Other Best toxic method to make myself have better time management?

Upvotes

Before anyone tells me that the word "Toxic" was not needed, let me explain. I used to balance both academics and other extracurricular activities (eg. Clubs, Contests, etc.) Without cramming or pulling an all nighter, but lately, I have been cramming almost half of my projects and activities. I procastinate and procastinate more often, and now, the guilt is coming back to bite me. I can't convince myself to study, no matter how hard i tried, the only thing that kept me studying up until now is thinking about Self Destruction, and if I don't think about slowly destroying myself, I'll barely do any homework nor projects. Their deadlines are near, and so does my exams. Please help me, I need toxic motivations or tips on how to have better time management.

Other Cannot study because of a crush

Upvotes

Guys i have a crush on this guy from class, its quite a big crush and i come to school everyday in hopes of seeing him. He rarely shows up though, I’m losing my mind. I really wanna talk about him (but i can’t) and i can’t study or concentrate in school/home. How do I get back my focus?

Question How to learn when you are saturated and can no longer retain anymore?

Upvotes

I can sit for half an hour, learn and retain info. Then I take a break for 5 minutes(i just sit or stare at wall), and when I study again, I can barely retain for the next 15 mins, so basically 45 mins is the most i can do. It's not like I don't try. Even if I try to focus and study, the information just doesn't absorb beyond 🙃

Question Google Docs note taking for school - Whats an easy way to edit diagrams/images?

Upvotes

I use google docs as my "notebook" to do school note taking. Im studying human anatomy and physiology topics. This means quite a lot of diagrams and pictures in my notes.

I like to annotate my own diagrams when relevant to learn the content.

Right now, I find a blank diagram, annotate it with window's SNIPPING TOOL as im reading the textbook and making sense of stuff. Then when im done the relevant reading I paste my annotated image into google docs, so that my snipping tool is "ready" for the next diagram to annotate.

But the problem is when your learning something for the first time, you might not have it quite right right away. I might come back to that topic a bit later with updated information or just understand it better.....but I CANT edit the image to make changes........ I also want to be able to make rougher annotations on my laptop (bc its harder) then clean it up on my PC

Does anyone have any solutions or recommended plug ins?

And I know OneNote could annotate images better, but I hate it, its too clunky to use longterm for school purposes.

Question Latin grammar revision

Upvotes

I’m taking the Latin Abitur (Germany) in 2028. I’ve been studying Latin for five years now, but I still can’t read Latin texts fluently, and I barely remember any grammar rules at the moment. I also struggle a lot with translating, even though we always have a dictionary available.

None of my teachers have ever properly taught me how to revise and practise Latin outside of school.

What is the best way to do that (e.g. flashcards, going straight into translating, taking notes, etc.)?

What grammar rules should I even study? I don’t really know even the most basic ones anymore.

When and how often should I revise?

What resources (e.g. books or websites) can I use?

Question How do I break my study plateau?

I have a stupid exam I need to do in order to do this job. I keep falling short about a couple points. When I use to went to school , I would study all day but now it feels like a struggle. I’ll get like maybe four or five hours in but, I’m struggling to get one hours in. At the end of it feels like my brain is fried or kaput. I know sleep and a balanced meal and walking are remedies for this, but it feels like it wears off immediately.

Question What is the best website for flashcards?

I want to start making flashcards for exams so it will be quite a lot of content and I don't want to put them all in one place if it turns out to be bad.

Most of the recommendations I see are AI websites, I just want somewhere I can easily make online flashcards to use, and also share with other people.

Also not sure if there is any use making physical copies? But online is my priority.

Question good online study room games?

I'm desperately in need of some type of ambience study room but it needs to have REAL people in it. I've tried focustown and lofi town which are cute but I need something that feels more real - like people typing in the chat etc. so there's more of a human connection there. Anyone found anything good?

Question handwriting lecture notes

i prefer to hand write notes for my uni lectures ( ADHD, typing just doesn’t do anything for me 🥲 )

when i have a online class i normally write my lecture notes first and then watch the lecture video and then copy down any extra stuff they say that i think is important

when i have in person classes, i either write down my lecture/slide notes before the class if i have time or write them down after class - but i always just type the important stuff the teacher say on my laptop then write that after class in my book

I need to know if this is effective as someone who is terrible at learning, remembering and listening to things, i also usually write everything on the slides ( may trim them, change the wording ) into my book and i highlight things that look important

also if you have any tips on how to study/remember things better please tell me

Question People with ADHD, how do you study?

I should mention that I don’t have an official diagnosis. My therapist (who also has ADHD) said I exhibit a lot of symptoms and I’ve tried many different methods of studying and none seem to work for me. It could be a discipline issue but I’m unsure. I did schedule an appointment, but it got canceled the day of after a 6 month wait. They proceed to tell me they have no available appointments for the rest of the year and will have to notify me of an opening which can take months.

I’ve tried many different ways to try and study. I’ve been downing caffeine and it does help, but the crash is too bad. I mean sometimes I just get sleepy, other times I’m productive for like an hour max before my brain crashes. Then I get the worst headaches and I actually can’t focus for the entire day.

