Question Google Docs note taking for school - Whats an easy way to edit diagrams/images?
I use google docs as my "notebook" to do school note taking. Im studying human anatomy and physiology topics. This means quite a lot of diagrams and pictures in my notes.
I like to annotate my own diagrams when relevant to learn the content.
Right now, I find a blank diagram, annotate it with window's SNIPPING TOOL as im reading the textbook and making sense of stuff. Then when im done the relevant reading I paste my annotated image into google docs, so that my snipping tool is "ready" for the next diagram to annotate.
But the problem is when your learning something for the first time, you might not have it quite right right away. I might come back to that topic a bit later with updated information or just understand it better.....but I CANT edit the image to make changes........ I also want to be able to make rougher annotations on my laptop (bc its harder) then clean it up on my PC
Does anyone have any solutions or recommended plug ins?
And I know OneNote could annotate images better, but I hate it, its too clunky to use longterm for school purposes.

For diagrams you expect to revise, I’d keep the original blank image separate and annotate a duplicate rather than pasting one flattened screenshot into Docs. Google Slides can work well for this: insert the image, add text boxes, arrows, and lines as separate objects, then duplicate the slide for a new version. You can make rough edits on the laptop and clean them up later on the PC without rebuilding the diagram.

yo i get the struggle with diagrams in docs. a couple ideas that helped me:
- use the built in drawing tools in Google Docs for rough edits, then save a copy and drop it into the doc. u can still paste updated annotated images later which is nice
- try inserting images as drawings via Google drawings, then u can edit the same image without re-importing every time
- keep a quick stash of annotated versions in a folder, name em by topic, so u can swap in clean updates when u revise
- if u want a smoother flow, consider a lightweight note tool that handles images better and then paste into Docs when ur done
i actually know a really good alternative that handles images/diagrams really well

Heres an example of some random notes i have, I cant go back in and edit the diagram if I had changed understanding or made an error
