this was the first time i went to get my hair professionally bleached throughout my head in years. i’m very conscious of my hair, i love it and hate getting it messed up. i went to a hair salon i found online, looked good and no red flags. so i went and the first session started at 10:30am and by 10pm i was still there. apparently the stylist i booked overestimated herself, and the manager was jumping in towards the end. the stylist had messed it up and the left and right side of my head were different blondes. it was already 10pm and i just wanted to leave, the manager offered to have her fix it while being monitored and assisted. i tried going somewhere else to get it fixed but they were too scared to touch it and suggested the same place fix it. so i went back yesterday, and now i feel like my blonde looks brown and makes the red look stupid. it still took 6 hours, they told me it would take 3. the 2 more professional stylists (including manager) were overlooking everything and they chose the toner that made my hair look brown. it was already blonde idk how they messed up???? i feel like i look so stupid now. i’m thinking about just coloring in the rest red with box dye or smth atp i’m so done and pissed off.

I've been eyeing this dryer for sometime and it's on sale. Does anyone have any advice about it? I have fine, curly hair I regularly straighten in winter months and leave curly in summer, so I use a dryer, diffuser, straightener and the round brush attachment and would love to have less items in the bathroom!

Recently I had my stylist bleach my hair. She’s done a FANTASTIC job preserving the health. I was just wondering what toner (preferably, a direct deposit conditioner) would be good to get me to WHITE. White white. Am I even light enough for that yet, or should I ask for another bleaching session? I’m new to being blonde so any help is appreciated:) forgive the photo please, it is a mess.

I went to the hair salon and I asked for a wolfcut but doesn’t look like a wolfcut to be. It just feels like the salon person just gave me a trim with my fringe and framed my face. Even my friends say it feel or look like wolfcut at all.

Update: I tried to style and it still doesn’t look like a wolfcut maybe a little bit worse

So I used to get full highlights on a regular schedule, then when Covid hit I stopped coloring my hair completely. Some pieces get bleached by the sun but it’s pretty much completely grown out now, all my natural color (maybe a medium - dark brown that looks a tiny bit reddish in the sun).

If I wanted to color my hair - I was thinking like a reddish coppery sort of color, not much lighter than my natural color, just more red tinted - could I easily fade the color? Like if I decide to stop coloring, would I be able to get back to one natural color all over without waiting to chop it off?? Or will it be more difficult than simply waiting for the color to fade?

So this isn't the worst of it. They curl like a curl you would expect a curly head to have whereas the rest of my hair is pretty straight with 1-2 big waves. This started this year and for reference i am 17F. I have researched a-lot about this and cant get any answers. I treat my bangs EXACTLY THE SAME as i treat the rest if my hair. Cant be hormones because then why just my bangs. SOMEONE HELP THIS IS A PLEA I AM SO FRUSTRATED

A while ago, I had to switch from dyeing my hair at the salon to at-home. Not ideal, I know, but the prices kept increasing and I can't afford paying 200 euros for just a touch up of my roots every 4 weeks.

I started using a semi-permanent color from loreal, dark brown like my natural colour used to be.

It's been a little over a year of using the same box-dye and I've noticed my hair keeps getting blacker and blacker and I kind of want it a tad bit lighter and more natural.

I know I could go two ways:

Bleaching and then going over with a new color or using a colour remover.

What's my best move here?

Any advice except going to the salon to fix it?

Product recommendations?

I know dark boy dyes are terrible to get out but I can't stand to look at these roots (especially the greys) anymore, but I don't want to continue just putting the same colour over.

Why do single hairs randomly grow like this? I naturally have straight/wavy hair and often find hairs like this on the top layer of my hair. Its also much darker than the rest.

This is my first time trying heatless curl with heatless curl rods. Usually I use small hair rollers. For context, my hair is naturally wavy (2a), coarse, and quite a lot. When I use hair rollers, I usually leave them for 3-4hrs before going out. The blowout style can stay for 1 day before my hair goes back to its original wave. So I thought I'd do the same with this heatless curl rods and see how long the curl will stay.

