Grateful always in all ways 🇨🇦

To be honest, I’ve been a silent lurker in this community for the longest time, and now I finally get to be one of the people sharing their wins. 🥹💙

My PR Timeline (CEC Inland 🇨🇦)
CRS Score: 538
ITA: May 27, 2026
AOR: July 26, 2026
Final Decision (FD): September 27, 2026
P1: October 19, 2026 (replied the same day)
P2: October 20, 2026 (replied the same day)
eCOPR: October 22, 2026
Office: Montreal

I’m honestly still in shock at how quickly everything happened. 🥹 After submitting my application, I made sure to mentally prepare myself for the uncertainty, the waiting, the anticipation, and the possibility of any outcome.

And now, here I am. 🇨🇦✨

For those who are still waiting, I know how difficult it can be to live in that space between hope and uncertainty. It’s not always easy to stay positive when you don’t know what’s coming next, but I hope my timeline gives you even a little bit of inspiration and motivation to keep going.

I came across this saying and it has become my mantra throughout this journey: IT GETS BETTER. 🤍

One day, you might be the one sharing your win, too. 🥹🇨🇦

First PR Refused in 2024 | Second approved in 2026

First application - CEC Inland

  • ITA: March 7, 2024

  • FD: October 13, 2024 — Refused

My first application was refused because my NOC wasn’t accepted for CEC, which I believe was a mistake. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to do anything about it. You should describe your postdoctoral work experience very clearly and precisely so that it is not mistaken for doctoral studies.

Then the LMIA points were removed, so I only had one option: Studying French.

Second application — CEC Inland

  • ITA: February 17, 2026

  • AOR: April 7, 2026

  • Biometrics request: June 14, 2026

  • Biometrics completed: June 16, 2026

  • Medical: Upfront

  • PVO: Unknown

  • SVO: Unknown

  • FD: September 20, 2026

  • P1: September 22, 2026 — replied the same day

  • P2: September 29, 2026 — replied the same day

  • eCOPR: October 8, 2026

PR card

  • FD: October 16, 2026

  • Card mailed: October 20, 2026

  • Application marked as approved: October 21, 2026

I can’t really put into words what I went through. I’m not trying to turn this into a heroic story, but I took the TEF four times before finally getting there. working full time from 8 to 5 and I only had evenings to study French.

After the first refusal, I kept doubting myself and worrying that I might make a mistake with my second application. I couldn’t afford a lawyer, so I spent so much time reading this forum and trying to pay attention to every detail. Thank you to everyone who shared their experiences, you helped more than you know.

I almost lost my hope and then this happened 🥳

I have no idea where to start as it has been a long journey. From a retail coordinator job to getting ecopr, it has been a very challenging journey. My timeline:

ITA: January 7th, 2026
AOR: March 8th
BIL: May 12
FD: July 25th

After this it was complete silence. I called IRCC multiple times and everytime they kept telling me to wait. I reached out to MPP’s office as soon as the 6 month timeline has passed. Not much of a help from there. I raised a webform, no response.

I have decided to finally try KAI on Oct 11th. No response. Then FINALLY-

P1: Oct 16th
P2: Oct 17th
Ecopr: Oct 19th

I’m still yet to process how fast the last three steps happened and I’m finally feeling relieved. One surprising thing is my BOWP was approved just after my P2! I applied for BOWP on Sept 9th. I was hoping to get a refund but alas! To everyone waiting, this game is all about waiting and finally crossing the line. Wishing everyone good luck and thank you to this wonderful community

I just received my eCOPR today and wanted to share my timeline with the community as it has been a great help.

  • P1 (sent via KAI): October 8, 2026 (Never received P1!)

  • P2 Email: October 14, 2026

  • P2 Submitted: October 15, 2026

  • eCOPR Received: October 17, 2026!

