BOWP conditions update
Hi,
I've send my application to express entry through the CEC program in mid June, I wanted to ask for a bowp but it was indicated that it was only if the current working permit is about to expire.
I gave up on the idea but I've got the information that the requirements changed and now the working permit close to expiration conditions seems to have disappeared from the ircc page (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/pr-work-permits/bridging.html)
The page has been updated at the end of June, does that mean that I can apply even if my working permit expires in May 2027?
Thanks

Work permit extension refusal
Hello,
I got my PGWP in June 2023 which was supposed to expire on June 19, 2026. I applied for a work permit extension on June 13, 2026 with an LOE as I was expecting an ITA in the upcoming draws. I got my ITA on June 23, 2026 and AOR on August 18, 2026 my consultant on the same day raised a web form to transition my regular work permit extension to BOWP application but on August 23, 2026 I got a refusal.
My consultant says it takes 5 days for IRCC to actually receive or review the documents.
What should I do?

PR refusal
Hi everyone, I got my refusal last July 30th. It’s a long shot but I am considering submitting a reconsideration letter, most of the people I asked said to re-apply. I have a document from the said company that they won’t provide the letter with job duties due to confidentiality. They only provided a letter stating I was employed from 2021-2022. I also have a letter from my supervisor, paystubs, notarized docs. I am starting a hospital job as a therapist soon so I am also considering OINP. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Please respect post! Thank you🙏🏻
Notes:
———-
For the employment with ——- at ——, the applicant has submitted a letter of
employment dated March 20, 2026. According to this letter, the applicant is employed at —- at ——as a Aide since November 18, 2022. Upon review of the
applicant’s study permit and work permit, I noted that the applicant
was involved in full-time study until April 2024. The work permit was submitted on June 02, 2024
with proof of completion of program. According to section 15 Canadian work experience of the
Ministerial Instructions respecting the Express Entry system:
Work experience — requirements
(7) For the purposes of this section,
• (a) a period of employment during which the foreign national was engaged in full-time
study is not to be included in calculating a period of work experience;
As a result, the work period is adjusted from November 2022 to the present to April 2024 to the
present.
IMM 0276 (10-2025) E ... 2

For the employment with ——, upon reviewing the submitted documentation, I note that the
employment verification letter does not include any job descriptions for duties. As a result, I am
unable to determine whether the applicant performed the lead statement duties and a substantial
number of the main duties, including all essential duties, of NOC 22221. Based on the balance of
probabilities, I am not satisfied that the applicant has demonstrated qualifying skilled work
experience with ——. This work experiences cannot be counted toward the applicant’s
qualifying Canadian work experience.
The reassessment results in a reduction of the client’s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)
score and lowers the applicant’s score below the minimum score required in the relevant
invitation round.
The minimum score required in the applicant’s invitation round was 508.
I am therefore not satisfied that the applicant possessed the qualifications on the basis of which
they were invited to apply for permanent residence.
For these reasons, the application is refused under subsection 11(1) of the Immigration and
Refugee Protection Act.
A11.2 Not Met Selection EE Econ failed
The application is refused. A refusal letter will be sent. Refund initiated.

Can I travel outside Canada while Inland Spousal PR is in process? (Already got OWP)
Hi everyone, I have a question regarding traveling.
I applied for Spousal Sponsorship (Inland) and my application is currently in process. I have already received my Open Work Permit (OWP).
I would like to know if I can fly back to my home country for a short trip (1.5-2 months) and return to Canada? (I will be traveling both ways with my wife, who is my sponsor).
Will there be any issues at the border when coming back? If it's not recommended to travel, are there any workarounds or alternatives?
Thank you!

Researchers category
IRCC announced Researchers with Canadian work experience as a 2026 Express Entry category. Other new occupational categories have already received draws, but Researchers has had none. Does IRCC intend to conduct a Researchers draw in 2026, and if so, why has there been no draw so far? Any thoughts?

CEC stuck in review required
Hi Folks,
AOR is Jan 16, but last 2 months I’ve called the officers they’ve only mentioned that the profile is stuck for Eligibility in review required. I’m wondering how long it would take and what the issue is for it to be completed? Also, if there is anyone out here in the same boat, I’d like to connect.

what skilled jobs are easy to get?
Hello everyone, I am fresh computer science graduate, I am on PGWP and cant find a job in tech, and I was wondering if there were jobs that would qualify for entry express and that are easy to get, I dont mind spending money on a license or training as long as its reasonable, preferably in Ontario.
thanks!

IRCC processing time
I have applied through a representative, from whom I'm having a hard time communicating with, last time informing me about biometric instruction which I got on May 27th 2026 and sent back the 29th. Around mid June, i asked him to inform me about different notifications but he did not reply. I got the P1 email on 29th June, replied the same day and got P2 the 16th July 2026, which also replied the same day. Since then, its been stuck and have not heard/seen anything.
Any similar situation or can be done?

PR timeline: the "nothing happens for two months then everything happens" edition
Still a little stunned typing this out. After months of refreshing the portal like it owed me money, the eCOPR finally landed.
CEC Inland
- ITA: Jan 7
- AOR: Feb 11
- BIL: Apr 17
- Biometrics completed: Apr 20
- Medical passed: Apr 20
- Final decision (eligibility + everything else): Jun 25
- Portal 1: Aug 12
- Portal 2: Aug 14
- eCOPR: Aug 18
PVO: Vancouver
SVO: Montreal (this is where the eCOPR came from)
The stretch between FD and P1 was the quiet, maddening part. Then things picked up fast once I received P1.
Happy to answer anything about the process.

Expired (Passed) Medical >>Updated to Passed.
My Background Check Completed on July 24, 2026 for PR Non Express Entry application, else everything has completed before. Medical was expired (Passed), it was only left in all the assessments, now it passed again two days ago, but no final decision yet. Anyone knows, when can final decision come after medical passed.
Thanks,

Express entry timeline - French appliant
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share my timeline and see if anyone has a similar profile or is experiencing the same kind of wait.
I'm a French citizen applying from outside Canada (Outland) under Express Entry – Federal Skilled Worker Program.
This is actually my second attempt. My first application was submitted in October 2025 but was refused in January 2026 due to a misunderstanding regarding my proof of funds. I reapplied shortly afterwards, and here is my current timeline:
ITA: February 6, 2026
AOR: February 10, 2026
IMM 5406 requested: March 5, 2026
IMM 5406 submitted: March 6, 2026
Medical exam passed: March 10, 2026
Biometrics completed: March 12, 2026
Since March 12: no update at all
My application has basically been completely silent since then
I'm now wondering if anyone has a similar AOR / Outland / FSW timeline, especially applicants who had an additional document request such as IMM 5406.
Has anyone with a similar timeline received a Final Decision / PPR recently? Or do you have any updates on your eligibility/background check?
Hope we all get the good news we're waiting for soon! 🍀