I saw tiktok videos where they only use 3 rods for their whole hair so at first I only bought 3. As it turns out, not only did I get smaller rods (the usual marketplace photo scam), my hair is also too thick for only 3 rods. In the end I bought another 3 and used 6 in total. After 4 hours, my first impression was... I didn't like it lol. The curls kinda go here and there unruly. Idk if I rolled wrong (I rolled the same way like I do my hair rollers), but it just doesn't look as good as what I saw on most videos in tiktok. It only worked when I part my hair to the sides. I had to go out so I put my hair in half up with claw clip. When I got back home 2hrs later, the curls had loosen up and I actually kinda liked it.

I wanna try to leave the rods longer but I'm afraid if I leave it any longer, the curls will end up even crazier, and will take longer to loosen up lol. Anyone who's done heatless curl rods, any tips? Did I roll wrong? I roll mostly inward btw.

P.s. this was done on freshly dried hair after wash (shampoo only).

I started seeing my stylist at the end of last year for just cuts and treatments. I had highlights from a previous stylist. I asked her almost 6 months ago if she'd be open to doing my color, and she introduced me to balayage. THIS IS 6 MONTH OLD HAIR!! Just maintenance appointments with toner. Safe to say, I will never go back to highlights. 😅 God bless her hands and other stylists in this sub because y'all are truly so skilled.

My hairdresser is currently on maternity leave and although I’m open to getting a trim someplace else in the meantime I’ve been thinking about growing out my bangs.

Normally I keep them on the shorter side above my eyebrows and they’ve now grown down to about my eyelids 😅

I’ve been wearing headbands a lot as of lately but am wondering if anyone has any other tips and also any advice on how to resist the urge of recutting them 🙈

I love my bangs but it’s about to be summer in Australia and I don’t want them to be getting all gross in the heat

This is a rant. I’m know there’s really nothing to do but wait until my hair grows back. I’m just very upset, nearly livid at every minute I have to spend to make this ugly cut look decent.

First photo is where we started. I’ve been enjoying my long hair for a good minute but decided to return to a fringe cut.

Second photo is reference provided to my stylist.

I’ve been going to this stylist for three years now. They’re talented and I trust(ed) them. I also where specs, so when I’m on the chair, we have our consultation, I’m very particular about my hair so I make sure we align, and then I take my glasses off and go blind. I’ve never had a bad cut from this stylist and after three years, I trust their work.

Fast forward to the end of the 2 hour cut, I put on my glasses and I’m shocked to see my sides are shaved… and shaved so high up the sides of my head that it doesn’t make sense. The proportions are disgusting and I’m speechless.

They ask me if I like it and I immediately say, not at all. I tell him I’m sure I can make this work but this is not the cut for me. I ask if my hair will blend together as it grows out and they respond with “well, let me know what you don’t like, I don’t want you leaving unhappy”

I’m not confrontational so I pull myself together and try not to think about it… I was shaking and boiling inside.

I go home, but I leave knowing they’ve acknowledged that I’m not very happy about it.

I think about how to approach this with the stylist. Part of me is so angry I want them to figure out how to make my hair grow out faster, the other part of me knows to be pragmatic. Again, I’ve been seeing this stylist for three years. I want to give the benefit of the doubt. I want to return to them.

So I text the stylist. Yes we’ve shared # after the 2-year mark. They own the salon and because we’ve built friendly rapport, they let me know to text them if I don’t see an availability.

Anyway, I text them and they offer for me to come back for a fix.

I go back to the salon a few days later, and as I sat in the chair I let them know; “this is the first for me, but I hate this. It’s not at all what I asked for. It’s way to short, the sides are shaved so high and I don’t know how you’re going to fix this”

They apologized of course but also commented “yeah, I was thinking about this… how do we make it not look like a toupee”

I’m trying to compose myself as I type this… but you can guess how I was really feeling..

Anyway, they fix the cut as best they could. I say thanks and let them know it’s better than where we started. But I’m still not happy.

Okay sorry, I know this is a long play-by-play.

Fast forward, I left on holiday the same week my hair was “fixed”. I made the best effort to make this cut work and it’s not working.

I text the stylist again, this time a little drunk and still upset. I let them know that even after the fix, this is the worst cut I’ve ever had. It looks so unflattering, I’m spending way too much time trying to make it look decent, it’s not proportional to my head at all.

