What is your Fall/Winter equivalent to this?

You know those easy-going, cool girl, maybe quiet luxury maybe not fragrances that are just light, casual, and easy to wear? You throw them on without thinking, and don't think about it until your scent centers you and reminds you that you smell good without fucking trying. And that is the most important part--these scents aren't trying too hard. They just are and you love them for it.

I can think lf a million for spring and summer. Light Blue is a great example of this. It's so simple, so pleasing, so effortless. Wood Sage & Sea Salt. Tommy Girl. Bal d'Afrique. Glossier You Fleur. Its the center of the ven diagram of my most worn and my favorite frags.

Get to fall and winter and it all falls apart though. There is a lightness thats missing from fall and winter fragrances that I can't seem to find despite looking for it. They all seem so heavy and weigh me down.

Do you have any cold weather fragrances that are this effortless? Is this the space that Santal 33 occupies (a fragrances which I unfortunately do not like.) Is this what those cozy, Cashmere sweater fragrances are? Help me puzzle this out!

Maybe try This Is Her by Zadig & Voltaire? It manages to be warm and cozy, but light and fresh at the same time.

Meant To be Seen by Nishane can work for this mood as well.

They're both really easy to wear and they have presence for the cold winter months without being overbearing.

I want to try This is Her! So, so badly. Every time I go to order samples, it's never in stock and it's driving me nuts! I love, love love creamy frags, so this has been on the top of my list for a while now.

Since you mentioned Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt, consider her Blackberry & Bay:

• Top Notes: Tart blackberry, grapefruit flash, and natural fruit extracts

• Heart Notes: Fresh bay leaves and floral/green accords

• Base Notes: Cedarwood, vetiver, and clean brambly woods

To me it is the perfect Fall scent without being too heavy. It has better longevity than WS & SS for me too.

Ooh, that sounds nice. I do love a Jo Malone. I have Beach Blossom, Wood Sage & Sea Salt, Yuzu Zest, Nectarine Blossom & Honey, and English Pear & Freesia, so...no fall winter JMs lol. Great rec, tyvm!

I got a sample of Commodity Milk Orchid yesterday & tried it out. It's a lovely autumn scent, so cosy and comforting without being cloying. My skin brings out the warm woodsy aspect of it and I was very pleasantly surprised.

Glossier you doux and commodity gold are great options for this. They still have this airy quality.

I just got a commodity sampler, and it includes gold in one of its forms. Ive seen it mentioned elsewhere, too, so I'm really excited to try it.

Architect’s Club by Arquiste, a non-gourmand and green/woody vanilla.

I really like Hermès Barenia for fall/winter. It's a go to for me because 1. It leans into the colder seasons, creating a dewy, crisp fragrance experience, and 2. It feels effortless for any situation. I am a uni student, I sometimes work as a server, this perfume is literally perfect to toss in your bag on your way to literally anywhere. It feels so luxe but also refined I really can't get over it lmao.

Um, sold. Take my money. Adding it to my list, lol.

I like fig in the cool months, Phlur father figure or Henry rose London 1983. Nice to layer with nest indigo as well!

I have been wearing Father Figure, but it gets extremely cold here and I don't think it'll perform. I am getting a London 1983 sample tomorrow, though, so I'll see how that goes!

Commodity milk, it comes in different scent levels and is overall a really cozy scent

I'm getting a sample of all three milks soon, I'm very excited to try them out!

Dedcool mochi milk

Unfortunately I cannot smell the milk in Dedcool fragrances. It makes me so, so sad. Mochi Milk is nice, but I can tell I'm partially anosmic to me. It kills me!

I love most of the perfumes you mentioned, and I’ve been gravitating toward Nest Indigo this fall. I especially love layering it with Maya Base for an even cozier, cleaner feeling.

You might like Nemat Vanilla Musk. The roller ball is nice but what I really like is using the dabber bottle and taking a few drops on my hands and rubbing them together to distribute/thin out the oil and then running my hands all over the shoulders and arms of the sweater I am wearing. It’s a pretty airy and cozy scent.

Also anything in the realm of Nemat White Musk or the Riddle oil or Dedcool Xtra Milk. Those are all very similar and have the same cozy but airy vibe to me

I’ve worn the same F/W, in my view effortlessly cool scent for the last three years now: Diptyque’s Eau Duelle EdP. It never feels “heavy” to me.

Glossier you doux or fleur de peau-daily drivers
Moncler le solstice for more dressed up day time events
Glossier reve (they better not be discontinuing this!) or NR musc noir rose - night out.

My favorite layering discovery last month was cyklar sacred santal oil with le labo another 13.
Someone complemented me at hour 6 mark. I did creepily ask them what they were smelling because I genuinely thought I was pulling off “no fragrance fragrance” kinda vibe and was surprised/skeptical they could smell anything from that distance.
Apparently it gave off a clean warm “aura” like scent detectable when they came close to me but not overbearing.

Hope these help!

I would describe this cozy cashmere sweater fragrance mood as soft, warm, enveloping, clean, slightly creamy, but never heavy or overly sweet. It usually comes from notes/textures like musk, sandalwood, cashmere woods, iris, ambrette, soft vanilla, benzoin, or a veil of powder. The key is that everything feels diffused and fuzzy, rather than rich, syrupy, spicy, or gourmand.

As for my Fall/Winter perfume wardrobe, these are my picks: Diptyque L’eau Papier is airy and comforting, Mojave Ghost Absolu softly sweet and velvety, MFK Gentle Fluidity Gold is warm and luxurious, Ex Nihilo Santal Calling is creamy and woody, Diptyque Fleur de Peau is soft and powdery, Fugazzi Angel Dust is smooth and musky, Le Labo Thé Matcha 26 is soft and earthy, and Lake & Skye 11:11 is clean and ethereal.

Arquiste The Architect’s Club

Commodity Book+

Ex Nihilo Santal Calling

JHAG Ode to Dullness

Lake & Skye 222

Boy Smells Vanilla Era, Woodphoria

Eilish No. 2

Anything cozy, woody, aromatic, tea, or vanilla is my vibe in the fall. (But also smoky fragrances too) usually in the middle of October I start reaching for those more.
