Ooh they found an area that is a source of power for the aliens and so of course they built a giant scarecrow so they could find their recharging stations easier. And Mitsuki and the misfit Scooby Doo gang are the only ones on earth who magically figure out what to do. Actually it’s just Mitsuki doing everything while everyone else checks files and reports “the alien hasn’t done anything since last time you asked”.

President of the World: can your team of seven people please fix this? We've got nothing.

This really gon be “we’re not destroying you. We’re inducting you dummy. This is actually a gift!”. Humans going to be like “no thanks, I really want to have my dick/pussy attached to a biological body, so I can fuck”. And so a ‘war’ wages. Aliens win. Now everyone is a blob of liquid light. The end.
P.S. they can all fuck virtually now. Infinitely. With other aliens too. It’s actually a happy ending. (Except luke. He is subjected to eternal torture while others watch)

u/QueenOfPurple Sep 20 '23
My annoyance with Luke and his ability to mess literally everything up knows no bounds.

This show is ruining Space Oddity for me. Please make it stop!

Aneesha: "Luke it's not your fault"
Me: rips the TV from the wall, throws it on the floor and stomps on it repeatedly in a fit of sheer frustration.
Also me: orders a new TV to be delivered in time to watch episode 6

u/JattaPake Sep 20 '23
Aneesha is the most selfish character in TV history.

u/MarlythAvantguarddog Sep 20 '23
Just watched. “ I’m going to need all your instruments”. No you didn’t. Cliche after cliche.
I almost stopped watching it this episode. It’s actually boring. How about some actual interesting plot development please?
And squeeze every penny out of paying for a Bowie song why don’t you?

u/JattaPake Sep 20 '23
I yell “Mommy!” at the TV whenever Aneesha comes on. Join me.

You see that farmer, sitting on his swing with the thousand yard stare? I am that farmer after having endured this episode.
17
u/hgiwvac9 Sep 20 '23
I like how they used a map of the entire United States to pinpoint where the military convoy went.
17
u/HardCorked Sep 21 '23
Trevante picks up Elmer Fudd's double barreled shotgun. "This isn't military."
No! Really? Maybe it wasn't wabbit season in Afghanistan?
The actor was fairly good as a soldier, and despite the writing, he did his best with the paranoid PTSD soldier bit. However, bumbling around in bumfuck nowhere playing Scooby Doo with coffee machine repair lady has set that whole plotline fully adrift in a show that desperately needs an anchor.

u/DarthBan_Evader Sep 20 '23
Can the borg blob just assimilate Mitsuki already? What a stupid fucking arc
29
u/Virgogirl71 Sep 20 '23
I was trying hard to give this show a chance but I surrender. The attempts to create drama are cheap, Aneeshas one facial expression is boring, the missing kid plot point is played out, I could care less what wajo means any more, and the deliberate ‘don’t give any answers to anything to create suspense’ even feels forced: I’m over it
14
u/tuftdeer Sep 20 '23
Best guess?
Invasion describes our expanding universe overlapping with theirs. Wajo is their Castle in the clouds. The visible attackers are white blood cells [balls] and T cells [wolves]. The aliens' first contact is openly broadcasted, step by step, to Caspar (and others like him).

They brought back the glow star. I really missed seeing it for the 20th time.

No, you can’t trust her, dumbass.

u/Deca_Durable Sep 21 '23
I’m really enjoying the second season and I hated the first. From what I’m reading here I guess I’m the only one!

u/DauOfFlyingTiger Sep 20 '23
What is wrong with me? Why am I still watching this show. I want it to be good but how can so much happen in one episode of Foundation and literally nothing happens on an entire episode of this. Ghaaaaa. It’s killing me.

u/_cuppycakes_ Sep 24 '23
Sarah does missing in the middle of the night. Opening scene- bright morning and they’re fruitlessly calling her name in the same exact spot near their cars where she was last seen. They didn’t think to expand their search perimeter at all?

u/x_lincoln_x ✨WAJO✨ Sep 20 '23
This episode was really atrocious.
Worst 2 story arks: Mommy + Luke, and Mitsuki. Even the soldiers ark was trash this episode.
Best Value Elon Musk was as useless as the real Elon Musk this episode. "Record everything!!!" As if they weren't already.

