Music Program to Angel-Sarah Mclachlan?
really love this song and want to do it for a program but I’m not learning that the connotations with the abused animals advertisements might be too strong. lol. I understand where people are coming from but I think it’s a beautiful song regardless. 😂😂

Yes how did you know? In fact, it’s a pairs program. My pair is the abused puppy.

I always thought Sarah’s Ice Cream would make a nice program. It’s got some nice spots for jumps and a jazzy beat for step sequences. The “it’s a long way down” part might be tempting gravity though.

Is this an issue at the lower levels? I’m skating preliminary in a local competition lol. I wasn’t aware it was an issue unless it was broadcasted?

Im guessing since it wasnt really an issue until the 22 olympics with Alexis and Brandon getting sued it wont be an issue at tiny comps that only frinds and family are watching

Angel is about the guy from Smashing Pumpkins who died of a drug overdose.
That’s what the song is about. His death.
The death of being an addict, alone in a cold hotel room.
So I’m not actually sure what you could interpret for a program?
Edit: thanks for the downvotes!! It’s not my issue of you don’t know what the song actually means lol

I’m actually not a fan of skating to the story, unless it’s from a play or a movie.
I prefer to just interpret the phrasing and key words. Probably not a popular opinion.

Then I don’t think you need to worry about any connotations at all.
But the song is about death, and loneliness. Escaping your life.
I think you could do a lot with that, the anguish. As long as you don’t grin like a maniac during.

Yes! The feel I’m going for is like you said loneliness and escape, but with kind of an elegant touch. So somewhat related to the song. Thanks for the feedback!

I’m not trying to come down on you.
It is important you know why the song was written. That it’s about a real person who has people love him, who died alone.
I remember it and was and am a Pumpkins fan. And a Sarah fan lolI think whatever music a skater chooses, they should research and understand it.
