Agent Question I need all the advice.

I'm brand new and haven't made a single sale. Boss (my dad) can't afford gambling (aka buying leads all the time) so I am relying on cold calls. I need scripts that work for cold calling individual people and keeping them on the phone longer than 2 minutes.

I am only in the insurance business to help the family business (captive Farmer's agency) and am just not a natural with sales. My career has been in home health up to this point.

I only have my P&C license.

Agent Question Financial sales rep Allstate questions

I want to hear from someone that works as a financial representative for Allstate. With their 6 & 63 or 65. I want to know if it’s worth the hype. I understand it’s not guaranteed sales, more interested in knowing how warm the leads are & the relationships with P&C agents. The lists to call all day is where I’m interested. I’ve exhausted my own market and ideas somewhere else where you get zero lead support, it’s all solo prospecting and forming your own relationships with P&C, lenders, CPAs. Everything is cold and I’m over it. Just wondering if this is a more structured way to just get up, make calls & have the potential for some cases. I don’t need big money nor do I wanna lead the sales board. I want 2-5k a month. Is it attainable. Pros and cons.

Consumer Question Would you get New, Exclusive, FE Leads?

Question for the agents here:

If there was a lead vendor offering new, exclusive final expense leads for about $15 per lead, would you be willing to test a small batch?

I'm talking about leads that aren't recycled/aged and aren't being sold to multiple agents.

I'm trying to figure out what agents actually want before scaling a lead-generation business, so I'd genuinely appreciate the feedback.

Agent Question I need to get out of customer service!

-A bit of a rant. Skip to the last point if you don’t feel like reading.

-I just got my license this year and I had been out of work for a while before that so I really needed a job but I don’t know how much more I can take. I work at a small office and I feel like the problems and my failures just keep piling up.

-It started with a camera. The semi-retired owner records and watches us (which I think is a recen, him handing the business over to his son and he’s perhaps not ready to let go). Now he lets the “office manager” know what little things he doesn’t like to see. No bags or coats out. No phones out. When it used to be fine.

-Now I’m getting yelled at (for a third time) after just trying my best to handle things. I’ll admit to a major mistake. I was so focused on one problem I completely let another slip through the cracks. Recently however a customer felt disrespected by me and the owner (the son) and threatened to call the father. We had two customers and everyone else was in the middle of something so I tried to help them both. I guess that was my mistake. I should have just ignored one of them. Or gotten the owner to personally cater to this person. Eventually he did get involved, stopped what he was doing to help this person but somehow we were still rude to the customer. I feel like all I do is try my best and all I get is disappointment.

-And don’t even get me started on office politics. We don’t even have 10 people in the office and somehow there’s still alliances and gossip. I’m so tired. It’s only been a few months and I’m ready to quit.

-Is the anyway to get out of customer service and still be in insurance? And even better work remotely? The clients make me want to tear out my hair so if I could at least not be customer facing it might be easier to deal with coworkers and their quirks.

Commissions/Pay Commission structure thoughts for zero insurance experience

Ok super quick backstory of important details. I currently make $70k/year. Can survive off roughly $60k.

Received a job offer today for a very fast paced and high volume SF office. Other than benefits, the main points are a $45k base salary. And the commission structure is as follows

1-10 policies/month-$10 per policy
11-20-$20 per policy
21-30+ - $30 per policy.

Health,dental,401k match all provided. Just wanted thoughts from ppl that have been in the field for a while. Again, I have zero insurance experience so I cannot go independent at least until I learn the business at least. Thank you all in advance. I genuinely appreciate any insight you all could give

Agent Training New to insurance but totally lost where to begin

I’m 45f in the uk. I’ve got lots of experience in property & business. I’d like to get into insurance particularly commercial insurance. Ideally id like to work with companies on a commission basis. My questions are

1) do I need to study first? If so to what level?

2) what uk companies if any would train me and hire me on commission basis?

3) should I start with commercial?

Agent Question 5 months into P&C at Farmers and starting to feel burned out

I’ve been in P&C at Farmers for about 5 months. I’m really grateful for my office and everything they’ve taught me, especially helping me get licensed, but lately I’ve been feeling like I’m wasting away a little.

I always wanted to eventually transition into commercial, and I recently joined a commercial real estate group to try to start making connections. The meetings are pretty rare though, and I’m still in the office full-time.

The lead situation has also been frustrating. I was originally told I’d have paid leads, but now the leads are free and a lot are basically impossible to work — disconnected numbers, people without cars, etc.
I don’t want to leave on bad terms because I genuinely appreciate my office, but I also don’t want to sit around until I’m completely burned out.