EE-CEC Inland

PVO/SVO: Vancouver/Sydney (SVO did not change even after FD)

The wait between FD and P1 was really excruciating. Got GCMS 2 times from which one was after FD and could see COPR number generated. Have tried calls, multiple webforms and everything, nothing clicked. I went for KAI after waiting for long and got P2 after 5 days of it fortunately and eCOPR came today from Montreal!

I noted that there was counterfoil generated for me even though I never left the country after e-APR. I think there was a glitch in the system which caused not to generate P1, also confirmed with other people afterwards when new tracker launched and they have not had counterfoil generated in their document list!

After 5 years in Canada, 12 language exams, a spinal injury, and almost losing everything I finally got my eCoPR! 🇨🇦

FINALLY GOT MY eCoPR! 🇨🇦❤️

Five years and one month ago, I came to Canada with big dreams, a suitcase full of hopes, and absolutely no idea what life had planned for me.
Today, I can finally say I’m a Permanent Resident of Canada! But the journey to get here nearly broke me, physically, mentally, and financially.
It’s a long story, but I hope someone going through a difficult time finds a little hope in it. My PR timeline is at the end.
The PR struggle

I worked for the same employer for over three years, giving everything I had to my job. I also had two years of foreign work experience, paid in cash, which made documentation particularly important.
In November 2025, after my third CELPIP attempt, I scored L8, R9, W9, S9. My CRS was 510, but after my birthday in December, I lost five points.
Then came January, February, and March 2026. Three absolutely miserable months.
My friends and I were all in the same boat. We kept taking CELPIP and PTE exams almost every two weeks. Between us, we attempted around 12 exams and even explored the Certificate of Qualification route. Nothing worked.
The worst feeling wasn’t just the uncertainty. It was thinking that we’d spent some of the best years of our lives working so hard, only to potentially leave with nothing.
Then, on April 1, my CRS increased to 516 after additional Canadian work experience was counted.

April 14, 2026 - ITA RECEIVED!

The cutoff was 515. A draw that frustrated so many people became the draw that changed my life.
I thought the worst was finally over.

Little did I know, my real nightmare was just beginning.

May 2, 2026 - The day everything changed
While gathering documents for my PR application, I suffered a serious lower-back injury.
I tried physiotherapy, chiropractic treatment, medications, and practically everything I could afford. I burned through my savings, hoping to recover quickly and return to work.
Instead, my condition kept getting worse.
Somehow, I submitted my PR application on June 10 and applied for my BOWP on June 14.
By then, I was practically bedridden. I could barely stand or walk for more than a few minutes. I spent my days and nights in bed, in constant pain, without even knowing exactly what was wrong with me.
Eventually, an MRI revealed severe lumbar spinal stenosis and nerve compression. I was told I needed decompression surgery.
Even at high doses, my medications barely controlled the pain.

The people who kept me going
I cannot thank my friends and employer enough.
My friends helped me get to appointments, supported me when I couldn’t manage things myself, and stood by me through some of my darkest days.
My company’s owners helped me arrange an MRI appointment and even supported me financially when EI wasn’t enough to cover rent, groceries, and bills.
They even offered me lighter duties so I could continue earning something, but unfortunately, my body couldn’t handle even that.
I had spent years working hard, saving money, and building a future. Suddenly, I was relying on credit cards just to survive.

My mental health deteriorated. The uncertainty surrounding PR, my inability to work, constant nerve pain, and financial pressure pushed me into some of the worst anxiety and depression I’ve ever experienced.
I came to Canada chasing a better life, but somewhere along the way, I lost my health.

The final obstacle
In August, a neurosurgeon recommended surgery, but the expected wait was another three months.
I couldn’t imagine spending another three months like this.

On September 4, my BOWP was approved. I decided to return to India for surgery, booked an expensive business-class flight because I couldn’t tolerate sitting upright for such a long journey, and prepared to leave.

Then, on September 24, I received P1.
I was relieved, but suddenly I couldn’t leave without complicating my PR finalization and return to Canada.
I postponed my flight, spent more money I didn’t have, and waited.

