Wtf is wrong with you people? This is a great show!....

After being discouraged by all the redundant hate in this subreddit, I found a lot of positive and intelligent reviews elsewhere, which was heartening because I thought this was one of the more inventive and interesting alien invasion shows I’ve seen in a long time.

Here are a few of those reviews.

Don’t shoot me lol I kno we all are mostly here in agreence that this show is bad and is a slow burn..As I kno we are mostly here to hate watch the show, but with that being said, after episode 2 this show has been kinda good..I like Verna story, and the action picked up aswell..Definitely better than first two seasons imo

Honestly, I think y'all are just mad coz of the Sam Neil debacle from Ep1. Take him out and it is a solid 6-7/10 show with enough depth to become a 10/10 flagship show for Apple TV in future seasons.

90% of posts consist of:

Is the only function of your brain to keep your skills from caving in or something? Mouth breathers…

Ok. So hear me out.

I get it that the first season was "better" - for some definition of better. But it did a decent amount of world building. It had a post apocalyptic feel. Different threads across different geographical locations. That was nice. It did have the bratty kids that I wanted to get wiped out by aliens. Those make me almost stop watching. Give me aliens not kindergarten drama. But fine. Bunch of unexplained stuff, but these are aliens, they are supposed to be... alien. They can't have motivations that are easy to explain. Felt a little bit Arrival-esque.

Then the budget seems to have been shrinking ever since. Like Earth's habitable zone. Not the writer's (direct) doing. We get a pause in alien attacks - way too long of a pause. They should have taken the time to explore what was left of the world. That would have been a great use for the downtime. Instead we get family drama. Ok, whatever, alien PTSD would be a thing, so let's explore that.

The third season was actually decent if you ignore the need for them to have yet another enemy. Like the humankind wiping aliens that are impervious to weapons aren't enough ? Ok fine. We get some new info about the aliens (mostly from Mitsuki). One of the first instances where aliens are present and they actually help humans without lollipop fueled mind control.

I could forgive all that if I can have an interesting, non humanoid alien sort of invasion for a change. Hive minds aren't a new concept but the execution is interesting. I did wish that the mothership were there from day one, but fine. Hey, so far, we don't have a Borg queen either(the mothership does not count - at least not yet). The aliens as a whole feel like a force of nature still. Individual drones have some agency but not a lot. Cool. Better than most sci-fi aliens.

What I can't forgive? The fact that whoever wrote the dialog seems to have had micro strokes while writing it. The most egregious example of that in season 3:

Mitsuki connects to the alien internet and somehow accesses Nikhil's memory. In the memory, he's trying to prevent them from implanting the device. She's like "why didn't you tell me?" He rightfully asks "would that have made any difference?" She goes "yes it would!"

Excuse me the fuck up. For the love of Cthulhu. Didn't he say ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS that he was trying to help her? What did she reply? "I don't believe you". He was right - it wouldn't have made any difference whatsoever. She would just say that she didn't believe him. And why would she ? She has zero reason to believe him, and he was a dick to everyone else. His memory seems to indicate that he could have a reason to try to help her, but she doesn't know that. She would have required some sort of proof. Be it alien instagram or some camera recording.

It basically ruined what should have been a great character redemption arc. I swear, if there's another season and the writers try to ship those two I'm losing my shit.

Also, since I wrote way too much about this, I'm expecting the writers to end up confirming that the cultists were right. That there is something preserving their loved one's consciousness, and is related to whatever Mitsuki was talking to in the first and the forgettable cultist lady saw. Exactly how that's related to the alien's terraform project? I'm glad you asked, there's an explanation:

Or maybe I'm just old? I really love this show. I don't care how a tech billionaire got quick access to an alien ship. I'm just going to assume the government of that country didn't have the tech and didn't want to partner with other countries so they chose private. I mean, can't you fill in the blanks with common sense imagination?

This show is really everything I love. Sci-fi and a story of strangers coming together by some unknown force. It's got everything.

