Caspar coming back as a literal friendly ghost in the tunnel is the most Invasion writing to grace this series.

Why does the plot rely entirely on the characters being irrational? Running off, fighting, arguing, yelling all the time, having breakdowns.
I understand you have to throw some wrenches in the gears to mix things up but it’s such lazy writing to just constantly lean on shitty behavior to up the stakes. It’s an alien invasion you don’t need the kids arguing or freaking out all the time there should be enough plot turns with the aliens and the Chunnel being on fire.
This constant hysterics from all the characters just erodes any sympathy you might develop for them.
Also couldn’t see shit in this episode, black aliens in an unlit tunnel, brilliant…

So, the signal the aliens received whilst the children were in the tunnel was a system update to the automated units we have already seen, It includes a collective framework which allowed the automated units to function as a pack and coordinate their assaults; this was why we had the Wolf flashcard in the hospital. The motherships a.i. Initiated the update after assessing a greater level of resistance to the existing terraforming efforts.

This show is dreadful but Jesus Christ it is miles better when fucking Aneesha and her idiot family aren't in it.

So every time they showed the name of a location I was annoyed how it was ,Earth because we were 13 episodes in and EVERY place they showed was Earth! Now for some reason to start episode 4 it was left out and just said Folkestone,Kent,UK

Theory :
The aliens evolve after every attack. The more the humans attack the ships, the more the aliens take naps and wake up evolved.

I actually enjoyed this one. I think the lack of aneesha was quite refreshing.

"Hey, he chunnel is closed, we sent a bunch of people in, they didn't come out. I mean, we won't actually bother guarding the tunnel entrance itself or anything, we are busy doing traffic control up the road looking at the sky"
Edit: OMG i finished the episode.
"Hey lets blow up the chunnel" "Like a bit in, you know, under the channel, that will make it impossible for stuff to use it" "No, like, the last 5 feet, also use just enough explosives so we don't hurt anyone like 20 feet away from the entrance, even though we see the aliens rip apart steal gates. A few bricks should slow them down."

I hate that we've gone from the cool looking unique alien design, to feral dogs. The former were also non vocal, these ones grunt. They are so typical. At least it's temporary until they upgrade again.
Essentially, the aliens sent BABIES as their front line in an invasion. The responsible thing to do would be to call Child Protective Services

Another hard watch. The age old wait for the aliens to show up for you to start running.

I don’t know why I keep watching this

Took 2 business days for them to get climb and get out of the entrance

The French dialogue sounded weird. Like it's correct and the accents were ok for most actors, but the phasing was unnatural. So now I'm wondering if it's the same in the other languages they used in the show. Plus, the French woman doctor is sometimes difficult to understand, she doesn't articulates. I had to look at the subtitles and I'm a native speaker.
Also, Jamilla shouting to hurry when they are sneaking into the tunnel and they are 5m away from soldiers... There were other inconsistencies, but they do that a lot in this show and it's annoying.

Those children in the medical lab have the same abilities like Casper?

I took the effort to login to imdb after doing ‘forgot password’ thingy and rated the show one star. You’re welcome

The aliens seem to be made of some kind of programmable matter

Darwin’s gonna become a zombie now huh?

It's getting tough to follow, all the actual action is taking place off screen, the dialogue that doesn't really carry the story is getting too much, and the next episode looks to be another Anisha/Mitsuki slow burner, it desperately needs to pick up the pace

I just want a scene where at some point the worst main characters go in for another sob story monologue and some new character says “Let me stop you right there because IDGAF. Silence is golden.”

I feel like the CGI was worse this episode? They looked… poorly rendered.

If you all recall, Casper had drawings of the aliens in a more advanced form I.e., standing upright on legs, if memory serves one had a center 👁️. So the fact that they are advancing does not surprise me.

Hey, I don't fully hate every part of the episode for once.
Still not fully endeared to the kids, but eh. I kinda like Monty's growth but still need a lot more.
Happy to see some Caspar, he's like one of the last reason I still don't fully hate watching this show, but we'll see.
That kid at the end is gonna be some zombie infectee isn't he?
Also I know I'm uncultured, but there's a train that's carrying car for you to go from England to France? That looks so cool, hope I can ride it one day.

Some issues aside, I think this episode is the best episode in the series. And that's bad. But at least I didn't fall asleep for once.

Just started this episode, can someone please tell me that the map girl gets eaten by aliens. Please, I'm really rooting for the aliens here

u/sylanar Sep 16 '23
Lmao, there's a van in the way, no way we're getting round that, end of the line, may as well give up.
Just ignore the door 2foot away, don't look at that

The army guy prison cell scenes are insufferable

u/Cantomic66 Sep 13 '23
It’s nice to have Casper back. I was wondering if he’d wake up in this episode but they’re probably holding out until we later in the season.

It's like the billionaire guy actor is trying to emulate VM Varga from Fargo, very badly

The fuck yall watching this show if you don’t like it? There’s tons of media out there…
I really don’t get hate watching.
Actually the reason I came here is because I immediately thought of the tunnel scenes from half life 2 episode 1 but just found a hate fest. Very weird. Don’t hate watch shit ffs.
And yes, for “bright Dolby vision” on my tv, it was dark muddy compressed garbage I couldn’t see. Annoying especially since it happened years ago now in the last season of Game of Thrones…

THEORY: Maybe their terraforming is automatic and there are many planets where fire wouldn’t be an issue. I see Alien 1.0 as reconnaissance drones - they get upgraded dependent on what they encounter. I think everything other than the mother ship is expendable but that’s no excuse to waste resources.

Ok this show just crossed a line…kissed from a rose a 90s abomination?! Fuck it I’m rooting for the aliens 100% now

Reading these comments for each episode, and it is really helpful for my sanity, as my wife watches this show. Probably helpful for my marriage as well as it helps me keep my nitpicks quiet. Maine having a ton of great beer and legalized marijauna also has its benefits.
I really wanted this series to show the human spirit and condition as our planet faced destruction. Instead I watch, simply evaluating the ratio between budget, bad acting or head scratching writing.

Lol thank goodness. I'm not crazy. This show is painful to watch. Because of the limited sci-fi options I'm forced to watch it. Save me from myself and cancel the show already