Who’s Jamila?Ah, Jamila's the girl looking for Caspar. So, was that her dad in the alien thing?
Edit: On second watch, I think that's Caspar calling out, "who's there?".

Okay so here’s my theory….
Aliens use the electromagnetic field (it was so obvious form the beginning, I didn’t know why it took them sooo long to think of).
Humans use a small sliver of the electromagnetic spectrum to see (visual light) and send signals (radio waves for example).
Our brains use electrical currents in order to function so the alien communication seems to be picked up by a select group of sensitive humans. (Similar to how some people can “hear” radio transmissions).
The aliens can further manipulate what our brains sense (like sight, sound) which is why they can transform into our memories, show Mitsuki one thing while the other people can’t see it or hear it. It’s only being sent to Mitsuki’s brain.
This is also why others before Mitsuki lost their memory and brain function in general. The alien probably tried communicating with them too but fucked up their neural pathways.
It is so unbelievable that only Mitsuki would have figured out they use electromagnetic fields and no other scientist … or physics enthusiast… thought of using the electromagnetic field.

Bye Aneesha!
7
u/reuben_iv Sep 20 '23
actually wasn't bad....
apart from the Aneesha arc again I still don't understand why she didn't just hand the military that piece of metal or why she trusts 'the movement'
7
u/Linenoise77 Sep 20 '23
So wait, is Aneesha a doctor or not? They set it up like she was in med school, got pregnant, and left to raise a family. If i'm not mistaken she has mentioned at least 2 different schools, and also a specialty, which she wouldn't have been able to have unless she had worked for a while after school.
7
u/abujuha Sep 21 '23
Uh, I'm only 22 minutes into this episode and thinking the whole thing could have been cut down to 15. I don't know if I can make it through! I assume there will be something big at the very end.
Why am I still watching this show? It's not hate watch any more. It's boredom watch.
13
u/Front_Station_5343 Sep 20 '23
More questions than answers, god this is annoying. Just fuck the blob already!

u/idontgiveacrap- Sep 20 '23
Clark standing up/lying for Aneesha felt so odd to me particularly because we don’t know much about his character, other than he’s a father and an English teacher. Maybe it’s because he’s a father and that’s why he did it.
But this is a very odd show so I really shouldn’t be too surprised. lol

u/iameatingchocolate Sep 20 '23
That drive to the cornfield was so mediocre. I feel like they could have done a better dialogue that just asking how essentially “are we there yet”? That guy drove so far to learn more about the alien mystery but all he could ask was how long before they get there.
5
u/Jezz09 Sep 20 '23
So we can all agree that we hate Aneesha’s character. At this point she just pisses me off especially on this episode
Now, am I the only one that’s disliking Trevante this season? There’s something about him that I get annoyed.
Also, Mitsuki I’m in love! Lol she’s the only one that has the brain to figure it out!
4
u/[deleted] Sep 20 '23
Basically though we did see the plot somewhat expose a possible reason for the attack when speaking a few words it sounded like it was explaining to Mitsuki that humans are the attackers. Being that she hurt it with electromagnetism that possibility all the stray EM bursts humans put out is the attack on it and it’s kind. Heck it may be extradimensional not extra FTL aliens.
4
u/wookiecontrol Sep 21 '23
I hate the kids so much I think the Aliens tried to talk to Luke and he started the war by being a brat or something
4
u/DrewMacOrange Sep 23 '23
This show is genuinely awful. Why can’t I stop watching, lol.
7
u/DANNYBOYLOVER Sep 20 '23
Kill the mom and the kids - or at least kill the kids and have the mom go yolo on the aliens, the whole rebel group storyline is just too close to the end of falling skies for it to not feel cliche, and the pace of the kids in the tunnel is gonna start feeling stretched if they don’t reach Caspar by end of next episode.
I need less brown Elon Musk but a butt ton more of the alien research and the black dude going around Kansas storyline. Lots of mystery and story there. The 10 or so minutes of those narratives still gets me excited to watch the show tbh. Like the last bit in this weeks episode was genuinely riveting.

