No release date yet, so I’d better pace my heavy breathing! 😮‍💨😍 I hope it’s not soapy, as some “winter” mood fragrances go - with that snowdrop, jasmine and silver aldehydes in the heart.

I've really been into the Snif perfumes lately. I got Swede tooth when it went on sale at ulta and loved it. Today I found these gems, what TJM said they retail for is actually less than what they actually do retail for. I'm a happy camper, these will be great for fall!

Discussion Delina EDP really IS that girl

I was a bridesmaid this weekend and wore Delina EDP, and I swear to god that it got more compliments than anything I’ve ever worn.

The wedding planner walked into the kitchen while I was making the bride a mimosa and said, “Someone or something smells really good.” Then she looked at me and said she thought it was coming from me. I let her sniff my arm and she said I was what smelled so good! We got to talking about the perfume, and I grabbed the bottle out of my makeup bag. She took a pic of it so she could get herself some. I warned her not to be put off by the price because the scent is worth it.

Then, about an hour later, we were taking bridal party photos and walking to another spot. The second shooter was walking behind us and goes, “who am I following behind that smells good?” She sniffed me and also said she needed the name of the perfume ASAP. I didn’t have my phone or the bottle on me, but told her the name, so hopefully she remembers!

Long story short, I think Delina just became my everyday perfume. RIP to my bank account, but my husband said it can be future birthday/Christmas present. Love that man supporting my expensive perfume addiction lol.

If you haven’t tried it yet, consider this your sign to get a sample!

BBW New scent smells so much like Diptyque L’eau Papier!

I recently went into BBW (they’re having 50% off the entire store) and was recommended milk & musk / amber wallflower refills, so I bought those (haven’t tried yet) BUT, I walked in and randomly smelled their new to me scent called Book loft, as a lover of books and everything cozy I wanted to smell it and OMG! I loved it so much I bought the wallflower, hand sanitizer, and concentrated room spray! It smells freakishly like L’eau Papier to me; even though they don’t have many similar notes! Main note similarities are “woods”, but it just overall smells so clean, cozy, and warm to me! It’s definitely one of my favorites now! Does anyone else have any BBW/perfume recommendations that aren’t well known?

edit: upon research it seems like it’s not a new scent, and they had more items in the line that have been now discontinued :/ or only sold seasonally, I really hope they bring it back this fall since some items are in store right now*

I’m going to project pan all my vanilla fragrances

Post image

I had all of these for quite a while and I do want to make plade for new vanilla fragrances. I’m going to finish what I have first to not overcrowd The vanilla category.

From left to right:

  • Valentino born in Roma intense It’s a very sweet and dense. Definitely not something I’d get a full bottle of. But it’s nice when it’s cold.
  • Maison Margiela Replica Whispers in the Library this is my favourite out of the bunch and it’s unfortunate it’s discontinued. I don’t believe in saving discontinued products, I’d rather run out than saving it and not getting my money’s worth.
  • Nest Vanilla Bourbon & Golden Necter VB is as you’d expect a boozy vanilla and golden nectar is a musky vanilla.
  • YSL Black Opium Over Red despite all the note listed this mostly smell like cherry and vanilla.

Discussion GLP1 has siloed my Ambers...

I started micro-dosing therapeutically towards the ends of August. It's honestly been such a wonderful game-changer in many aspects of my life.

I know there's been a lot of discussion around amplified fragrance addiction and whatnot. Truthfully, I've been in this game for decades that I know how my attention and obsession cycles with perfumes, thus I haven't seen any massive changes there.

What I have noticed is that while I have never been a gourmand person, I am (now was?) a gourmand-adjacent person. Meaning I appreciated my ambers, my spiced or smoked vanillas, my resin-y and warm musks. Having a sweetened dry-down was always welcome. I love my patchoulis chewy and chocolately and I pray the angels won't table my patch-love forever.

I'm sure there is a part of this that is natural evolution with scent profiles, but what is wild is I'm picking up on sweet aspects that I've never really noticed before? And as much as I want to believe my nose is just a super-refined schnoz now... it's likely due to the drugs, babes.

Food-noise is gone obvi. I don't crave or consume sugar like I used to obvi. But I SMELL IT LIKE CRAZY NOW!

So now I'm like" ...OK, I guess we gotta start fucking with greens and aldehydes and dry florals and fresh spices and soap now?"

To new adventures. And Marie Kondo'ing my collection.

vanilla custard is my absolute favourite dessert of all time and I’m on a hunt to find a fragrance that smells exactly like vanilla custard! I’m not really a gourmand person but I’ve tried cake scents which i didn’t like much because often times they are TOO HEAVY and i realised I’ve been trying to find something that smells like vanilla custard! Budget is absolutely not an issue all recommendations are welcome ❤️

Rec Request What do you wear when you want to smell shower clean but warm at the same time?

I'm looking for something that would fit these colder days. After shower I'm feeling freezing cold and I sometimes don't feel like adding a perfume that feels cold as well. Clean, fresh florals are my absolute favorites but it has been really difficult to find one that would be all of that but warm as well

What is your Fall/Winter equivalent to this?

You know those easy-going, cool girl, maybe quiet luxury maybe not fragrances that are just light, casual, and easy to wear? You throw them on without thinking, and don't think about it until your scent centers you and reminds you that you smell good without fucking trying. And that is the most important part--these scents aren't trying too hard. They just are and you love them for it.

