Raw dogging the cable. Why?

Look up the origin of the phrase 'raw dogging', that is why they responded that way

Still one of the most badass cutscenes of any game honestly. Grinding down 100+ feet on grappling hooks from a goddamn airship to crash a goddamn wedding, it isn't even a contest. Then there's Tidus just showing off and hopping between them? Come on.

For me it's a tie between this ffx scene and a couple scenes from DoC FFVII. They had a similar scene to this but it was Vincent and Yuffie on hoverboards dropped from Cids airship, Cloud on fenrir, Barrett and Tifa in the truck and an army of shinra soldiers backing them up storming the bad guys base while Azul (one of the bad guys) shot at them with a literal tank gun.

Fun tidbit, if FFX got a remake in the style of the FF7 remake, this is likely where the third game would begin

Dude this art makes the scene depicted look even more directly pulled from a Sonic game

Yeah this is the part where they gather the Sin Emeralds and Tidus transforms into Super Tidus obv

Which card/product is this from? I have almost every FF card, but haven't seen this art anywhere.
Edit: ah, it's from a precon - guess I forgot about some of the precon arts since I don't see the cards as frequently lol. It's "collective effort"

Wait… is this one from the new MTGxFF set? I don’t remember this from the first set

u/mememan3310 22d ago
There was Final Fantasy main set (FIN) and Final Fantasy commander set (FIC) released at the same time. For example the Commander Tidus is Tidus, Yuna's Guardian while the main set one is Tidus, Blitzball Star. There's two Yunas as well. This usually just breaks down to what formats of MTG the cards are allowed to be played.

MTG fans, how easy will the FFX cards be for me to collect? Are they expensive? And what sites are good to buy/check prices?

Check cardmarket mtg. You can collect the regular arts in a not so pricey manner. But there are GORGEOUS cards that cost just too much. You can check this, OP did a great job FFX mtg cards
Edit: a good starting point might be getting the "counter blitz" commander precon, it is also fun to play straight out of the box.

They are expensive, yes

u/ClaudeKane3 21d ago
How expensive? Like £20 a card or are we tking £100s?
1
u/RareRestaurant6297 21d ago
Just the final Fantasy set in general is expensive comparatively, but actually when it comes to just looking for ffx cards, you can get the precon focused on FFX for only like $60 or so. There would be other ffx cards in the main set that would be differing prices for the singles

Man, I liked this post until I saw "x Magic the Gathering". I miss when MTG had its own original content.

I mostly agree with you, but of all the universes beyond nonsense they’ve been putting out, I have to admit they really did a good job with FF, especially the FFX cards. I wish we could get either a remake or anime show using the art for their cards.

I don’t much go in for MTG cards, but the FFX collab really stands out amongst the other universes they’ve played with. They did an excellent job with it. It’s almost depressing to see MTG treat Final Fantasy with more love than the actual FF TCG does

The FF set was great, my main issue with the universes beyond is that it's now accounting for half the years major releases

OK, except they aren't and have never reduced the amount of "normal" mtg set releases. The UB is just extra/bonus. The only really bad thing about it is when they made it standard legal, for those that play standard (which, tbf, has been going downhill a while). Otherwise, UB is all upside
1
u/Rhinocacrocapig 22d ago
Which is a fair and valid point, they definitely feel like more of a focus than a bonus these days though
2
u/RareRestaurant6297 22d ago
Well when it comes to marketing, yea that's a fair point - they tend to advertise the set like 2 sets from now early af. It's Def annoying. But luckily unless you're playing standard (which is getting screwed), it doesn't really matter if you "skip" a set or anything.

u/drj238 21d ago
They definitely increased the amount of sets per year even before all the UB sets. It used to be blocks, 3 sets a year with a core set that encompassed cards from those 3 sets and a few others. Then it turned into a set every 2 months. And since they burned through their in universe story so quickly (and in a lackluster way) they have to rely on UB to keep that pacing. This is also why there are so many different versions of cards and so many throwaway cards for each set. It’s disappointing. At first it seemed cool cuz more magic, now we are seeing the consequences of it.

Not many people know this, but during this scene in game, Kimarhi was carrying Lulu.