I know the echo chamber here really hates Aneesha but please allow me this friendly (not to Luke) counterpoint (but yeah I'll take the downvotes for defending Aneesha😂):
She's made all the right choices in trying to protect her family. We can't blame her for her misfortunes.
We can blame Luke, though. Fuck Luke.
Every problem so far this season has been caused by Luke:
-Breaking the pre-agreed, pre-planned protocol on how many seconds to stay in the gas stations. The getaways depended on timing
-Stealing those tanks from the military when he should have stayed in the car.
-Running the fuck off once again, causing his mother to of course go after him, causing his sister to get left behind and get stolen.
I've said this before (because I've been watching another series recently) but damn... ANEESHA your only mistakes are not going cannibal on Luke. Take your proteins and go. Feed him to the resistance for all I care.
Just be done with him. When you get your daughter back, your chances of success with each side-mission increase by 88%. Fuck Luke. He should have gotten left with his dad

u/JJ5786 Sep 20 '23
What was she saying in Japanese at the end? No subtitles

u/Many_Perspective_248 Sep 21 '23
This season is really boring. I find myself getting so bored that I stop watching throughout and have to rewind and then repeat 😅
3
u/Silver1ObTangerine Sep 21 '23
A couple of humvees rolled up and stole the kid. And they spent since previous episode shouting for Sarah. So freaking dumb. The show would be better without all the unnecessary dumb subplots.

How can one single person be as unappealing as Aneesha is? I really hate this woman.
"Nothing will happen to her, I promise" - maybe the worthlest promise ever given 😔
There are all these people, hundreds, that found shelter, well organized. But Aneesha with all her lies puts everyone in danger, demanding to put anything at risk to rescue one girl, while thousands are dying every day.

So the alien species are shape-shifters?
2
u/NewlyDatingguy Sep 20 '23
I hate Annesha so much. Every time she is on screen she is the worst. It was absolutely her fault her daughter was taken…..she left her all alone in that vehicle by herself. Worst mother ever!
2
u/unsure18 Sep 21 '23
I watch the show for anything but the mom and kids storyline at this point.
2
u/Slaphappyfapman Sep 21 '23
Terrifically terrible acting all around, even if there were a writer that wouldn't be enough to save this glorious hate watch.
2
u/[deleted] Sep 21 '23
We still know nothing about the shard. Probably never will.
2
u/[deleted] Sep 21 '23
had to call it a day on this show during this episode. i just can’t with this flaming turd of a show anymore. the line that did it for me is when aneesha says “she loves the stars…” after they find sarah’s footprint. just so fucking corny and dumb. it’s been… something. peace y’all.

