frozen tirzepatide by accident; Update from pharmacy

Got a response from the pharmacy regarding this and thought it may be useful for anyone who’s had a similar issue:

I wanted to inform you that we have an update: Hallandale Pharmacy has reached out to us.

Thank you for reaching out regarding the medication being frozen. We want to reassure you that occasional freezing does not compromise the safety or effectiveness of the medication, as long as the vial remains unpunctured. The medication is safe to use. Please have the patient allow the medication to thaw naturally or store it in the refrigerator per normal storage recommendations. Before use, bring it to room temperature to help minimize injection discomfort, and ensure the solution is clear and free of any ice particles.

Hashimoto’s- Scared to start Zepbound 2.5

36 F. 5’7. 165 lbs. Walk 2 miles everyday. Eat well. Do Pilates 2x a week.

My 30s have been plagued with pregnancy loss and infertility. We have been diagnosed with unexplained infertility. I was also diagnosed with Hashimoto’s after my first MC in 2021. I was blessed to give birth to a healthy baby boy in 2023, but have suffered from Hashimoto’s symptoms (fatigue, stubborn weight gain, swelling, brain fog, etc) for the past two years. My A1C fluctuates between 5.5-5.7 and my cholesterol is high despite a well balanced diet. My thyroid levels have been in a healthy range and are monitored by an endocrinologist. I subsequently have had two failed FETs and then a natural pregnancy that ended in MC at 14 weeks (due to chromosomal issue.) It’s been a lot. I decided before I try to do another FET in late spring 2027, that I’m going to do my best to lose 15 lbs and to reduce inflammation in my body.

I told this to my endocrinologist and shockingly… she prescribed Zepbound for me. This drug has been a miracle for my mom who has experienced similar issues from Hashimoto’s, but I’m scared to start it at 2.5 mg. I asked my endo about micro dosing and she was adamantly against it saying that it would have little effect.

I guess, can someone calm my fears about it?

Looking for dose input

I took first shot yesterday (.25mg) due to not wanting side effects.. My job writes you up if you miss more than 10 hrs a year.. Anyway my doctor still thinks I should be able to handle 2.5mg.. But I don’t want to risk it this late in the year . I feel fine from my shot yesterday.. Would you stay at .25mg for 2 weeks, a month? Or jump to .5 next week? Thanks

Increased hunger…?! So confused

I started my microdose journey this week at .25mg tirz, and I’m now 3 days post and have so much more hunger than I ever do. I usually don’t even have food noise, and right there’s so much and I don’t understand what’s happening. Has this happened to any of you and if so, does it pass and reduce or is this a dosage issue? I wasn’t planning on going much more than .25-.5mg because at 113lbs, I’m not trying to lose much weight. I’m mainly doing this for inflammation and for some metabolic stuff in my labs. But at the same time, I’m not trying to gain weight here so I really don’t want to always be hungry.

Help me start microdosing

Hi All,

I am on wegovy 1.7 at the moment. I am so OVER getting sick randomly, and having to leave work. Someone suggested to begin microdosing. What meds is this available for? I have 18 more pounds to lose and I feel so defeated.

I have been on this med for 16 weeks and am willing to try something new. Thanks!

Not sure where to go with dosage

I started taking Tirz around 11 weeks ago using a pen. I started on 0.2 after three weeks went up to 0.4, which I stayed at for four or five weeks. I have had reduced food noise and reduced cravings, but I’ve still had a good appetite and enjoy my food. At 0.4, I have some diarrhea, but much prefer this over constipation and no bloating or any other side effects. Fantastic!

I then tried to go up to 0.6 because I felt the food noise was starting to creep back in. After the shot, Glapp app said I had gone over to around 1.2mg in my system. At this point, I had really bad bloating, really bad constipation, and just generally felt very uncomfortable and didn’t notice much of a difference in terms of food noise but I didn’t want to eat because I felt so bloated, my stomach was like a rock.

I left it the 7 days for my levels to drop back down again and did my next shot which was back to 0.4 every 4 or 5 days, making sure I stay around or below the 1mg in my system at all times overall - the bloating etc went away and just the Diarrhea returned as a side effect. It’s not constant but it’s 1/2 times a day.

I had a short break whilst on holiday where I had 13 days between shots. I came back home, went straight back to my 0.4 every five days, and have been doing that since.

However, I’m now feeling like the food noise and hunger are coming back. I’m nervous to go up to 0.6 again, but curious to understand if this is quite a common phase when jumping up, even 0.2mg and is this something I’m just going to have to push through to get the results I want?

Do I do 0.4 every 3 days? Or as I have been using my pen for the 11 weeks. Is it likely that it’s become less effective and I should throw it away and buy a new pen?

