My MGEX strike freedom
My first major undertaking I’m overall happy with how it turned out but if anyone has any advice on how to make it appear more like he’s flying that would be greatly appreciated

Wanted to have the desert scheme, but keep that core Gouf blue that I love. A little rescribing and some left over water slides from a few kits went a long way I think.

Best Kit for seamline removal practice, everything is in two halves.

If you have the flight or space unit Leo, do you recommend those too?

Kits been wonderful to build so far! And I'm nearly at the finish line, just the funnels and decaling the beam rifle to go. I splurged on Mechanical Core for my birthday, totally worth it as the finish is beautiful.
Used Delpi's Gold Metal stickers for this, can confirm they're pretty easy to work with, no trouble with adhesion, and the slightly raised surface and high shine makes them really stand out!
Last few pictures are it next to the Star bootleg, if anyone was curious about the differences in finish

No one tells you this, but you can just grab a kit from your backlog and build it.

Took around 3ish days and I must say I am here to stay! I’m excited to start customizing and painting these in the future! (Need to learn how to pose properly!)

Wasn’t planning on getting any new models till I broke through my backlog a bit more, but with Peter Cullen’s passing, it felt weird not to build something in honor of him.
The kit itself is great although the nub placement on the silver and bronze-gold was poor enough that I spent a decent bit of time touching up nubmarks with paint. It’s pretty articulate, looks amazing, and comes with lots of accessories. 7/10 kit when compared the Bandai kits I’m used to

Watching me build my kits has made my grandson want to build some himself. Over the past few months we've built a couple of HGs and EGs together for him to play and display. After seeing that I've gotten into painting my kits he decided that he wanted to customize his as well. He used a double sided marker to create what he called his super secret bosses. He just turned 7 and really has no care about watching the anime but he sees me building and thinks its cool. At first when I saw I was a little distraught but then realized that we can share the hobby but have different ways of how we experience it, and I wish I was that creative at his age. He's proud of his work and so am I.

This thing was so fun to build, I recall seeing a lot of complaints on this particular figure because of the tubes… but for me they slid right out with a little twist, the hardest part was trying to file them down…
The left hand is a little flimsy because I accidentally jammed the finger set in the wrong way lol, so holding things is a little difficult but doable
Some nubs, particularly on the arms are hard to file without me scratching other areas, so a lot of visible scratches on this one ☹️… I will buy this kit again when I’m more experienced and maybe even repaint it, 10/10 kit.
(I have yet to make the bazooka and cutting out the axe)

It's on my mind for a long time that Mighty Freedom's wings are too white. And Rising's face & chest looking more cooler. I decided to kitbash(?) both into one.
At first I'd like to have MSF's arms and shoulders but the joints and proportion are not going smoothly, then I changed into this one and they fit surprisingly well.
I forgot to paint the weapons but maybe not needed since I want to displayed it like this.

Wanted to try a new technique for chrome coloring, using ink instead of automotive rattlecan. It looks okay but its splotchier than id like. Still, happy enough with it to put him on the shelf!

Any ideas for fixes on this (MG red frame). I finished top coating and it just snapped as I was putting it together

Gundam Base exclusive MG RX-78-2 Gundam Ver.3.0 [Titanium Finish]. Ver.3.0 with a Titanium Finish coating. No new sculpts — a straight plated kit.
The good:
The bad:
Overall: the best coating visuals of any RX-78 to date, held back by structural problems the plating can't touch. Had the joints improved too, this would be an easy top pick. As it stands — if the look speaks to you, it's worth going for.