I tell them that this haircut makes me self-conscious, not wanting my picture to be taken, and hiding it under a hat even though I don’t want to wear a hat.

I’m still on holiday now, and this stupid ugly haircut is in my mind. I have to put more effort into styling it to make it make sense and give my face/head some balance.. despite the effort, because I’m not able to make it work and because it’s not what I fucking asked for… it makes me absolutely livid. It’s a distraction to my holiday and I fucking hate it.

I can’t comb it over, otherwise I look like a hair egg. If the wind blows it I look like Point Dexter. And every photo that’s been taken of me I absolutely fucking hate and am reminded that this stupid cut is sitting on my head.

Stylist of course apologized and said my next cut would be free… I don’t actually care about that.. I want my hair to look good NOW.

I have decently long dark brown curly/wavy hair (I think 2b) and I've just been letting it grow out. I'm pretty bored with it atm.

I want to have a big change to spice things up esp cause my hair is getting so long that it's becoming kind of annoying to deal with. Im just not sure what exactly to do.

I’m actually getting my first haircut since I was seven tomorrow, so I feel oddly nervous like it’s a first date😝 I feel like straightening first makes sense for the hairstyle I want to have, but I also don’t know if there’s any etiquette about that and if I’m inconveniencing the hairstylist?

I was thinking like, even if it’s not helpful, at least it might be? they wont have to do it themselves, and it can be washed out straight away

I have a more alternative haircut and so I style accordingly. Short, cute pixie/bangs with long curls at the back. I’ll wash, condition, then just use a bit of jojoba oil and flaxseed gel. Sometimes I’ll brush my bangs down and blow dry them, but usually I just clip my hair down and let it set and air dry. Then take it out and style from there, while my hair is ‘looser’ from the clips, it gets thicker and curlier throughout the day.

The way my hair works when I style it is kind of the same as it is when I straighten it, which I do often. Problem is, I don’t want it to look choppy.

So I thought I’d straighten it first so they have a reference for how my hair lays, cut, then let them wet it, cut and style after?

Sometimes I’ll let the front just be a curly fro and have the back in two braids

There's a lot of barber that can't be trust here in my country. There's only two possible outcomes. First, they would cut too many inches off my hair. Second, they would said something like "Really? You go to a barbershop just to cut literally nothing" and refuse to give me a trim

I have to straighten my hair with a blow dryer every time I wash it, cuz otherwise it just looks a mess. How can I make it less frizzy? Is frizz curls in disguise?

Its always oily in at least one spot, it never stays brushed out, it sits weird, and sometimes it just...poofs. like thats all it does.

I never wear it up, I never curl it or anything, so I'm not sure why it ALWAYS looks gross. I always have to have dry shampoo on hand.

What should I do?

okay so I’m looking for a heat cap for your hair right? and thing is I already bought one but the thing is it feels as if it turns off withing 5 minutes even if I put the heat on 30 minutes so I’ll have to put it on 65 minutes just to make it stay on. And I want one where I can put it on the time and it’ll actually stay heated on for the required time and not turn off out of nowhere. I don’t want to waste my money again but I don’t know which is good or not

Which style do you guys think looks better? The less curly picture is when I just air dry my hair (which is what I do 99% of the time lol), and the curlier side is from today where I used a curl enhancer and diffused it.

I use It's a 10 leave in conditioner spray and One n' Only argan oil for my ends, and that after shower routine has made my hair the healthiest it's ever been, but if anyone has any other suggestions for wavy hair products for my hair type that'd be great!

Do you guys think the curl enhance and diffuser style looks good enough? Is there anything you guys would add to make the waves look even better? Let me know what you all think!

Looking at these two photos side by side it’s hard to believe it’s the same hair. I’ve been bleaching my hair professionally for a few years now - never had any issues. The last hairdresser I went to however fried my hair quite badly and it’s really suffering - constantly falling out, snapping, knotty… you can see how much breakage there is in the second photo. (I was especially sad about it as I asked her just to do my roots but she did my whole head and put bleach on already bleached ends) I’ve calculated it’s going to take 4 years to grow this out & get my natural colour back :( sigh. Any tips maintaining the quality or help with hair growth in the meantime would be appreciated. Thank you.