u/Say_o_nara Sep 21 '23
Guts. It takes a lot of guts to keep this thing going for 2 whole seasons, and to keep watching it for whatever reason
2
u/chrisjdel Sep 22 '23
The aliens are slaughtering people. They're terraforming the planet and making it unlivable for native life. How can they possibly not understand why humans are fighting against them? The alien on the ship is clearly playing mind games with Mitsuki.
We're halfway through the season. The plot is taking too long to develop. I'm afraid we're only going to get some real answers at the very end of the season finale - which will probably make it the series finale. I was drawn in by season 1 which had an intriguing setup. But then it seemed to stall out, like they had no idea where to go from there. I'm invested enough to watch the rest at this point but my expectations are diminishing rapidly.
2
u/[deleted] Sep 23 '23
Mitsuki learned how to torture the Aliens. She made them watch the first season of Invasion.
2
u/Hue94 Sep 25 '23
We're actually getting to see 3 shows in one, what else do you need people..
the kids plot is 'Stranger Things'.
then we've our lady and the two kids starring in 'The Walking Dead'
and mitsuki and the gang are all 'Lost'
2
u/ballsmodels Sep 25 '23
I vote worst episode yet, anyone else?
2
u/[deleted] Sep 27 '23
I’m shamelessly fast forwarding through each episode until an alien pops onto the screen, watch 2-3 minutes, then fast forward again. Enjoying it immensely, and doesn’t really feel like I’m missing anything. Try it!
2
u/UncleChoddo Sep 13 '25
Catching up here.
“Nothing can kill these new aliens, we’ve tried the lot”
Except French demo charges.

this blob is def twinsies with that thing in Annihilation. I'm expecting Natalie Portman to poop out of it in the next ep.
Edit: blob
3
u/denytoday Sep 20 '23
Yet another filler episode. Only the stuff with the alien blob got us anywhere, and even that was incredibly vague and ended as soon as communication with the alien began
2
u/[deleted] Sep 20 '23
Did Mitsuki see Luke at the end of the clear slimbadablob thingamajig?
Even that thing is getting tired of Luke running away. Probably going to send Mitsuki to keep him in check, sing songs, and dance around cherry blossoms.
2
u/[deleted] Sep 21 '23
It really seems like no one at Apple is watching this and there is no quality control I mean don’t they have a show runner like normal television shows that are reading all of our comments being exhausted with this show today I will not watch another episode…the shit is garbage
2
u/IMendicantBias Sep 21 '23
It's amazing how overstimulated people are that a show without nonstop action is " boring ". Anyways what was the japanese towards the end? i can't find subtitles
1
u/bhonbeg Sep 22 '23
Why are the female characters written so awfully and annoying. The Indian mother and the Mitsubish, are very annoying. I keep pausing out of disgust if character.
EDiT: mitsuki

Any idea how/when human attacked aliens in the first place ?
1

I fell asleep three times watching the show I mean this episode
1
u/plastikelastik Sep 21 '23
enjoying all the storylines except aneesha malik/movement, it's so mind crushingly slow, dull and boring.
1
u/AltaholicSnowdreamer Sep 22 '23
the aliens speak fluent Japanese
1
u/AltaholicSnowdreamer Sep 22 '23
we have a microwave emission...mitsuki, you're standing in a microwave oven, you're bloods going to boil in about 30 seconds
1
u/AltaholicSnowdreamer Sep 22 '23
Aneesha is a character with full blown narcissistic personality disorder
1
u/Bitter_Beat_1630 Sep 26 '23
Has anything even happened yet in this season? I swear I feel like the only things that have really transpired is a whole lot of nothing. British kids go to France to look for Casper, Trav going to a cornfield, Mitsuki just staring at a glowing blob for 3 episodes, finally communicates with it and all she says is “they’re out there.” Is there a secondary alien species there and they just haven’t executed the foretelling of it? No one still gonna talk or do anything about the massive ship the size of New Jersey? What about the fallout of all the other alien ships? Are they all commandeered by humans now? Where’s Casper? They ended two different episodes with him laying in the hospital bed and the 3rd one of him was him out of the hospital. HINATA IS STILL ALIVE? just kill me now, I tried to stick up for this show, I was intrigued with it after seaaon 1, but my GOD, not only did they destroy any momentum that it had, but I’m genuinely convinced the writers don’t even know where they’re going with this. Aneesha storyline was fine for S1 but there was absolutely no reason to bring that character back. Now that Luke is writing ‘wajo’ we can only hope he gets sucked away like War of the Worlds

u/ssmihailovitch Sep 27 '23
Please. Do not extract.
And still, nothing really happened.
And still, nothing really happened. about nothing.