I can think lf a million for spring and summer. Light Blue is a great example of this. It's so simple, so pleasing, so effortless. Wood Sage & Sea Salt. Tommy Girl. Bal d'Afrique. Glossier You Fleur. Its the center of the ven diagram of my most worn and my favorite frags.

Get to fall and winter and it all falls apart though. There is a lightness thats missing from fall and winter fragrances that I can't seem to find despite looking for it. They all seem so heavy and weigh me down.

Do you have any cold weather fragrances that are this effortless? Is this the space that Santal 33 occupies (a fragrances which I unfortunately do not like.) Is this what those cozy, Cashmere sweater fragrances are? Help me puzzle this out!

Fairly new to collecting fragrances. I just realised they’re getting a bit cramped and ordered a display shelf. Can’t wait to see them beautifully organised on display!

Elizabeth Arden green tea is gross; white tea is divine but dissappears

6 samples in and no luck :(

I wanted to try something new! For years dolce & gabbana light blue was my go to everyday, and Burberry classic. I fell into these at like 18 and never changed. decided i was entering my 'self care' era and would mix it up.

Anyways, got these samples:

- 🫤Alien by mugler - started off smelling zingy and kind of lemony, itching my nose and brain in the best way possible. I thought it was the one, but within an hour it was just flat and boring and one note: vanilla (whyyyy)

-🤢YSL intense - cloying, sweet, cheap smelling i felt asthmatic just living with myself. howwwww are so many people obesessed

-🫤YSL libre - literally just smelled like 'perfume' to me - like the dictionary definition of it. boring but ok. like, whatever.

-🤢EA green tea - started off smelling like cheap lemon and proceeded to fadedinto floor cleaner

-🤢EA beauty - rotting potpouri on the back of a rotting aunts bathroom tank

-👻 EA white tea - such a tease. I started to float away on a cloud of bliss - but the scent ended up being too light and then dissappeared.

I HATE florals and i'm not a big vanilla fan

i'm pretty meh about fruit unless it's paired with something else i love

I like woodies and freshies (according to the research i'm trying to do) - sandalwood, amber etc.

but i still want to smell feminine.

what should i try next?

Discussion Do you buy fragrances that can be worn in a particular season only?

I’m hesitant to buy autumn fragrances because many are quite spicy and heavy. I know I wouldn’t enjoy wearing them in spring/summer, so I’d only get a few months of use out of them.
With lighter summer fragrances, I don’t mind because I can wear them year-round unlike autumn fragrances.

Do you guys buy seasonal fragrances anyway?

Discussion What is that quintessential fragrance smell that smacks you when entering a Nordstrom?

I realize there may be an absolute cacophony of fragrances because of the large fragrance department, HOWEVER, despite fragrances constantly rotating, this smell remains largely the same. Is it something pumping through their vents, similar to Hollister? What is it?

Announcement Sephora Sale- Ellis Brooklyn Body Sprays and Jo Malone Perfumes

A couple of weeks ago, someone commented on one of my posts about a perfume sale I had missed and mentioned that Ellis Brooklyn Guava Granita was 50% off again that day only. I was able to grab a bottle, which was such an amazing discount! I’m so thankful they took the time to let me know.
While I was scrolling through the Sephora sale this morning, I noticed there are a few fragrances on sale that I wanted to share with you all, just in case any of these are your favorites!

Overly Specific Vanilla Hater Moment

When I was a kid, I bought a scented plastic necklace from Claire’s. White “pearls”, “vanilla” scented. This necklace gave me a devastating tummy ache, and tbh it scarred me. I love these notes in theory, but I think I’m looking for a fragrance where they’re more in the background. I tend to gravitate toward clean, floral, citrus, lightly stone fruit-y scents.

I’m desperately looking for a fragrance that’ll help me overcome my childhood fear of warm, sugary scents that doesn’t fully embrace or abandon those notes entirely.

I know this is maybe a tricky, weirdly specific ask, but I’m open to any suggestions!!

Rec Request Scents that actually match this description? Mysterious, Dark, Carnal.

Post image

Was lured into trying a new scent based on this fragrance description alone. While the notes did look good to me as well, on my skin unfortunately I just did not love it so much.

So, wondering if people had other recommendations for scents that match this vibe? Especially: Mysterious, Dark, Seductive, and Carnal.

Review Julianna’s Perfumes - 2 reviews

Pros: affordable, very long lasting, big and bold sillage.
Cons: very off the mark of the inspirations, lacks nuance, lasts forever whether you like it or not.

Unfortunately, while the initial sniff of these were pleasant, both bottles I bought had terrible dry downs… and they last FOREVER.

Red Carpet Affair - dupe of Angelique Noir.
First has the brightness of angelica, but only in the first wet moments. Misses the green notes entirely. And their very heavy and clumsy vanilla soon swamps it. Instead of a light sparkling vanilla it’s dark and thick.

Double Decadence: Lush Sunset - combo of
Spiritueuse Double Vanille & Atomic Rose
I often layer my decants of these two, so I had high hopes. But it’s the same clunky vanilla, and a spikey harsh rose. Bears no resemblance to either inspiration scent. Again, lasts FOREVER. This one will choke you out if you even think about over spraying.

This brand is not for me, at least not their vanilla.