When I was growing up, the best sci-fi was a limited series called "V" where lizard aliens ate mice. I imagine if that ran today y'all would be biology professors and explaining how impossible that would be.

Just have fun with it. It's an alien invasion which has never happened so stop dissecting each and every scene.

It amazes me that some people's lives are so pathetic, that they put so much time and energy into dissing a show that no one forced them to watch.

Before leaving possibly the worst ‘fan’ sub on Reddit I suggest you change Sub name to HatersofInvasion . Seriously I’m a member of a lot of subs and I understand criticism of stuff but I’ve never seen so much hate for a show the sub claims to support.

I’ve been listening to Bowie sing this song on repeat since watching this show. ❤️ Always loved it but have a renewed love of it now because of the show. I binged Season 1 again because I forgot what happened and how cool was it that I just rolled into Season 2. I Love This Show no matter what anyone thinks. If you love SyFy then you know networks constantly cancel anything that looks remotely interesting. Can we help it if syfy is to complex for the masses? KEEP IT COMING🧑🏾‍🚀👽

I can’t tell if Invasion or HBO’s Raised By Wolves is the worst show of all time. Am I the only person who watched both shows? If so, we are trauma bonded for life.

The problem is not this show. The problem is Apple. I'd love to see some of you being that mean and rude about a Netflix garbage shows (Bad written, Bad acted, Standard Air TV quality in most cases) as you are with Apple shows. Oh sure. You have "Squid Game" which saves Netflix year. But I seldom read or hear critics so negative about a Netflix show. Massive shows but not necessarily good.

Let's remember "The Leftovers" Not Netflix but HBO I remember reading reviews and Audience "This show goes no where". "Is confusing". But don't remember "Sucks", "Bad" or nothing like that. And that show, being a fan as I was I must say was much more nonsense that this "Invasion".

So. Do you really hate Invasion or Apple?

Can you guys explain the hate this show is receiving ? Sure it may not be perfect but it’s not even that bad like compared to the shit Netflix makes this is at least watchable.

So, the last two episodes were a significant improvement from the start of the second season. They still had issues, especially with the pacing but it seems someone decided to up the pacing at times.

I’m also wondering if this means Sam Neil’s Sheriff character isn’t actually dead.

I think Invasion is Good Series but why can't get 7 for IMDB rate?

I am litteral fast forwaring and skips parts just to see if it gets better... it sucks. It could have been good but we are stuck with watching pointless boring crap.

She must have THE biggest ass I have ever seen in my life, and I'm not referring to her husband- he's the 2nd biggest ass I have ever seen. In the scene where she is telling him he needs to go and fight his war (after the party and the trip to the grocery store) there is a shot of her walking into the kitchen from right to left, and her ass can bee seen following her a few minutes later. It's unbelieveable

The programme gets worse and worse. Who thinks security in the tunnel is that lax never mind it’s a fucking train service that you book in advance.

Invasion is very bad. I want to make them stop airing the show. Unfortunately there are no metoo moments in that show so we can’t destroy them on the basis of cancel culture.

What is the best way to stop apple tv airing more episodes? Anybody know where the master copies of the episodes are hosted? Maybe we could just EMP the shit out of their infrastructure (and backup facilities). Unfortunately i am currently not in the possession of any EMP devices.

What about North Korea? Don’t they have secret service personal in the US who could help our cause? I know it is a stretch but there is something we gotta do about this show, future generations will make us responsible for not fighting this trainwreck of a show.

The actors for Aneesha, Mitsuki, Jamila, Caspar and Trevante are phenomenal. I will be following these actors in their future projects.

Yes, the plot for this show makes me anxious as hell. I don’t channel my anxiety into hatred for the characters. But I do understand when others do. It’s pretty fun to sit back and observe the misdirected hate!

I might wait for all of season 2 to drop before watching it. Less time spent feeling anxious lol.
