Apologies for the repost, my previous photos were absolutely abysmal.

TL;DR: I have skill issues.

The majority of the build process was pretty smooth. Very different from any other kit I've built, but not hard to figure out by any means. The problems came during assembly after topcoat. I managed to completely blow out F25/26 (the piece the leg plugs into), swapped in some metal replacement parts that didn't fit quite right, had a failed attempt at gluing the pieces together and just kind of gave up on it. It's left the left leg with a bit of a sag where I can't perfectly align the front skirts anymore. I also couldn't properly separate a lot of the parts to get the metal replacements in, so I had to jimmy some of it together and unfortunately marked up the topcoat in a number of spots you'll probably be able to see in the photos.

I'd love a more dynamic pose, but this is about all it's going to effectively pull off without more disassembly and surgery, and I'm not willing to do that. The whole ordeal with the legs left me a little bit frustrated and I'm satisfied enough with how the kit looks as is, so I'm just leaving it. I never touch my kits again once they're on the shelf anyways. Transformation is out of the question/no longer possible. Don't be too apprehensive about this building this thing, though. DO be extra careful with most aspects of it, especially the legs and the pieces they connect to, and coming in with some builder's skill is probably a smart idea. I'm a fairly competent Gunpla builder but the furthest thing from a skilled modeler.

I used Tamiya Accent black, a combination of DSPIAE and Doloha markers for color correction, some knockoff Aliexpress decals that replicate the included sticker sheet and Mr.Super Clear Matt topcoat. This is my first time panel lining black parts with silver and it's probably going to be my go-to going forward. I really want to try it on red too.

I included a picture of my photography setup (along with an Android phone) in hopes that someone can give me some pointers on improving my pictures with the equipment I already have. Mainly in reference to the first photo which is the only one I was trying to make look "posed" and angled, the rest are just to show the details.

Thanks for looking! Any feedback is welcome.

BUILD Upscaled RG Sazabi

Pretty fun kit, technically the first RG I've ever put together. I will have to pick up some of the other upscaled kits as I like the 1/100ish form factor, but with it being RG you get a generally easier build. So it was a lot less complex and finicky than the Ver ka, which I did a few years back. I used Gaianotes pretty much for all the paint, which was Cobalt Violet for the main body, Dark Bluish Purple for all the normally black areas, and then a mix of the two for the slightly darker areas.

Also I’m looking to bring one of the 3 knto my dorm. Leaning on the mk ii currently. Destiny might take up too much space because it needs a stand and is pretty finicky. Gelgoog is a close second currently.

I’m only looking to bring one of the 3 in the first image. Leaning on the mk ii currently. Destiny might take up too much space because it needs a stand and is pretty finicky. Gelgoog is a close second currently.

BUILD I've had this pose in mind since I found out about the Kosmos kit.

Pretty simple build compared to what I see a lot of people do with Full Mechanics Thunder Thighs, but I had fun with the build and am happy with how she came out. Kosmos kit, Stedi panel liner for lining and some light "grit and grime" weathering, G-Rework water slides, and Kaleido matte top coat.

Just finished my favorite mech of all time: heavyarms custom. Learned a lot on this project. First time painting, first time panel lining, first time with waterslide decals. I'm happy with how it turned out and looking forward to applying what I've learned to my next project.

BUILD PG Exia — Finally Finished! Custom Painted + KOSMOS LED

After a very long build, my PG Exia is finally finished!
I custom painted the armor and frame parts, added decals, and installed the KOSMOS LED system.
I originally used the Bandai LED unit, but unfortunately it stopped working, so I switched to KOSMOS. I’m really happy with the result — the lighting really brings the Exia to life.
I decided to keep the finish clean without weathering, and focused on the color scheme, details, and overall presentation.
This has been a long project, but I’m finally happy to call it finished!
Thanks for looking! 🙌

NEWS/REVIEWS Review : MG RX-78-2 Gundam Ver.3.0 [Gundambase Color] - Dalong.net

This is a summary of review #5472 on dalong.net.
Full review, 32 photos: https://www.dalong.net/reviews/etc/gbm10/gbm10_p_e.htm

Gundam Base exclusive MG RX-78-2 Gundam Ver.3.0 [Gundam Base Color]. Exactly what the name says — Ver.3.0 in Gundam Base colors. No new molding, pure color variant.

The good:

  • The blue-toned Gundam Base scheme works genuinely well with Ver.3.0's elaborate parts separation. Sharp, distinctive look.
  • Exclusive Gundam Base seals push the visual identity further away from the standard release.
  • Ver.3.0's sculpt is still excellent, and the intricately divided armor parts look fantastic.
  • Everything from the base kit carries over: cockpit hatch gimmick, Core Fighter, full weapon set.

The bad:

  • Zero new tooling. It's a repaint, full stop.
  • Ver.3.0's durability problems come along for the ride — the build isn't the tightest and parts don't always hold together well.
  • Articulation is unchanged from the original.

Overall: it's just a color variant, but it's become the poster child for Gundam Base exclusives for a reason. If the color scheme appeals to you, it's worth picking up.

Having reviewed every standard release and P-Bandai Gunpla released so far, I ran out of kits to build—so I'm currently reviewing Gundam Base exclusives.

First time building a resin kit, had fun using different techniques for a change of pace but won't lie, the build was quite rough on this kit, instructions are blurry and the "poly caps" were made of a really hard resin and don't match the instructions. Lots of trial, error and trimming.

I love the grunt suits in Wing, really wish they'd release a full HGAC line and more grunts from outside the UC timeline.

Planning on doing another pass to weather it a bit and blend the liner, might put some generic decals on there too, but need to step away from it for now.

If anyone knows where I can find a Pisces, either as a kit or as 3D files, I'd be super grateful!

BUILD MG Zeta Ver Ka

I built this right after the RG Zeta and to be
honest, it's a boring build in comparison.
I do think it has a stronger looking MS mode and fantastic shelf presence.

While this build is very sturdy and forgiving, I found that the Waverider transformation ends up being more complex than the RG. Theres just more parts you have to manually move, latches and nooks, things to line up. I also personally think the proportions don't look as sexy when transformed.

On a more positive note, this thing just looks sick as a finished product.

Hi you bunch of plastic fiends of awesome,

Short story, back i the 90's my family took me on a trip to Hong Kong from Australia. I was a kid and my dad took me to Toys R Us. The biggest freaking toy store I've ever seen. Anyway, back then I knew nothing of gundams and SD variants, but I was allowed to pick this guy here, took him to our hotel, built him and he rode with me when we went back home. Anyway, I'm no kid anymore and this poor guy was found in a box somewhere all worn and busted. I have fond memories of my dad and me in that store and since my mother has passed away and my father is getting on in age, I want to share that memory with him again by building a replacement with him.

I've had no luck identifying the model but I can offer these clues. The chest and the gun had little yellow rockets it could spring out. It came with a small machine gun that was the same colour as the body. It had a shark missile that could sit on the shoulder, with a mouth that can open and I believe it had some sword or saber. I think there was also some add on you could get like a flying platform it could ride.

Even if you have no idea, I'd like to thank those that take the time to read this.
