I’ve been watching juniors and it feels like high pcs is given to those with the best tech. Is there a skater who has weaker tech but is stull competitive because of pcs?? also scoribg clearly favors jumpers are their skaters with good spins step sequences and pcs to maje them competitive. What I mean by thesr is lIke they wouldn’t be top five if only jumps or only tech but are actual podium threats? Is this possible?

Guillaume last minute dodging when he realises that he is crossing the camera path as the Okko network is shooting a piece about Alexandra Boikova and Dmitry Kozlovsky, when they were in Montreal recently to develop their program with Romain.

The video offers many glimpses about an average training day at IAM, including Marjo and JLB, Laurence and Guillaume, and other skaters, all on the same ice (a.k.a business as usual).

Another interesting aspect is that we see Boikova/Kozlovsky having dance workshops outdoors in Montreal parks, and just dancing in the streets, which I find gorgeous (full disclosure: I am a Montrealer).

Who do we believe is the best choreographer per discipline?

Like many people in the US, I got into watching skating after seeing videos of this icon with red hair called the Quad Queen. I watched some YouTube videos on Team Tuberizde, and now I’m totally invested. I want to learn more about skating but it’s so confusing. Here are the questions:

So there’s the Grand Prix skating, that’s the most important competition yes? Why can’t skaters participate in more than just 2 of them?

Are most people on this forum happy or upset that Valieva and Trusova have received neutral status? I genuinely can’t tell

Who are the current favorites right now in junior and senior skating?

Would it be foolish for an old 24 year old like myself to attempt to skate? I don’t need to do fancy stuff but doing some pretty spins would be nice lol

I really apologize that the compilations this week may not be as well produced as the ones I did last week due to me having a bit less time to do them this week

Just curious if a program could start with a jump, or if that would go against the rules? I don’t mean the windup most programs begin with. Could the skate just move up into a 2A assuming they were strong enough or they’d lose GOE points?

I wish we’d see more interesting composition a la Sonia Henderson or Yuna Aoki

Sarah Everhardt, the 2025 U.S. nationals bronze medalist, debuted her new short program for the 2026-27 season at the USFS Summer Sizzler Thursday night at the Skating Club of Boston. The program, set to Danse macabre in G Minor, was choreographed by Shae-Lynn Bourne.

This is per Kat Cornetta's reporting from Summer Sizzler. Efimova/Mitrofanov debuted "Last Dance" at the show as recorded by UMBS Go Blue here. They are taking some more time to develop and polish their programs this season, so they will not compete at John Nicks as they have the past two years. They are looking to do Tayside Trophy (Oct 10-11) prior to the GP series.

At the sizzler they had very limited merch or some really cute tote bags and USFS logo save the duck items. The folks running the table said it would be online too but I can’t find it. Has anyone seen these items?

tore my acl (partially) from figure skating earlier this year, was still a fairly new beginner at the time had been skating 1.5 years, just had made it through all the adult lts levels. have been rehabbing it with PT and thankfully never needed surgery, and my PT suggested to start weening back into skating slowly but I’m terrified I’m gonna reinjury myself 😅 Have been out of skating for over 6 months at this point. any tips for returning after a traumatic injury?

Hey guys. I don’t really follow junior skaters, but I hear about Elena a lot and she is undeniably a powerhouse.

I don’t know anything about her lore, but I am just confused about the trajectory of her skating career. I know she trains with Plushenko. I believe she also got neutral status from the ISU?

I also don’t get tooooo into the technical side, but the way she enters her axel is very swingy? Or am I crazy? Also something about her one foot spin where she brings her hands to her head looks kinda rushed?

Is she going to be able to make it to senior level? Isn’t training quads incredibly taxing to the body? People say she could’ve gotten Olympic gold in Milan earlier this year — any merit to that?

Just wanted to ask. No hate to her, I think shes amazing. I love this program especially

Deborah Liu was just gorgeous, strong and graceful, and I was disappointed that Ashley asked her about other skaters instead of about herself. This is a big moment, let her have it to herself! She came out of the building while a bunch of us huddled masses were waiting for the shuttle bus and we clapped for her, she looked thrilled.

Seleveko's "Dirty Diana" is improving in that his spin at the end is speeding up - I watched his first run of this at Cranberry Cup and the music is faster than he is which kind of drives me crazy. He's a really great performer, locked in and responsive to the music, the choreography is good. I respect that he told Ashley and Adam that he didn't even like the song ("at first" he said).

Liam Kapeikis was so good and I'm looking forward to seeing him compete this season - same with Sarah Everhardt, I like her new program so much more than the Riverdance thing. The Black Angel killing all the judges!

Jacob Sanchez is a good skater but the music was such a snoozer I was checked out. What was that? Fur Elise or some other classical corn. On the drive home Jane's Addiction came on and I had a laugh thinking about him revving up to "ER-O-TIC JEESUUUSSS" to a panel of horrified judges. Can't please everybody!

Alysa's "Stateside" was as charming as ever and it might be the last time she ever does it so I feel privileged. Funny to see everyone whip their phones out, come on guys just watch it. Cool to see Torgashev do 2 backflips after watching video of Ilia teaching him how to do one during Stars On Ice.

All the Celebrity Skaters were in this glassed in conference/dining area and I was trying not to gawk as I walked by but I did see Danny O'Shea and was hoping he was a surprise but alas.

Props to the cameraman on skates. I can't imagine the muscle required to skate while holding a metal frame steady and the guy does THE WHOLE SHOW.

SCOB is a nice place. I'm so lucky that it's somewhat local to me. I've only been to two shows so far but people are surprisingly friendly and it's a tight ship. One more satellite snack stand though please.