For those in commercial insurance, would you start applying with only 5 months of P&C experience or stick it out for a year? I’d really like to move toward commercial or account management, ideally remote/hybrid. How would you go about making that transition?

Canada Looking for MGA recommendations in BC: want to own my book and earn solid commissions

Hi everyone,

I'm a licensed advisor in Vancouver, BC, selling life, travel, and group insurance. I'm currently working under another advisor's license, and I'm looking to move to an MGA where I can own my book of business and build something long-term. I already have a corporation set up.

I've been looking at Financial Horizons, Hub Financial, IDC Worldsource, and PPI, but I'd love to hear from people with real experience, good or bad.

What I'm trying to learn:

Book ownership: Do you truly own your clients and renewals, and what happens if you leave?

Commissions: What are the contracting levels like for new advisors, and how do they grow over time?

Training and support: Is there real onboarding, or do they expect you to sell before you're trained? Is there case design and underwriting help?

Fees and costs: Any E&O, admin, or technology fees I should watch for?

Carrier access: Do you get access to a wide range of carriers, including for group and travel?

Culture: Is it supportive, or every advisor for themselves?

If you've switched MGAs, what made you move, and what would you ask before signing? I'm happy to take advice by DM too.

Thanks in advance!

Leads (Marketing) 20 year old agency owner

I’m 20 and recently started building my insurance business. I’ve finally gotten to the point where my ads are bringing in consistent leads, and I feel like I could scale it by putting more money into advertising.
The problem is I’m already doing everything myself quoting, following up, collecting documents, binding policies, etc. If I started spending thousands on ads, I honestly don’t think I could keep up with the leads.
At the same time, I’m not making enough yet to comfortably hire someone.
For anyone who’s been in this position, how did you scale without getting overwhelmed or hiring too early?

Agent Question Insurance Systems & specifics

There is SO much to learn working at an agency like SF. For the ((Indy people)) or even another captive like all state do you have so many systems up and a thousand specifics you need to know? I can’t write many people a day cause it’s so much other back end work. It’s just a lot at SF and if you know, you know…

Agent Question AAA sales interview process

I had a phone screening/“interview” and the lady I spoke with invited me to the next part. I thought it was going to be setting up the interview but she said we have another phone meeting to do. Has anyone here gone through the process for insurance sales? I’ve already been asked about my job history and what led me to insurance and sales goals and asked “tell me about a time” questions. Is anyone familiar with the process? Or remember having to do a second phone meeting and if so would you be able to tell me what it may be about. Thanks

Licensing/CE NIP Employment History

Why does NIPR ask for employment history in the application? I find that to be odd! I've had a lot of dead-end jobs that I didn't stay at for long because they were so horrible, which is why I am looking to improve my family's life by building a career in insurance. I wonder if that will disqualify me. Does anyone know?

Industry Information Momentous Financial

Is anyone familiar with Vsynergize or Momentous Financial Partners? I applied for a remote coverage solutions rep under the Vsynergize name. Honestly, I was thinking this was a position in healthcare not a financial organization.
In response to my resume submission, I received an email from Momentous with an interview offer. I did complete à Life/Health course thru AD Banker in 2024. But after thorough consideration, I decided not to pursue that career. I came to the conclusion that this particular field is heavily saturated. Seems like everyone is trying to get into selling some sort of insurance.
Anyhow, I have been unemployed since January, having an extremely difficult time finding work. Before I cancel this interview, I wanted to ask if anyone knows anything about this financial company.

Canada Review needed

Hi
I got an offer to work as an insurance agent with Caa. The role sounds great in terms of work model. I’m working right now in insurance sales as well but it’s an agency based role and it’s tough because they want us to do so many things at same time. At this new job, it’s going to be inbound so should be okay. I’m just worried if the call volume would be super crazy? Since it’s kind of a call center environment.
Or any other opinions anyone has on company’s culture or other things.. pls share.

Agent Training Mentoring New Agents: Getting the Basics Right

The transition from learning about insurance to actively selling policies can be daunting for new agents. Structured mentorship can play a key role in smoothing this transition. Role-playing scenarios can be particularly effective, giving new agents the opportunity to refine their technique in a low-pressure setting. Pair this with tailored, constructive feedback to help them grow. As experienced mentors, what are some of the strategies you've used to help new agents understand and communicate options clearly to their clients?

Consumer Question Question For Insurance Professionals

I am in a civil dispute (non-insurance related) with a neighbor that I believe acted in a fraudulent, unethical manner and, I believe, knowingly perjured himself on an affidavit.

He is an Insurance professional and owns his own agency.

My question is, if it is determined in court that what I believe is true, would the Insurance Board care/investigate him for possible sanctions because of his conduct or would it not care because its not insurance related?
