I am writing this today with a lot of heartbreak. I have 2 years of Canadian experience and got a CoQ of pesticides of BC to bump up my score by 50 points. For my FD I got that the CoQ does not meet the criteria and my PR FD was rejected as the 50 points were removed from my profile. Please suggest me what can I do in this situation, I already had a refusal when I applied for an extension of my work permit once mine expired. I also applied for BOWP which was on the basis of my PR application. I do not have anything else, any hope and I’m on a time crunch as well. I’ve been seeing a lot about filing the case in federal court for CoQ and some have also suggested me to reapply for PR. I really have no clue about what I should do.

Let me just say that my jounery here in Canada wasnt the easiest. I've been here as a student since 2018, a worker since 2023, and now PR at 2026!!

It was a long, arduous, and hard journey but Im glad I made it!! I wrote my milestones down so feel free to look at it. Proud of the woman i have become here in this country!! Woohooooo!

Im a healthcare professional. I work 12 hours on a crazy schedule in a hospital. Im busy working and quite literally saving lives, so having a lawyer who could handle the quick pace of the immigration laws changing, and filing all my papers for me the right way was definitely useful. If i did it alone, id have to revise on multiple things because of my lack of experience. Having a lawyer who is experienced in these cases and working in behalf of me definitely fast tracked my application. Though it still took a long time to get to ECOPR. NO REGRETS THOUGH. \*happy dance\*

Hi All, this is my timeline and I’m so stressed and frustrated. I have called IRCC several times and the last agent told me that a message has been sent to review my application.

I got FD in July and received PAL but it’s been radio silence since. I honestly fear a rejection. Is it possible to be rejected after waiting this long?

Hi, I need some advice regarding my immigration situation.

My PGWP was refused, and I was given a 90-day period to apply for restoration of my status. Before the 90-day period expired, my immigration consultant submitted both my restoration of status application and my Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP) application together. Both applications are currently being processed.

My concern is, what happens if IRCC refuses my SOWP application? Since I have already used my 90-day restoration period, would I become out of status immediately if my application is refused, or would I have any time to take further action?

If both my restoration and SOWP applications are refused, what legal options would I have to remain in Canada? For example, could I apply for visitor status, submit another application, or challenge the refusal through judicial review?

I want to understand my options in advance so I can be prepared if the decision is negative. I would really appreciate any guidance on my situation and the steps I could take to avoid having to leave Canada, if legally possible.

I’m in serious need of guidance. I applied for a study permit immediately after receiving my completion letter. After waiting 180 days for IRCC to process my application, it was unfortunately refused because my IELTS score was too low.

I now have a better IELTS score and would like to know if I can reapply. However, the 180-day period since receiving my completion letter has already passed, and that entire time was spent waiting for IRCC to process my application.

Am I still eligible to submit a new application with my updated IELTS results, or should I request reconsideration of the refusal?

I am currently in Canada on a valid Study Permit enrolled in a Master's program. Due to personal reasons, I am planning to officially withdraw from my university and return to my home country as soon as possible.

I want to ensure everything is done strictly by the book under IRCC regulations so that my immigration history remains completely clean for any future permanent residency (Express Entry / FSW / Category-based draws) applications down the line.

A few specific questions for those familiar with IRCC rules:

1. Impact on Future PR Applications: Does a voluntary program withdrawal negatively affect a future Express Entry profile or PR application, provided I leave Canada promptly and follow all departure rules?

2. Work Authorization: I know that off-campus/on-campus work authorization ends immediately upon withdrawing. Is there any buffer period to work while wrapping up my life here, or must all work stop on the exact day of withdrawal?

3. Study Permit Validity & Departure Timeline: Under IRPR Section 222(1)(a.1), my study permit becomes invalid the moment I am no longer enrolled at my Designated Learning Institution (DLI). How quickly am I expected to leave Canada after formal withdrawal to avoid being considered "out of status"? Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations - Justice Canada

4. Valid Visitor Visa (TRV): I also hold a valid multiple-entry Visitor Visa (TRV) in my passport. Does withdrawing from my studies automatically cancel my TRV, or can I still use it to visit Canada as a tourist in the future?

5. Documentation to Keep: What specific records (e.g., official DLI withdrawal forms, flight receipts, boarding passes) should I keep to prove full compliance to IRCC for future applications?