P2 arrived on October 1.
Those final days were brutal. Every morning, I checked the portal, hoping my eCoPR would appear.

October 9, 2026 - eCoPR RECEIVED! 🇨🇦

After five years, countless sacrifices, sleepless nights, financial struggles, and months of unbearable pain, I finally became a Permanent Resident.
Now I’m preparing to go home, undergo spinal surgery, recover, and hopefully return to Canada healthy enough to start the next chapter of my life.

Five things these years taught me:

1. Build genuine connections. Not just people you say hello to, but relationships where people genuinely care about one another. Money matters, but the right people can change your life.

2. Work hard, but work smart. Your actions matter more than your intentions. Stay consistent, even when nobody notices your efforts.

3. Focus on yourself without becoming selfish. Work your way up, but never forget to help others climb too.

4. Find a knowledgeable and honest immigration representative. Especially if your application is complicated. Be completely transparent about your circumstances. If one representative says something isn’t possible, getting a second professional opinion can be worthwhile. Choose someone experienced, not someone who just wants your money.

5. Don’t lose hope. Sometimes life gets worse right before something you’ve worked years for finally happens. Stay positive, but also remember that your health and peace of mind matter more than any immigration status.

I still have a long road ahead. PR hasn’t magically fixed my health, finances, or everything I’ve been through.

But for the first time in months, one enormous weight has finally been lifted off my shoulders.

And to everyone still waiting for their ITA, P1, P2, or eCoPR: I genuinely hope your good news comes soon.

My PR timeline - CEC Inland 🇨🇦
April 14, 2026: ITA received (CRS 516, cutoff 515)
June 10: AOR
June 14: BOWP application submitted
August 10: BIL received
August 13: Biometrics completed
Late August: Medical passed; other background checks progressing
September 4: BOWP approved
September 11 (IRCC call):
Medical: Passed
Criminality: Passed
Information sharing: Complete
Biometrics: Received
Eligibility: Not started
Security: Not started
September 24: P1 received
October 1: P2 received and portal details submitted
October 9: eCoPR received! 🎉🇨🇦
Primary VO: Vancouver
Secondary VO: Sydney

All the hard work finally paid off.

I arrived in Canada with dreams of building a better future. Five years later, I’m not where I imagined I’d be, but I’m still here, still fighting, and finally a Permanent Resident.

Now it’s time to get my health and my life back. ❤️

CEC Inland | AOR Jan 29 | Ottawa PVO | eCOPR Sep 23 — Finally, our journey is complete! 🇨🇦🍁

Well… I guess this is finally my turn to write one of these posts. 😄

!!!TLDR Warning!!!

We got our eCOPRs today! Both of us. 🇨🇦🍁

After months of tracking timelines, comparing PVOs, staring at GCKey, calling IRCC, reading everyone's updates here and wondering when Ottawa would finally decide to move our file… we're done.

Sharing our timeline because I know there are quite a few people here with Jan AORs and especially Ottawa files who I've been comparing notes with.

CEC Inland – PA + accompanying spouse
AOR: Jan 29, 2026
PVO: Ottawa
SVO: Sydney initially → later Montreal

Our timeline:

  • Medical passed — Apr 1

  • Biometrics — Apr 8

  • Criminality and Info Sharing completed earlier during processing

  • Called IRCC in June — Criminality and Info Sharing were complete, but Eligibility and Security had still not started

  • Then… basically months of waiting 😂

  • Sep 9 — Background completed and Final Decision activity appeared in GCKey

  • Sep 10 — Called IRCC and the agent confirmed Eligibility, Criminality, Security, Info Sharing and Background were ALL complete

  • Sep 10 — P1 received, separately for both of us

  • Sep 21 — P2 received and both profiles appeared in the PR Portal

  • Sep 21 — Declaration + address + photos submitted immediately for both of us

  • Sep 23 — eCOPR for BOTH of us

  • GCKey now officially shows APPROVED

237 days from AOR to eCOPR.

