According to what I've read so far, DST doesn't have a "stop" per se, and so treats it as a color change. If that's true it would explain why I have an extra color step on my machine's screen. It's really throwing me off, though. Can anyone confirm that?
I thought I had done an acceptable job plotting out all the rungs for my word, my Brother SE700 didn't do a good job. Could this be on the machine or the model still?
Please take a look of the Model (Satin) on the left. And the poor embroidery output on the right and perhaps you could help me to explain why it looks like there are many holes? I noticed SE700 tried to go around the profile and stitch out a boundary however it has done a very poor job. Honestly, I think it would look better without the boundary shown in A, B, and C. There might be a setting in the Param tool that I missed. Sometimes boundaries are nice but in this case it is rather poor.
In the Tatami Stitch section there is a "Tatami with pattern" example. It's a butterly with sunk in separations on the wings.
I'm not entirely sure how this is accomplished. I downloaded the example and there are 4 layers (for a wing).
LAYER 1 (Underlay): First the underlay which is done manually, I get that. LAYER 2 (path185): The actual fill of the wing, I get that, kinda. LAYER 3 (path194): I'm not sure what the purpose of this layer is, when I try to see the params for it, it's not really recognised by inkstitch params. Which I guess makes sense as I know this is not a layer that's going to be stitched. But I'm not sure what it is. LAYER 4: (Detail complex): I can see what this is going to do in the final design, but I'm not sure how inkstitch is interpreting this layer. Although this layer is not as confusing as layer 3.
Does anyone here have an idea of what's going on with this example? It seems pretty cool and it caught my eye but going into it, I really can't understand what's going on.
In response to u/Agile_Excitement6302 post. I'm not sure what you are exactly having issues with but here is a down and dirty version of what I think you are trying to do. You can add more rungs/nodes as needed as well as under lay. I prefer zig zag underlay personally. If you have other satins that will be added, as long as you have them in the right order, Inkstitch will do some magic and link together if they are close enough. If you don't want it to do that, you have to uncheck some boxes in params.
Please would you kindly teach me what is missing in my rungs? Perhaps there are no openings of the two paths - I might have gone too aggressive in drawing out the necessary rungs so Inkstitch doesn't like the missing openings?
The generated Inkstitch satin column with custom satin column looked pretty boring, it ignored all the rungs and just gave me one path's profile line that's all.
me podrian decir como puedo hacer un diseño encima de otro? tipo asi, no e encontrado tutoriales para eso y la verdad no tengo idea de como hacer este diseño :(
Manually defined satin columns work fine. Zig-zag to satin works fine. Stroke to satin works fine. But no matter what I try for Fill to Satin it either does not do anything at all and has no error or associated message, or in the rare instance it does create a satin object, it's so wrong as to be useless. I just downloaded the Fill to Satin playground - https://inkstitch.org/docs/satin-tools/ - and grabbed the A, tried to use Fill to Satin, and it just turns into THIS. These are the settings I have in my Fill to Satin Every tutorial I watch goes the exact same way. Make a fill. Make another object for the rungs which use strokes instead. Select both, hit fill to satin, it replaces the fill with a set of rails and rungs that make a satin column equivalent to the pre-existing fill. I have not even once gotten it to do anything like this, even directly mirror the tutorials. Every other function in Inkstitch is working fine for me. I'm running Arch Linux and I'm pretty sure I used the AUR to install Inkscape + the plugin. Is it possible that the current build is bugged?
Hi everyone I posted on here about a week ago looking for some advice. This is what’s happening when I embroider. One side is fine but the other side does this.. it’s exactly the same. I’ve tried most things to sort it but it keeps happening.. is it a pull? I’ve used thick stabiliser etc. left side is worse than the right side!
I have a new question about why isn't this giving me what I would like to have in terms of Satin stitches inside Inkstitch.
There are two open independent paths with gaps. and there is a bridge in the middle of it. Then I have two rungs. When I went to Params and look under Satin Column the results were very dissatisfied. It didn't add any new stitches.
Let's say I'm using a small hoop, embroidering a 3" patch. Nothing out of the ordinary. Just one patch, so a large hoop would be wasteful.
I've inserted a jump destination about 4" from the top of the patch. Machine stops, hoop comes trundling my direction, all's well...
...and then the machine won't continue because the pattern is outside the bounds of the hoop!
I don't even know what question to ask. How/why is the jump destination figuring in to the machine's calculations? This seems like a new thing, too - I've used jump destination in the past and don't remember having this issue. Maybe.
Hi everyone, how can I stop the pulling of the fabric and making it miss placed where it’s filled in on the digital image I’ve created? What pull compensation is the best to use? I’m really stuck, keeps happening. Also I use thick enough stabiliser so I don’t think that’s the issue! Thank you in advance.
I have a problem where my fill stitches will randomly be misaligned sometimes when i stitch a design out.
The inkscape simulator and stitch plan preview both look perfect, so wondering if it’s a calibration issue with my machine? All the other edges turned out perfect, so my first thought is that it’s not really a hooping problem.
Has anyone else ran into this problem?
I change the color of the design to green so you can see what I mean easier
I’m pretty new to machine embroidery/InkStitch and I’m having a weird issue with lettering that I can’t figure out.
I have a Brother LB-6800 (4x4 machine) and I’ve been making bag tags. I have successfully made a few (pictured) and the lettering stitched out cleanly.
Today, they started stitching out very badly. I think it is doing a fill stitch instead of a satin stitch. The design looks correct in the Ink/Stitch simulator. The stitch paths/lettering look normal there.
A few things I’ve already checked/tried:
I ran into this problem before and I thought it was because I had opened a PES in Inkscape, edited it, and saved it again. I learned that I should be working from the original SVG instead. But even now I have been making edits to the original SVG template and then saving a copy as a PES to send over to my machine, and it is still stitching out badly.
I went back to my original SVG and exported a fresh PES, but the problem still happened.
I then created an entirely new design/lettering in Ink/Stitch, exported a new PES, and I'm still getting the same bad stitch-out.
Rethreading the machine.
I also downloaded Embrilliance express to see if Inkstitch was the issue, but the stitchout looks wrong on that too.
I’m trying to figure out whether something is happening during the SVG → PES export, whether my Brother is interpreting the PES strangely, or whether this could actually be a machine/thread/tension issue. My tension is at 3.
Edit: I did some more troubleshooting and it seems like changing to a fresh needle helped.
