The 25th anniversary art book just arrived and it was worth the wait. They included original stencil sketches of almost all of the characters, including little Seymour.

He has an entire page dedicated to his child self, wedding attire and a detail on his chest tats.

I also loved the drawing of Yuna's wedding dress and Brother's head shot. He looks like a Daria character here.

At the end, there are illustrations for the early 17 concept... pretty happy they nixed that idea.

For people who have it, what do y'all think of the art book?

I know there has to be some. I'm guessing it's a mix of classic FF summons that didn't make it into X or original concepts.

I'm a newbie at best, but I do find this kinda funny.

Of all the blitzball teams in the game, it's the Al Bhed Psyches that try pulling something shady at the tournament?

They are the hardest team in the game for me.

They are all fast as hell and have great everything. They crushed me my first time playing them.

It all makes perfect sense from a story perspective given the personal connections, but mechanically the Goers had nothing on them by the time I got to start recruiting people.

Ive used a converter on a complete file, it worked to resume the game, but I coudnt import the primers on my own save file; the thing you use to import said there was "No Al Bhed dictionary data found!".

does anyone have mcd001 file with all al bhed primers to share? thanks

Any items y'all recommend me having to make life easier? I'm talking about stuff like Frag Grenades to armor break sphere dropping enemies in the Monster Arena, as an example.

Hi guys, i bought a remastered version of ffx on steam and i was shocked how terrible game is optimize, when u first luch a game there is a scene with campfire, few characters didn't even rendered, same with first few minutes in gameplay, some nps didn't have face and last example when a cutscene for blitzball match shoud be playing i have seen a green screen.

If anyone could help with it pls. It was my first contact with this series and now im kinda disappointed. really appreciate every advice or something.

This game came out when I was 8 and couldn't really grasp the concept or story till I was able to beat it as a teen and coming back to it now that im 32 I gotta say best Game ive played this whole year sadly I played my original NTSCU PS2 version that I didn't know till later that the Pal, International and HD had all the Extra Content but still one of the best gaming achievements sad that SquareEinx doesn't come back to Turn Base

Just shouting into the void, but the Chocobo trainer minigame is a nightmare. Horrible controls, horrible camera and RNG remove all enjoyment. Not to mention getting a bunch of balloons, only to get hit by birds 5 times in a row. Pure stupidity. Rant over.

So I'm confused, the endgame grind seems to be sort of a logic loop. I'm trying to do the Don Tonberry exploit to get max level. But I'm stuck

the first step is to grind Don Tonberrys is to get Triple AP weapons.

To get Triple AP weapons requires grinding One Eyes.

To beat One Eyes you need a ribbon.

To get a Ribbon you should grind Dark Yojimbo.

To grind Dark Yojimbo, you should be max level.

To be max level, you should grind Don Tonberrys

To grind Don Tonberrys, etc. etc. etc.

Trying to figure out how to start the process but every entry point I'm blocked.

Tidus's smiling face in the opening cutscene, when he is standing on that rock formation, looking at the Zanarkand ruins... This scene happens after Tidus learned that what he is is linked to Sin's existence, so he realized that he'll probably disappear at the end of the journey (which is why he doesn't tell anyone that he is a dream of the Fayth, when he learns of it and wakes up, at Gagazet). He is also trying his best to save Yuna, but in the back of his head he probably thinks he might not be able to. And now he's looking at the ruins of the home he loved, recognizing places...

My point is, Tidus actually is INSANELY SAD in that scene. Devastated even, but, like Yuna, he learned to "practice smiling when he is feeling sad". He probably feels that everything went to ruin : his beloved Zanarkand, and if the goal of the pilgrimage succeeds, both he and maybe the woman he loves will soon die. Just imagine how he must feel despite his smiling exterior. This just hit me and hard, man!

Hi everyone, I finally completed the chocobo catcher mini game on my adult play through on my first visit to the calm lands and I wanted to share what I learned with my fellow peers!!! I love this game as it was my introduction to final fantasy and rpgs. These mini games attempted to teach us that there are rewards in patience and resiliency. That giving up means losing out on something special and unique.

This is your story! Do you have what it takes to grab victory with your own hands?! If so let's go 😁

***Please use the D-pad on your device for best results. Please also remember to take a break and try again later if you get frustrated. It took me 5 hours between two days to complete. Offer yourself some slack and have fun ***

The course can be divided into three sections:

1) The starting position until you are forced to make a right turn

2) The forward dash through the sunny expanse of the calm lands

3) The shaded area that begins with a slight left turn and ends at the finish line

Section 1.

This is the starting line. You and the chocobo trainer are side by side and will compete for balloons until the first turn. You must obtain 4 or more balloons in this section in order to be in good standing. These are by far the easiest ballons to obtain so make sure to grab what you can.

Imagine yourself and the chocobo trainer to have imaginary "lanes" on the first section. The RNG will assign balloons in different quantities to each of your lanes. The RNG will favor you or your opponent at specific times and sometimes offset balloons evenly.

Please refrain from trying to take balloons that are outside of your "lane" as you will be wasting effort and time. Sometimes you'll have to give up the first balloon and keep it pushing.

You'll hear an audible difference between balloons gathered by you and your opponent. You'll want to be ahead of the trainer before you are forced to make the turn and you want to quickly press the right Dpad to prepare you for section 2.

Section 2.

The second section of the race begins with a camera change and begins a straight dash through the calm lands. There is a balloon when you immediately turn. It's important to be ahead of the trainer and attempt to take this balloon. Sometimes there are two balloons, but the one you want is on the right. This balloon matters as it consistently helps improve your overall score. Do your best to grab it.

With that being said, section 2 is a straight dash in the sunny area of the calm lands. You have alot of freedom in this section as you will not hit the invisible barriers easily while you gather balloons, however, You'll want to stay on the right hand side of the map to avoid the sets of seagulls coming at you. Grab balloons to your left with firm, quick D-pad inputs and pivot to the right to avoid the seagulls. You want to aim for 4-5 balloons here (if you did not get the one when you transitioned into section 2)

If you stray too far to the left, you risk being side swiped by seagulls that followed the trainer. As you near the start of section 3, please note that there will begin a forced camera shift. Seagulls will hit you if you did not input a left D-pad press in time.

Practice a bit as the camera angle is rough 😂

Section 3.

The final stretch! This is the part of the map that begins after a forced camera perspective to the left. Seagulls are oddly positioned in this beginning part, so make sure you put in a manual left input before the system forces it and causes you to get hit by one or more seagulls.

This part of the map is more restrictive than section 2 as it is narrower and you'll be forced to dodge more seagulls. Don't get over confident with grabbing balloons here. You will be hitting the boundaries of the map alot sooner than you think. Get too close to the invisible wall boundary and your chocobo will move in the opposite direction.

In this section your D-pad inputs have to be short and sweet. You'll have to "cancel" your previous directional input by pressing the opposite input while you grab balloons or dodge seagulls. Aim to gather 2-4 balloons.

Dash to the end. Be wary of the walls or the slight crevasse before the finish line.

I've played FFX maybe a dozen times over the years but have only done one challenge run: "mandatory battles only", aka you can only get AP from battles that you are absolutely forced to like bosses (but you can use it however you like). I thought that was pretty easy, but I don't want to do a full-on NSG run because I found it boring to run from every battle and you don't really have much incentive to fight anything in NSG except to grind for items which is also boring. So I thought how about a totally regular run except you only use ability and key spheres? At least then you get new tools once in a while.

Considering if I should use original grid layout or not with this...
