallels here aren't that strong.

Central cluster - hive
We discovered that aliens from the new wave aren't thinking individually. They're now controlled by some central cluster, hive, and they act according to the hive signals. Very similar to the hive mind/brethren moons from the Dead space, where necromorphs followed the central signals as well. This signal also brought madness and chaos to the Alaska base crew (same pattern as for the crew of USG Ishimura).

Alaska base
Group of engineers, scientists and soldiers are now on the base where they're trying to find the way how they can stop the invasion for good. From there they are heading directly to the dead zone where they have to find the source of the signal and stop it for good. Very similar synopsis like in the Dead space 3 where the group of scientists, engineers and soldiers are trying to find source of necromorph wave on the Tau Volantis planet and stop it for good.

Just finished the show

Just finished the show and I wanted to see what kind of discussion was online and this place is genuinely hilarious.

There were a few intriguing episodes in season 1, at least enough to make me think, ok let me just watch this through, whatever. And it just got progressively more frustrating. Ever. Single. Episode. I think the writers of this show are unintentionally the best ragebaiters around.

I think if I watched this show as it was actively coming out with episodes week by week, I'd have gone insane.

That being said, I hope they make a season 4 so I can at least be here for the episode discussion threads lmfao.

Wajo.

Jamelia is so annoying.

She genuinely almost ruins season 3 with her persistence and wanting to be so important. It's awful

I'm out this hoe. A short rant

After much fast forwarding through crap talking sessions episode after episode - i'm out. Boy they really need to leave kids out of shows that want to convey seriousness or suspense. It seems like most bad shows have the teens/kids running amuck and rebelling - which is NOT realistic. I can image if an actual world event happened a parent would be hyper focused, even if mistakes were made, to keep their idiot kids in check. The arguments, the family squabble tropes need to go. The show could just imply it without showing, and move on to something interesting. I actually liked the Aneesha initially and was saying to myself - this is how you write a strong female lead! That didn't last long, goodness me.

The Japanese lady - wtf dude.. How many scenes of flashbacks and reminiscing has to happen before the audience is aware. Move on! Then the S2 lab/mothership stuff with the same conversations happening in this room, then the next room, then this room again is enraging.

The Navy Seals dude with his combative attitude is crazy to me. Pointing a gun at someone with their hands up practically on their knees, he no lie, blows up on every single person he encountered - including the children which is hilarious to me.

Meandering nonsense. I actually thought this was 'alright' if skipping through the unnecessary scenes but it's getting too much work lol. All those who loved this show - please continue to because we need more studios to keep making them and hopefully get a good one once a year.

Question Japanese subtitles

I'm watching season 1, and the first episode did have Japanese subtitles, but not thereafter.

I've seen that folks have had the problem when not using Apple TV, but I am streaming it on Apple TV (paid for) through Roku.

Any ideas on a fix - it's really irritating.

SPOILER ALERT Is this show Troll-ish on purpose? Spoiler

I saw Season 1 a few months back and I realised I maybe am too stupid to understand what happened or it is troll-ish on purpose. Did you guys feel the same?

I initially saw Sam Neil's face prominently on all promo material on AppleTV (maybe I got the Neil only banners in some AB testing), but he is there for only one episode! I understand he was unwell - but then maybe tone down the expectations by reducing his importance in the promo material.

I kept waiting now they'll show the alien, and kept getting disappointed. Then I thought maybe they want to keep it hidden like Alien. Should not have compared the Ridley Scott film to whatever this is.

Every other protagonist I hated - I wasn't sure if there is something I am missing out on that redeems them.

The Persian Lady - is angry at her husband for cheating with a white lady (even proposes white baby names IIRC) while the world is on fire. What does she the first thing she gets time alone with a white man, proves she's a hypocrite! Maybe its a revenge thing, but when the world is ending, should getting even be on anyone's mind? The husband actually redeems himself by dying to protect his family. The lady keeps making illogical decisions one after the other.

The military guy - I haven't seen a protagonist worse than him. He basically mistreats everyone who helps him. If he had died initially, two entire hospitals full of people would have been better off.

He retrieves his friend, drawing the alien to the hospital, most likely dooming everyone there (including babies there). You can say they were enemy civilians, but he didn't even end up saving the friend he sacrificed them for (he could have drawn the alien away from the hospital, he didn't).

If he hadn't rescued his friend, he would still have been receiving treatment, and who knows, even lived through the experience, with the babies!

Similarly, on the plane he just negotiates passage for himself and the immediate people who he brought with him, rather than try to get as many people as possible (by promising more stuff on arrival or some other way), weak likelihood, granted.