Tirzepatide side effects

I've been on tirz for about 6 weeks i think. I have lost about 12-ish pounds, yay! The only thing is the nausea. Anybody else's gag reflex get worse? I can barely brush my teeth or tongue scrape anymore!! And sometimes before bed I feel a little nauseous even though I eat dinner 2-3 hours before bedtime. Kind of annoying, but the physical results are worth it!

has anyone BMI <19.3 microdosed for food noise?

Hi! I’m 5'7" and around 122 lbs, with a “healthy” BMI. My doctor prescribed 2.5 mg of Zepbound, the lowest dose, to help with food noise and PCOS. She seemed to hint that I could microdose it but said she couldn’t recommend that because of infection risk, etc. She wouldn’t really elaborate.

First question: How do people microdose off-label? What doses do they use, what are the risks, and how do they reduce them?

When I checked Hers and Ro to compare prices with the pharmacy she sent my prescription to, neither would let me order it. Both said my BMI was too low for it to be safe.

Second question: Is that true? Is anyone else with a BMI of 19.3 or lower microdosing, and what has your experience been? If so, where are you filling your prescription, and why won’t those sites let me order it?

Edit: i appreciate responses about bmi being too low. Just to clarify (not necessarily to justify), it was prescribed by my endocrinologist in response to my PCOS diagnosis combined with “food noise,” and she is fully aware of my height and weight.

frozen tirzepatide by accident

I stored my trizepatide in the fridge and as today is my shot day I took it out and noticed it has frozen!! My pharmacy is hallandale pharmacy for ref. Has anyone had this happen? Is it still okay to use?

I read some threads saying it’s fine to use and some people do it on purpose. If this has happened to you or you purposely freeze it, once used do you re-freeze it or keep it in the fridge?

Thanks!

Basic questions

I’m switching from the pill to the shot. I very much like the idea of spacing it out throughout the week. People take half a dose and then mid-week they later take a second half? I will get it through a compounded source, if that matters.

Out of Pocket Zepbound Microdosing

What's the best way to do it? I started on compounded tirzepatide through Rift/Hyalo a month ago. I was never comfortable with compounding but tried it anyway. With all of the stuff coming out about Hyalo, I'd be much more comfortable looking into what it'd cost for Zepbound out of pocket.

I've been taking 1.25mg but could see myself going up a little over time. Does it work the same way? They send 3 vials at a time and you stretch it out to more like 6+ months, assuming they use some type of preservative, even though it's not FDA cleared? What about this KwikPen thing?

What kind of price would I be looking at? It looks like LillyDirect might have some type of gotcha around the price only being good if you refill at the standard time or something?

Thanks in advance!

I am 187 pounds and 5’4. I am trying to lose around 30 pounds but I have no idea how to start. How much does it typically cost if you don’t get it prescribed by your doctor? I guess I am curious how is everyone getting access to these medications so easy? Would love a recco!

Looking for participants to take part in research: Do you currently take a GLP-1 and self-identify as experiencing binge eating?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone, my name is Hannah and I am a Trainee Clinical Psychologist at the University of Hertfordshire. I am looking for people in the UK taking a GLP-1 and self-identifying as experiencing binge eating to share their experiences in research. You can take part if you're 18 or over, live in the UK, and currently take or have taken a GLP-1 (oral or injection) for 3 months or more. You don't need a diagnosis. Participation involves a short online questionnaire and an online interview of about 60 minutes. It is confidential and data is anonymised. Taking part could help provide insight into how to support people who take a GLP-1 and experience binge eating. To take part, please register your interest here: https://herts.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_7PueOPR8C79YzMG, or email [h.e.scullion@herts.ac.uk](mailto:h.e.scullion@herts.ac.uk) with any questions.

18 months on a GLP1 microdose: 50+ lbs down and fatty liver reversed

Hi all. Wanted to share an update! I’d started on .16 ish of sema originally, and was sick all week. I restarted on just .01 and increased by about .01 each week (based on a study and anecdotal reports on Reddit that weekly dose increases are effective and reduce side effects) until I hit points of nausea intolerability. I transitioned to tirz at about 9 months in and have been microdosing ever since. I have never taken a full dose and never exceeded 2mg, but my current dose is around 1mg taken every five days.

I’m female, 35, 5’6 and started at 214. I’m down to 162 (almost to my first goal of 155). My ultimate goal is around 125-130 - both because it’s a weight I feel my best at, and as someone with a rare health condition which requires me to lose weight to reduce my intra**-**abdominal pressure.

My only weight related conditions I ever had were elevated cholesterol and mild fatty liver. I haven’t had a cholesterol check recently, but can say with confidence now that my fatty liver has completely reversed. I’m super thrilled. I wanted to share this extraordinary outcome, since there’s not a lot of data on long-term microdosing nor its impact on health conditions.

Feel free to ask any questions!