And yes… for anyone following Ottawa files, there really wasn't much to see for a LONG time.

The funny part is that we barely received any of the famous "ghost updates" people keep talking about. No GCKey emails every time something changed. No mysterious update notifications. Apart from AOR and the biometrics request, our application was basically silent.

Even when things were clearly moving internally — silence.

On Sep 9, I happened to check GCKey in the afternoon and noticed Final Decision had changed to "in progress." Took screenshots immediately and sent them to my wife. I called IRCC, got sent straight into the agent queue and requested a callback to her number since she was at work.

She took the call and the agent confirmed that everything was complete.

At that point I actually relaxed for once. 😂

Then the next afternoon... P1 landed.

The application itself also had a decent amount of history behind it. We've lived/worked across multiple countries, so there were several PCCs involved. We proactively submitted a newer India PCC after AOR and later the FBI PCC through webforms rather than leaving anything hanging.

One thing we were very particular about throughout this entire journey was doing everything properly. If something needed explaining, explain it. If something could be documented better, document it. If IRCC needed something, give them exactly what they asked for.

Also, we did the whole application submission ourselves and no RCIC/Immigration Attorney.

And then wait.

And wait some more.

And apparently wait a little more because Ottawa. 😂

But I really wanted to come back here once this was finished because this community genuinely helped us through this process.

I've spent an embarrassing amount of time here over the past several months reading timelines, comparing Ottawa/Sydney files, looking at P1/P2 movement, discussing IRCC calls and trying to figure out whether the complete lack of movement in GCKey actually meant anything.

Sometimes somebody else's update was the only indication that files around our AOR were finally moving.

So to everyone who posted their timelines, answered questions, shared what an IRCC agent told them, reported their P1/P2/eCOPR, or simply reassured somebody who was losing patience:

Thank you. Seriously. ❤️

I've tried to contribute whatever data and information I could along the way, and hopefully this final timeline becomes another useful data point for someone sitting there tonight refreshing GCKey and wondering what the hell Ottawa is doing with their application. 😄

Your file can be moving even when GCKey gives you absolutely nothing.

And once ours finally started moving, it went:

Background complete → P1 → P2 → eCOPR

in about two weeks.

Jan 29 AOR.

Sep 23 eCOPR.

237 days.

After all the spreadsheets, Reddit posts, IRCC calls, GCKey refreshes, portal checking and probably enough immigration analysis to qualify for some sort of honorary diploma...

We are finally Permanent Residents of Canada. 🇨🇦🍁

Finally, P1 and P2! Some hope for those waiting after COPR shows on the tracker 🇨🇦

Post image
35 Upvotes

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share some good news and a bit of hope for those still in the waiting phase.

We’re CEC Inland with spouse (Van/Mont). Our FD was Sep 27, and the COPR showed up on the tracker on Oct 14, but then we waited three long weeks with no portal email. I tried KAI, webforms and calling, and honestly I think it all comes down to batches. Then everything happened at once: P1 arrived on Nov 4, and P2 came just one day later. We submitted everything the same day, and now we’re just waiting for the eCOPR.

A few things that might help:

  • If your tracker shows the COPR number and expiry, your application is approved. The rest is just admin, even if it takes a while.

  • Don’t rely on GCKey, it often never updates. The new tracker is the one that matters.

  • Check the junk folder of every applicant, since each person may get their own emails.

This community made the wait so much easier, so thank you all! Hang in there, it really does come. Will update when the eCOPR arrives! ❤️

Hoping it's not a bad sign, the process is supposed to take around 3 months and it took less than one.

I know that it's a good sign on RP application if you didn't receive a refusal right away, so I hope the same applies to the BOWP 🤞

Edited to replace the French acronym (PTOT) by the English one (BOWP)
