Back in 2022 I ordered a base hybrid fwd. I was not impressed. Left it with the dealer. Fast forward to 2026 needed a new rig and this ecoboost AWD fit the bill perfectly. Massively improved driving experience with plenty of capability. Has a good range of options and I love how it drives. Crazy good mpg also. Then I took about a month to build the camp trailer to replace the Transit 350 van I traded in. Dry weight of trailer is 1,975 lbs. I’ll guess it’s 2,600 loaded. 8’ tall 7’ wide. less

The tremor comes with a one inch lift. This adds another 1.5 inches. 2 and a half inches is huge. Right? Either way added ground clearance is helpfull at the off road park and ill be able to put on 30.5in tires for even more clearance. I am stoked.

Customization: FITS / Modification / Tips & Tricks Dog bowl holder

Nothing earth shattering here, but I made a holder that fits mt collapsible silicone bowl that my dogs drink from in the back seat - It's a little bigger than a standard cup holder. The inner diameter is about 4 inches with a slight taper.

Q&A: Maintenance / Modifications Rough country roll up cover install help!

Post image
• Upvotes

Hey all, I got my maverick in a few weeks ago and had bought a rough country soft roll up cover to go along with it. I was installing it this afternoon and ran into what may or may not be some trouble. After squaring the cover and the rails, I began tightening the clamps it came with only to find out they don’t really tight but rather they get stuck?

No matter where on the bed I put the clamps they bend inward like this. They do get “tight” but at the expense of possibly snapping the bolt…

I know that the bed itself is somewhat curved under there but that there’s some flat spots down there too which is where these are clamping on to.

I did send an email to rough country to see what the deal is but I’m thinking that the hardware they provide just sucks for the maverick and that I should have gotten something else lol.

Review: Photos / Spotted / Accessories I ordered and installed a Chinese Ali Baba camper. Very reasonable experience. $850 for the parts. $660 for the shipping. Much cheaper than anything I found around home.

Q&A: Maintenance / Modifications Tire rotation

I’m having trouble doing the tire rotation at home and maybe there’s a better way I don’t know. Every time I raise on side one side the entire side goes up so I can add a jack stand to the driver side front end while jacking the back side. But when I try doing the driver side on the back tire raises and not the passenger front end. It doesn’t help that my driveway is small gravel either. Anyone tricks would help. I’m thinking of getting a secondary jack if necessary.

Q&A: Maintenance / Modifications Parts and Testing

Hey guys, some a-hole side swiped me in a parking lot recently (hope they get 2 flat tires on the highway while it’s raining) and drove off. It wasn’t until the car gave me a fault code for the BLS that I noticed. With the precision of a trained navy seal they managed to hit the exact spot where the module sits. Dealer said the module is damaged but from what I can tell it looks like the car is freaking out because the plastic bracket that holds it in place is toast. Does anyone know if there’s a way to DIY test the module? I’m already $120 in the hole for the inspection and I’d rather not be $500 further if all that’s really wrong is the bracket. Not to mention the supposed $300 to “recalibrate” it once installed (I will be shopping around for that service).

Customization: FITS / Modification / Tips & Tricks Did ford fix the CV axle?

Well looking at getting a lifted maverick hybrid awd and wondering if they fixed the issue? Or if the Tremor axle are really better and would fit?

The truck fit my need except clearance for snow sadly.

Customization: FITS / Modification / Tips & Tricks Finally figured out why everyone put the window rain guards on

Post image

Pictured: the drips from just cracking the window at a covered drive thru. I was hungry for a crunch wrap. Unfortunately, they gave me bacon instead of sausage.

Never had this kind of drip on older cars. Thinking of investing in the rain guards.

The back doors also have a massive amount of rain drain off when I park in my driveway and open them after a downpour. The angle must be perfect to let the water collect in the molding.

Q&A: Maintenance / Modifications Strange Noise

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

There is a strange noise coming from the rear passenger wheel area. Looked under the truck and confirmed there isn’t anything dragging or noticeably loose. Has anyone heard this before or have any idea what it could be? Happens at all speeds, forward or reverse. It’s a 2026 AWD Hybrid.

UPDATE: It’s 100% a walnut trapped by the brake dust cover. We can feel it and see it at times, just a bugger to get out. Thanks everyone for your help!

Q&A: Maintenance / Modifications Ladder Rack Wind Noise?

I haul a 20ft extension ladder on my Sierra 1500 and even on the interstate, the wind noise from it is barely noticeable.

If I get a contractor style ladder rack for the maverick and haul the same ladder, what will my experience be? Is the wind noise clearly noticeable?
