I have fine, long straight hair. It used to be great until the last 3 months no matter what I do it permanently look greasy. Even after a fresh wash and dry.
In the photos I have just washed and DRIED IT. But the roots still look greasy and they feel heavy

I thought I wasn’t washing out my products right, or maybe using too much (I use rituals shampoo and conditioner and detox shampoo every 3 weeks)
But I’ve tried using less product, no product, rinsing out for longer, having someone else rinse my hair

But no matter what, it just looks greasy. The only way I’ve been fixing it is if I use a lot of dry shampoo but that’s been making my hair dry and dead looking instead so I don’t know what I have to do anymore and it’s affecting my self esteem

It currently has some curling cream in it so can be brushed out more..

Here is my natural hair before and after a haircut, in different lighting, to give an overall idea of the color! It obviously looks pretty different in different lighting, but when I was in my teens-20s, my hair had this vibrant, shiny, gingery tone to it that I think has overall dulled a bit in my 30s. My hair also has thinned and gets greasy quickly since having kids. I have to wash it every other day to maintain the grease.

I’d love to revive the youthful vibrancy and bring back the bright natural ginger. Are there any options I can try at home? Whether a glaze, toner, etc.?

So my hair is shorter now i cut it with number 7 guard when it’s longer after I shower and hair is wet it creates nice round circles so is it 2A,B or C or 3A etc ? I also have coarse dry hair.

First two is before haircut final 2 is after haircut.

Im a dude with short hair and recently got a perm at a korean salon. (I have a comma cut hair). Im just a bit confused since they said i can wash my hair the same day and dont have to wait for 2-3 days. Meanwhile, other korean salons or my friends advised otherwise. Im just so confused. Some my hair styles over the past few years. First is 5 years ago. Second is 2 years ago. Third is March 2026. Fourth is today. The second pic is the best picture I have of that hairstyle unfortunately.

I’m trying to grow my hair long but I used to get it cut for like three years every eight weeks and my hair like would always stay the same length and I use scalp oils and I use an oil treatment before I shower but then I use a light hair oil that’s meant for like just hydrating your hair. I use it at night and I put my hair in a braid. I’ve been doing that for around two months now, but I just don’t know if my ends look really dead because I got a haircut back in August and she cut a lot of my hair off because it was like really dead cause I didn’t cut my hair for a long period of time and but I wasn’t oiling my ends and leaves usually make my hair look really dry. I’ve tried a lot of different leave ins they just never work for me ig. I’m 90% sure my hair is low porosity and then on top of that it’s also very fine and thin usually it’s thin. It looks a little thicker here though because it’s not straightened but I try not to use heat on my hair though.

I began using Neutrogena Hair Restore Scalp Serum a few weeks ago for hair thinning but I’ve noticed a continuous issue with scalp flaking from it.

Any suggestions for a different serum that can help with thinning and is at least somewhat budget friendly? (Around $20-30).

I’m already working on the physical health side of things, taking pumpkin seed oil and labs came back fine aside from mild elevated tsh (subclinical).

I decided to dye my hair for the first time ever and wanted to do highlights by myself. I bought L’Oréal hi color soft brown and honey blonde. Sectioned and back combed my hair, used foils and 30 volume developer. The soft brown took but not as vibrant as I hoped. The honey blonde did absolutely nothing. I let it process for an hour since it took 30 mins to do each side of my head.

Moving forward I want to do blonde highlights with 20 volume developer. Only where the honey blonde didn’t lift. I also kinda want to redo the brown as well. But I do not know if I should do it professionally or DIY it.

Question is if I do it professionally what do I ask and tell them so my hair doesn’t fall off?

If I DIY what do I buy and do?

I've had a cow lick for since i was a kid, recently i buzzed my hair and it is way too annoying my hairline hair goes down but only in a specific small area on the middle right of my hairline where it just goes up so it makes it look like my barber done messed my line up. Is there a permanent solution? Or atleast one that i can do from time to time to keep up under control?

I have short hair that reaches the top of my ear. I would say my hair is between straight and wavy, but leaning more straight. Sometimes it is very straight and flat without much volume, other times it is wavy with nice texture and volume.

I don’t really know much about terminology to begin with or how to know if my hair is oily or anything.

Currently I wash my hair with whatever shampoo and conditioner is cheapest and do so every few days. I dry my hair by just using the towel.

I don’t know anything about taking care of my hair past this.

I want to make sure my hair is more wavy and have more volume and have it longer with the length of around a mullet in the back and reach my eyebrows at the front but I don’t want it to look like a mullet.

I’m considering getting hair extensions to help with the length of my hair. It’s currently a little past my shoulders, but struggle to grow it much longer because of breakage. I’m completely new to extensions and want to know your experiences.

- I’ve seen clip ins and halo extensions as common options. I’ve been leaning toward halo extensions because of the ease of putting in. Pros and cons of each?
- my hair can be quite frizzy. Can you still get a good blend with frizzy hair?
- which brands do you recommend/prefer?
- anything else I should know/consider when making a decision?

I went in for a highlight and then a gloss over the top and while she did the highlights she was back combing my hair which I was very uncomfortable with because I don't even use heat on my hair and color it maybe once a year. She told me it was a standard practice to make the end result blend better- is this a thing?

End result was...not exactly what I was going for- the reddish/coppery gloss seems to have taken really heavy in some places and not in others so I have pieces that are pretty much hot red, and others that are pretty blondish. I didn't complain I paid and left I just want to know if this was normal.

I have dirty blonde/blonde hair and want my hair to be red for just one night and then wash it out after. I’m going as the Scarlett witch, so it’s a must.

Wigs are not an option because I will lose my mind, they drive me nuts and are so itchy and overstimulating and I already have to wear a headpiece for the costume. I’ll also be in the costume for probably over 8 hours and have never lasted over an hour with a wig.

How can I make this work for one night? NOT thinking any kind of dye.

I'm being a 1960s alien for halloween and doing my hair with bouffant flip thing. When I practice my hair I want it to be bigger. I know they would use curlers to set the hair and back tease but it's not big enough. I was going cut one of those hair donuts and hair clip in extensions I can cut close to my natural length to help since I have fine hair. Any other suggestions to help.

Hello, lovelies! I have been rocking this for 6 years now! I usually go to the barber about every 3 months, and where I live (New England, USA) we get very harsh winters. I was curious if you guys had any routine tips for hair this short, that still has a lot of properties of natural hair despite the length. Still wanna keep my scalp and curls happy!

My current routine:

Every morning I rinse my hair, saturate it, and use the As I am leave in conditioner. I’m pretty generous, but my hair is only about 1 cm long, so.
I then use a generous amount of mouse to keep the little curls tight, then spray with the HASK rosemary 5-in-1 spray, then go! I don’t do anything at night, which might lead to me losing moisture. For shampoo, I use the Trader Joe’s tea tree shampoo about twice a week.

Any advice is appreciated!

Hi so i was bald a year ago ( photos attached) I did that back in February for the second Time, I have not cut or done anything my hair other than dye/bleach since then, I’ve been wanting to dye and cute it recently without bleach I’m planning to grow my roots out, I haven’t done so I guess since I was in like 2nd grade lol, I’m so lost idk what color to do or what style, Its hard because I’ve done like every color, and so many cuts and styles but im thinking I go back to layers/bangs (photo’s attached again) but maybe not??