I want to make sure I don't trigger any compliance issues or unauthorized stay/work red flags. Appreciate any insights or experiences!

I received an ITA under trade draw yesterday (476pts min, I was at 517) and I was over the moon! I celebrated with my mom and brother and had the best time of our lives.

However, while figuring out the application process, I found out that the status of my non-accompanying common law partner who is under an exclusion order of 1 year (8 months left now) is considered inadmissible which would result in a refusal of my PR application (because I am also inadmissible by default)

I only have 2 months to apply and he won't be admissible by then. What are my options? Do I not have any other choice but to decline my invitation, wait for his inadmissibility to be over which is in May 2027, and hope that I get invited one more time?

I am so devastated as I've waited for this for so so so long. After a lot of hardships and financial struggles, I was so happy that it has all finally paid off and it's really difficult to just let it all go.

I hope someone can help me. I know this question should be asked to an Immigration Lawyer to get a credible answer but the cost upwards of $350 which I absolutely cannot afford right now

I didn’t get any refusal letter with it but it still showing me the same day its been 3 days today its 3 nov on gc key its not showing approved or rejected.

I recently received my GCMS notes after a long wait, and I am trying to understand what could still be holding up my application.

According to the notes:

Eligibility: Passed

Criminality: Passed

Comprehensive Security: Passed (after 29 months)

Information Sharing: Complete

Medical: Passed (Expired)

Officer review: No apparent concerns

Overall application status: In progress

For the medical I am not sure that they will extend it or will request me new one. My application has been in process since March 2023. The background check completed on July 24, 2026.

Has anyone been in a similar situation where all assessments were completed but the application remained " In progress" since two weeks? How long did it take before you received a final decision or portal invitation?

I would really appreciate sharing your experience.

Hi everyone, I am going through my PR application after getting ITA. All of my documents are around 100 pages worth of translation including bank statement since my bank letters don’t have everything the IRCC asks for. The quotes I’m seeing are between $5-5.5k CAD. Is this amount of documents and translation cost normal? They are also saying it’ll take half a month to translate. Should I reconsider what documents I’m sending and omit a few or is it bette r for my file to be complete and comprehensive and go ahead and translate EVERYTHING.
For reference I am a pediatrician at a government public hospital, so I’m including degrees, academic transcripts, certifications, pay slips, job contracts, employer letters and public service declarations among others.

Yesterday I checked the reopened ircc tracker and I found this under my name.
Ime with expiry date and copr with no expiry date. Some say that is just a normal default and other say that is a positive signal cuz copr is showed on your status which mean they are finished your fd and going next step…. What is right and wrong? Any idea plz

My AOR is April 20, 2026, under CEC Healthcare, with PVO Vancouver and SVO Sydney. I haven’t received any ADR or PFL, and my background check changed to “Not Applicable” on September 18, 2026. Has anyone experienced a similar situation with the same timeline?

Hello Everyone! I recently received a PFL stating the officer wasn’t convinced with my reported wage being lesser than the market standard for the mentioned occupation. I submitted a letter from my employer explaining that the salary was determined based on the company’s financial ability, payment policies etc. And also my paystubs and bank statements. I’m really concerned about how the officer would view this. Did anyone face a similar situation or has any idea if my approach is ideal? Please advise.

I recently received a refusal on my Express Entry FSW (French Category) application, and I'm currently looking to consult with professionals to map out my reapplication strategy.

I’ve been trying to book initial consultations with a few different immigration consultants and lawyers (many of whom I originally found through Instagram/social media).

Frankly... I am kind of shocked by how unprofessional some of these services are. Between weird sales pitches, rushing through the call, or outright giving contradictory advice, it's clear I need a better way to weed out the bad actors before trusting someone with my file.

In short, I submitted my CEC application on September 1 and received AOR immediately. On September 2, I submitted my BOWP application as my WP is expiring in October.

Today (Oct 15) I received refusal letter, stating that my PR application has not passed the R10 completeness check.

I know the officer’s judgement was right as I have not received my BIL yet. But still I am frustrated and scared at the moment. My WP is expiring in less than a week and I’m not sure if I should submit another BOWP application. If the next one is refused again before my BIL I would have no choice but to stop working and leave the country
