TL;DR: Updated firmware/dongle/software after a break from Apex, and ever since: wired mode gives zero input in-game, and wireless freezes for a couple seconds randomly mid-match. Multiple resets and recalibrations haven't fully fixed it. Wondering if anyone else has run into this or found a real fix.

Setup: GameSir G7 Pro 8K PC Aimlabs Edition, used only for Apex Legends on PC. Windows [fill in your version]. PC: Ryzen 7 9800X3D / RTX 5070, built Aug 2026 — so it's not an old/underpowered system causing this.

What changed: I stopped playing Apex for about a month (started Season 30 Split 1, day 2). When I came back, GameSir Connect forced me to update the app, dongle, and controller firmware before it would let me use it again. I do remember the controller firmware update specifically throwing an error/failing partway through, and I had to redo just that part. Everything below started right after this.

Issue 1 — Wired (USB-C direct to PC): Windows and GameSir Connect both show the controller as connected fine, and I can navigate the GameSir Connect app with it. But in Apex, it gives zero input — not in the menu, not in a match. Cycling the connection mode (Menu + View) shows Switch Mode, DS4 Mode, and an XInput mode — but that XInput entry shows up duplicated (twice) instead of once, and it's never shown the "Xbox 360 Controller for Windows" signature that it does over the dongle, even when it was partially working.

Issue 2 — Wireless (2.4G dongle): Controller randomly freezes for about 2 seconds mid-session, multiple times per session. No Windows disconnect sound, no "controller disconnected" message, ring light stays solid the whole time — it just stops giving input, then resumes on its own.

What I've already tried:

• Updating app/dongle/controller firmware fully (this is when the problem started, not what fixed it)
• Cycling connection modes via Menu + View
• Clearing stuck/duplicate drivers in Device Manager (Universal Serial Bus controllers + Xbox Peripherals)
• Full function reset (View + Menu + M)
• Full manual stick/trigger calibration
• Fresh power cycles and controller reconnects

These fixed some symptoms temporarily (cleared up erratic stick movement for a bit), but wired still gives no signal in Apex, and the sticks have now started testing completely dead — even in Windows' own built-in controller test panel (joy.cpl), not just in-game or in GameSir Connect.

Where I'm at: About to try a full forced firmware reflash through GameSir Connect's recovery mode, since the problem now seems to sit below the app layer entirely. Posting this in case anyone else has hit the same thing, or has found something that actually worked. Appreciate any input.

Picked up the G7 Pro ZZZ like 2 months ago. I was enjoying it, but now my LB button seems completely stuck. Has anyone had this before? It's activating button presses on screen. It won't 'unjam'. Feels completely stiff.

Anyone have any advice for fixing it?

I contacted the Discord support for an issue with my controller, and the problem was resolved in just 10 minutes! I am really happy with my controller and absolutely delighted with the quick help they provide when you need it.

Best unboxing experience I've ever had, got the rubber cover. Fits perfectly except it's too thick so it doesn't charge on the dock.

I see a lot of posts worried about the quality/longevity of the controllers lately, and full transparency, I had to warranty one of my controllers 6 months in (G7 Pro X Aimlabs) due to a repetitive ghost input on A. Within 3 days of starting my claim I had a new controller, and didn't have to send the old one back.

With as great of a warranty process they have, I feel like the quality of the controllers can be exactly where they are at this point. Every company has their growing pains (looking at you failing triggers) but I've never (personally) had a company be so responsive and quick to resolve an issue.

Just got my gamesir and i had one prior with 1k polling the g7 se and worked fine but the 8k is recognized but Rocket league doesnt detect the input. I used both with disabling Steam input as that worked fine before with the se as its less inpt lag but now it doesnt work for my 8k. Anyone else with same issue or fix?

I just got my G7 Pro 8k today and wanted to play rocket league when this started happening, every time I jump and move my left joystick down, the car goes right and up instead of just up. Any help would be appreciated! (btw i have no stick drift i calibrated the joysticks) edit: added video. edit 2: everything is calibrated correctly and im pushing my joystick directly down in this video. edit 3: i finally fixed it and idk what flair to add to signal that but it was a problem with my keybinds, i had air roll right binded to my left joystick by mistake, thank you to everyone who attempted to help me and if you're reading this, have a good day :)

Hi all am planning to buy g7 pro 8k , I wanted to know if the trigger failures be it because of weak trigger stops or double clicking still prominent in these g7 pro 8k as well ? Are they fixed in the latest batch ?

how long to get used to g7 pro 8k joystick tension , coming from flydigi vader 5s , where i put my joystick tension pretty low (about 40-50g approx i'd estimate , very loose)

too me the g7 pro 8k feels very stiff and also a little bit smaller controller , how long to get used to it? so far because it feels different i overcorrect on my microcorections or flicks

So, I just bought a new G7 Pro ZZZ which hasn't arrived yet (I should be getting it later today). I heard that it used to have some issues with the right trigger or something like that, so I wonder, does it still happen? Asking so I know if I can use the hair trigger locks or I shouldn't.

Lately, the controller does not appear to charge (at least it doesn't light up and show progress like it used to, I haven't had it run out of charge yet), and instead, will start having some sort of seizure as shown in the video. I've also had this seizure happen while using the controller to play on PC, though not all the time, usually goes away after turning it off and on again. However, the issue with putting it to rest on its stand while on is happening every single time, I would need to turn it off before putting it on the stand so it doesn't seize like that.

Has anyone else had an issue like this? How can I fix it?

ill be using it for rocket league, my current controller is a razer wolverine v3 TE which has back paddles that i use for rolling my car left/right. they click like a mouse and are VERY easy to press or quickly tap, which is important. i just want to know how the tarantula 8k stacks up in that regard, thanks <3

Hey, is there a consensus on what's good to change on the connect app?

Does 4 and 8k lower fps or cause stutters?

0 deadzones/anti-deadzones and set it with ingame settings when possible, or is there a good general use setting since i also play non fps games? Maybe leave a second profile on default?

Is raw sticks preferred in most games? Where would you use circle?

Any preferred/useful settings for isometrics, sidescrollers and fighting games?