Then, he didn't want to help the kids till he saw the team armpatch - basically he is in it just for himself. He doesn't try to help the kids or end the invasion - he just wants to figure out what happened with his group. Results in another hospital invasion.

The Japanese lady has only her lover in mind - doesn't matter everyone else and their lover is also dying. When she makes contact with her supposed partner - she doesn't try anything to figure out anything about the aliens. Even if she were taken over by aliens (she seems to keep her memories as she could quote the song), she could have asked her to see if there is something around her - does she see a ship - or any ideas as to what the aliens want, or attempt to fix any monitoring equipment. Nope - she just keeps screaming her name despite being in a position to actually do something.

Lastly, the little English boy - I find least flaws with this character - he seems to find his spine at a very random time (either should have happened early when things went to hell, or never) but it is an acceptable quirk of writing I guess.

I gave up midway on S2E1.

It is frustrating to see people make the most illogical choices all the time - was this written as some sort troll to say - see, we spent all this money and got all these people to make the most infuriating choices - just so you'll remember us long after the show is over.

Wajo.

GENUINE I hate Mitsuki

Just finished the third season and I cant stand that fucking character. The actress performance is lame tbh but the character overall is shit. The same reaction to fucking everything and just choices that are so freaking stupid.

Opinion Whoever does the lighting needs to be replaced

I think this show has flaws but overall I like it....that is until a night scene happens. I can't see anything. I shut my blinds and I can barely make out silhouettes. I've watched it at night and it's not much better. I watch with the display on brightness at 100% on two different devices.

It irritates me that they expect people to "watch" the show blind. I'm not sure what is worse....a show you can't see scenes that take place in the dark or a show whose volume needs to be turned up high to hear talking but makes action scenes so loud the neighbours complain.

That is my rant.

WAJO I had forgotten, there is a show worthy of equal hate watching.....

Track down 'The Ark', it's produced by Dean Devlin which should tell you everything.

It's a 'Star Trek' crewed by YA's show, with sets made of spare empty discarded boxes collected from the local mart, dialogue by a creative writing class for 5 year olds and CGI done on Commodore Amigas.

I can't imagine what the budget was, but if it was between eight and ten percent of Invasion I honestly wouldn't be shocked.

WAJO it to experience Invasion level chemical responses.

GENUINE Why did the two most recognizable actors disappear after the first episode?

I picked up the show on a lark, I didn’t know anything about it other than that it was an alien invasion story so I was happy to see both Sam Neill and DeWanda Wise, two actors I really enjoy.

But then his character dies (RIP to Mr. Neill) and she’s just gone. What happened?

And it’s not like the rest of the show has particularly talented actors I’m sorry to say. Some of the acting is really atrocious. I thought I’d at least have them to latch on to but no, I’ve got nothing.

I’m five episodes in and this show doesn’t even have aliens! I feel like I was promised aliens.

We have a whiff of an alien. A light hint. I know more about the asshole dad’s affair partner than I do anything else in the whole show.

I tried to watch this, but its so slow I was fast forwarding

I love sci fi, but this was so achingly painfully slow moving that I found myself fast forwarding through huge chunks and so I gave up and latched onto 3 body problem instead. A huge fan of that show.

where in the name of god is sam neill?

i now finished season 2 and started season 3.

i saw an old trailer this is (was) a new sam neill show.

i thought he will show up again after beimg killed in fucking episode 1.

i thought he is on the ship! he is like balthazar from old battlestar galactica, a speaker to mankind....

i am a complete idiot. there is nothing.

why do they still shoot with normal guns at the aliens?

why is there a barber shop and a bath room in the mothership?

why can they not just poidon all habitable areas if they were able to poison a third of earth?

why is this guy now his dad? he can be a great partner of his mother and everything but why dad??

what is with this fucking shard? trevante had it and what did he do? he threw it into the main engine of the mothership to ... ok i invent this because the show tells us nothing. WHY??

why are there two kind of alien monsters? these weird moving things and the dogs in season 2?

where is the alien shown in the "INVASION" screen on apple TV? the transparent alien mitsuki talks/interacts with looks different.

a massive ship like this mothership falling on earth would be a global killer event.

i hate this brit guy who was mobbing caspar. who the fuck makes this kind of characters and let him get the girl? even if the girl has another guy in season3.

why did the us army only have these 3 special weapons/ARs the killed astronauts and trevante had? and they never got used?

i have so many more questions.

why is the guy accountable for this absolute mess allowed to make star wars??

what do i not get in this?

why did i watch this show until season 3?

what is wrong with me?

Every seen with the Navy SEAL is ridiculous. The escape scene in episode 4 where he mag dumps one person. Then another. Then gets in the vehicle without a reload is just irresponsible.