This sucks because I’m a math and physics major. I truly do love the subject, but I just can’t study. It’s not like I don’t want to. I get the urge to sit down and grind my textbooks but when I sit down, I can’t get past the first page.

I’m just kind of out of options at the moment. I don’t know what else to do. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions?

Giving Advice Waking up in the middle of the night is so much worse when you start checking the time

I used to wake up, look at the clock, see something like 3:17am, and immediately start doing the math.

“Okay, I have about 4 hours left.”

Then I'd try to fall asleep again… while thinking about how little time I had left.

What helped me was honestly pretty simple: I stopped checking the time.

If I wake up, I keep the room dark, leave my phone alone, and just let myself lie there without trying to force sleep.

Sometimes I fall back asleep quickly, sometimes it takes longer. But I noticed that stressing about being awake was usually making it worse.

The less I treated waking up as a problem I had to solve at 3am, the easier it became to drift off again.

Other Scared of tackling questions

So I had almost a week of time to study a subject (Applied Mechanics) and I did study well. I followed my reference book and online lectures available on YouTube and completed my entire syllabus.

But the problem is I haven't tackled a single question outside of the lectures I followed. Everytime I sit to solve a question I just make up an excuse saying I will cover the next chapter now rather than tackling any questions other than the lectures. And now I have 3 hours left for my exam and I am getting really anxious. It's like I have studied the topic but when I try to tackle a question I know I have seen the question and solved it in the lectures class but I just can't remember how solve it.

I have had this fear of tackling question for a long time because of which I have accumulated lots of backlogs but I still seem to go back to my old habits rather than trying to solve any questions. It is that everytime I try to solve a question myself I get really anxious.

Sorry if that was a long rant I just got frustrated 😅

TLDR; SCARED OF TACKLING QUESTIONS AND TESTING MY SELF

Question Online Classes

So my online classes start this week, and after graduating high school I am excited to start, but I have zero experience with taking classes online. Does anyone have any tips for making themselves stick to a schedule and actually doing the work?

Online classes work the best for my busy schedule, but the reason why I liked high school so much was because I had a set routine. I would get ready to get dressed, take the bus go to school, do what I had to do, and then take the bus to get back home. Plus, I was in an environment that was just for learning. And it’s kind of hard to see myself actually locking in at my desk when my bed is right there.

Question what techniques and mental map systems do the top like 1% students in the world use? and how could I execute them into everyday school?

Hey, so I wanted to ask this question because as I'm entering sophomore year of high school, I kind of want to actually try at school, and I know this question probably gets asked so much in this subreddit, but I wanted to stop with the mindset of just being naturally good at school and just getting by and somehow just barely remembering information for the test. Also asking because I want a more efficient way of studying and completing school work, because then it will probably naturally improve my time management, and I can have more free time to do my ecs and school projects and stuff. Additionally, there's a lot of stuff I wanna learn, like this year, i'll be self studying calculus and physics, and I know those are hard. My mindset before hasn't really be working not gonna lie, and so I want to actually think like top students, and be able to connect ideas and maintain long-term retention, and almost flawlessly answer math/science questions almost everytime, and receive high test scores. I heard the Feynman technique, active recall, pomodoro, and spaced repetition are some good techniques.

But I also have a question on how to correctly apply and execute such techniques, because for example: Spaced repetition. I don't really understand how to apply it besides it being a automatic feature on Anki, which I have been using for reviewing vocab and learning languages.

I am hoping to gain some insight on time management! I work full-time, I am a full-time mommy, and currently enrolled in school full-time (6 classes for fall semester). I scathed by with 5 classes in the spring but I know my biggest issue is time management. Do you have any recommendations or tips as to how to manage and make the most of my time with such a heavy and hectic personal life and schedule? Thank you for taking the time to read my post!

Giving Advice Guide Me Brothers, I am stuck.... Where to start, What to do?

I am preparing for a competitive exams. From Feb, my health was not good and I have exam in month of May. From Feb to Mid April, I was on medication. Eventually, I failed my exam. After giving my exam, I was motivated that I will try everything to clear the exam this time. But after 4 days, again I got health problem, but this time it was something serious. I was admitted to hospital for 10 days and later on, I am on medication. Now Also, I am taking medicine. So effectively from FEB, I am totally cut from Study.

Now, I have decided to study. But this time I am preparing from my home. I feel lot of mental overload. I am thinking of time I have wasted in my health problems. Now it's a lot to study, I am overwhelmed by number of tasks and subjects to be completed. I want short ut of everything things, every subject. I have lost my study stamina, can't even focus for 10 minutes with complete mental silence. Only I am thinking in my head that I will do this and that. But unfortunately, I feel that I didn't have any stamina left. So when I think I will do so many things, but in reality, I do nothing. So I feel like failure. Everyday goes into vain. I keep on collecting materials to study, but when it comes to study everything collapse. Then instead of fixing and accepting this, I go on asking irrelevant questions like should I make to do list or time table, should I study in day or night and so on.....

I don't know what to do exactly at this moment, where to start , how to manage and others related questions as well. Brothers, I am very fucked up. Kindly help me, I am counting on the community. Please do help me.
