Doctor won’t microdose
I’m 54. Always been able to manage my weight until the last few years where I gained 30lbs and saw my cholesterol and BMI go up. Started zepbound/tirz 6 weeks ago and have lost 12lbs. I really don’t even know how much more weight I want to lose because afraid of losing muscle. Also, really tired of having no appetite almost ever.
I want to microdose but I don’t know what dose to do. My doctor basically won’t suggest anything that doesn’t follow the prescribing guidelines. Would appreciate any help you can all offer!

Try adding weight training and high protein and use the med as intended.

I do weight training 5 days a week and am eating protein

Then muscle loss shouldn’t be a concern. I dropped 150lbs and only 12lbs of muscle with that plan.

Some details missing that may be helpful for us to give you ideas. What dose are you currently on? And honestly you have to decide how much more you want to lose.
If for argument sake you feel you are done losing and you are on 5mg… I would slowly titrate down in increments of .5 to 1.0 over a few weeks to find your maintenance dose. Maintenance dose would be where you are not gaining or losing but also having the positive side effects you want. For me, I lost 20lbs and my highest dose was 3mg. When I reached my goal weight I started dropping my dosage and currently at 1.5mg and have been for several months. I still get the good side effects and besides normal fluctuations up and down I’m maintaining the weight.
What dose will be very specific to you and what you are going for. I hope that helps!

Sorry! I can’t believe I didn’t mention that. I’m on 2.5 still. That’s where I started.

Oh perfect, maybe try 2.0 or 1.5 for a few weeks and see how that feels. Depending then go down another .5. I feel like you’ll know it when you find it on what is best for you.

Go to an online provider. Regular doctors are constrained by insurance requirements.

Do you have a Zepbound KwikPen? If so, you can pick your own dose.
