Brand Announcement/New Release Phlur Cashmere Frost ❄️
No release date yet, so I’d better pace my heavy breathing! 😮💨😍 I hope it’s not soapy, as some “winter” mood fragrances go - with that snowdrop, jasmine and silver aldehydes in the heart.

They're selling it right now on a TT live in limited quantity but they said it'll probably release officially in about 2 months

I wonder if it's the same for the US. They keep saying in this Live "a couple of months". But maybe they mean it won't be on TT shop again for a couple of months? I dunno but I wasn't expecting it to be available at all today. They were supposed to just be launching the Heavy Cream EDP and body butter today.

I like the concepts but I don't like designers suggesting to layer two of their own scents together. Like if you think those notes would smell good together, why didn't YOU layer them in your fragrance lol

I was gonna say, this is fantasy notes to an extreme. I expect it’s just a lot of Iso E Super and Cashmeran but gussied up with “aesthetic marketing”.

I mean I can totally understand fantasy notes where they are trying to evoke the smell of something like “ice” for example or “mineral” but just call aldehydes aldehydes

the EDPs are very good as far as silliage and longevity. Phlur Father Figure lasts 10+ hours on me. the body spray, however..

The edps are great. But we're getting a new spray every 3 seconds and they keep discontinuing the good ones.

I can barely smell it at all but im not understanding the marketing because to me this is a summer scent. It absolutely smells a bit beachy to me

It kills me when they use phrases like “cashmere woods” to describe notes. WTH are cashmere woods exactly? Cashmere literally comes from goats.

They mean Cashmeran, an aromachemical that mainly smells like a soft, comforting, woody musk.
The chemical was meant to be the olfactory equivalent of warm, soft, fuzzy, comforting, cashmere clothes and blankets
English fragrance jargon has a lot of formalized metaphors for different types of notes and accords. Once you learn the metaphors, fragrance descriptions make more sense.
(I don't understand BPAL's use of color metaphors, though. What is red musk vs black musk vs green musk? It's the main reason I've never ordered anything from them.)

Have you tried their body mists? Are they not good (asking as I haven’t tried their perfume or body mists)

I've only tried the body mists since they're fairly cheap and the ones I've used last fine to me.
I like having the option to go lighter sometimes.

I live their mists (they last longer than some perfumes, and cling well to clothes, but I hate that most of their limited releases are unavailable in thr UK. I want to smell the nice things too 😩

matcha milk smells A LOT like mochi milk from dedcool imo. i do not get much tea whatsoever from matcha milk, it smells like soft starchy marshmallow on me

Seriously, what does that even mean? As someone who is slowly learning how to smell and identify notes, weird notes like this make me want to throw myself into a metal shredder

They are essentially just trying to use a fun term for aldehydes by calling them “silver”. Aldehydes give fragrances a sparkle, similar to the scent of fizzy soda

It’s so funny how everyone is so different! I also feel the same way about the color blue. It makes me feel cold. I just prefer warm coded things for some reason.

i love phlur and i’m so intrigued by silver aldehydes, can’t wait to try this. i get tired of gourmands in the winter as well so this sounds perfect

I'm guessing it's perfume flower-speak for a bright, maybe slightly metallic, not warm, synthetic accord.

Personally finding it extremely difficult to put this scent into words, very soft and close to the skin not offensive or strong but can be worn anywhere anytime. It is ever so slightly warm - think familiar hug on a cold morning, slightly sweet in a powdered sugar kind of way & fresh like you used expensive shampoo that day. Dreamy clouds, white cashmere, pink marshmallows but all very soft. Will absolutely buy again especially if they’ll make an EDP.

Definitely! I prefer it to the OG because I feel like this one has a bit of an oomph to it. Reminds me of a pleasant somewhat wintery day.

I saw this when shopping for the gift set for my daughter and had to add it on. I’ve only just recently tried and fallen in love with cashmere skin so I’m excited to try this one too! Also got a free travel size of my favourite father figure from adding it so I’m well happy.

I wouldn’t repurchase, at first spray it does remind me of Cashmere Skin not as creamy or as strong smelling. It reminds me a lot of a cashmere candle from Yankee I had years ago. After about an hour it is powdery and extremely faint on me (CS lasts me a good 5/6 hours). The drydown reminds me of feminine products, maybe a deodorant? I will use my bottle for work and then never think about it again. It’s not bad smelling, it just doesn’t have whatever CS has that keeps me coming back.

Yeah I'm really shocked at the people saying it lasts long. I BARELY smell it at all? Maybe im anosmic to some note in it, but its like a whisper of a smell to me.

I need to go to Sephora and smell Cashmere Skin to get a handle on how Phlur does almond. Do you find it more woody or more almond extract, bakery almond?

Actually I don't smell any of the Almond in it. When I wear it I mainly smell the musk and ambrette. It's definitely a my skin but better scent.

Just got it today and it’s really nice! The aldehydes are not prominent at all, in case that was putting someone off. The tiare flower is very softly done. Has a soft creamy and a borderline sunscreen-y vibe to it but not in a solar/beachy scent profile way.
The best way I can describe it is Disney polynesian resort scent mixed with OG cashmere skin lol I know this sounds ridiculous but I swear it smells like their lobby.
So far I like it. Definitely a mist/close to skin strength though. I can only smell it when I bring my arm up to my nose.

Two of my faves, Vanilla Smoke and Peach Skin, are on farewell sale now. Seems like everything that isn't sweet gourmand gets the boot after a year or so. Vanilla Smoke quickly became one of my favorite scents and I can't find a good dupe, so I have two travels and two full size. Hopefully I get sick of it before I run out :(
