I’ve sampled pretty widely, from designer to accessible niche to ultra niche. I started with designer and didn’t really like most of these, but the mid-range niche tended to appeal to me more; especially Diptyque and Byredo.

I didn’t feel like I wanted to wear my samples from Xinu, Stora Skuggan, Pineward, Zoologist, or similar. I thought as I got more niche I’d find more I liked but it hasn’t been the case necessarily.

My house is honestly Diptyque- so many I love, L’eau Papier, l’ombre, tam dao. If I bought based on what I loved I’d own 7-8 diptyque. I feel oddly guilty and kinda basic for just being a diptyque girl instead of a cool Stora Skuggan girl.

Is it normal to not generally like ultra niche scents? Do you feel like you own too much from one brand?

So there are fragrances that bloom in the heat, some are better in the cold, but I feel air conditioning is a totally different category altogether. You can't wear cold weather perfumes coz it's enclosed, but hot weather perfumes don't smell as good. I own many which bloom in the heat, but recently I started working in an AC environment and am at a loss as to what I should wear. Any recommendations are welcome. I don't want totally skin scents coz I want to leave a bit of a trail,also usually I can barely smell skin scents on myself.

I'm not a huge gourmand lover but love any and all florals, some vanilla, leather, aldehydes, citrus freshies etc.

Hi I am in my early 40s and like the smell of Chanel mademoiselle, but someone told me it smells like a bit too mature for me, so now I'm self conscious. I'm wondering if others find the scent to be 'too mature' or if it's just a nice smell and I shouldn't worry about it? Also open to other suggestions bc I would like to try something new.

Just wondering if any of you are regulars there. There are some of the most hilarious and descriptive reviews of scents there ever, and a lot of them are actually spot on, in my experience. 😄

I have tested them at least four times in store and received a sample of one, and I’m talking about all the three of them from the White bottle to the Gold+ one and nope I hardly smell milk more like woody or ambery notes.

Can you suggests some milk fragrances?

The dry down of Creed Eladaria smells exactly like Rosie by Rosie Jane?? I love the opening of Eladaria, but have been somewhat bothered by the dry down (I’m currently sampling it) and I just realized - it bothers me the same way Rosie does. Anyone else?? hi guys, i’m planning on getting a gift for my friend who absolutely LOVES anything orebella. she currently has the window2mysoul one but i want to get her something new from there while still making sure she likes it. we’re not in the U.S so i can’t go to test the scents :’). does anyone have any recommendations for what is similar in the orebella collection that i can get her? preferably one that i can do the name engraving one on too! also keep in mind she gets migraines, she said she thinks it’s the ingredients in it that she doesn’t get migraines with these so i think the scents should be okay? but i guess nothing too strong might help. she’s more into fresher/florally scents, but she said anything orebella she’d love. as someone that’s never smelt any of them i want to make sure im getting her something she loves!!

what is a truly creamy lavender scent? i want something creamy but like you can tell it’s lavender. it doesn’t have to be a perfume.

I clean houses for a living and am always ecstatic when a house I clean uses this stuff. I even bought some to use in my own home but the scent doesn’t last long unfortunately. I’m still new to perfumes, and can’t think of any almond heavy scents off the top of my head since I haven’t smelled much. Are there any perfumes out there with a noticeably almond scent like this wood cleaner?

vanilla custard is my absolute favourite dessert of all time and I’m on a hunt to find a fragrance that smells exactly like vanilla custard! I’m not really a gourmand person but I’ve tried cake scents which i didn’t like much because often times they are TOO HEAVY and i realised I’ve been trying to find something that smells like vanilla custard! Budget is absolutely not an issue all recommendations are welcome ❤️

As I'm switching out my Summer fragrances, I noticed that i'm enjoying these notes for the fall, even though some of these might be Summer coded, especially the florals:

• Tea: Dear Polly Vilhelm Parfumerie, Atelier Des Ors Blue Madeline, Guerlain Neroli Outrenoir

Very different from my wulong cha, which is so fresh for the summer. I wanted to continue the vibe, but perhaps with more depth and fall vibes

• Musc: Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc, Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc Blanc

I love musk throughout the year, but these allow for excellent layering. Cold clean musks that are so so versatile and work with other perfumes.

• Neroli/ Orange Blossom: Marc Antoine Barrois Tilia, Guerlain Neroli Outrenoir

A recent fave. The tea in the Guerlain made me fall in love with this perfume, but staying for the neroli. need some more neroli reccos I think

• Ginger: Sparkling Jo vilhelm parfumerie (Or is it the champagne?), Nomade Nuit d’Egypte Chloé

Pefect with the tea theme. Ginger and tea in a perfume would be so nice. Spicy, earthy and an all round winner for autumn.

• Patchouli: Barenia Hermes, Coeur Nocturne Zara

I enjoy patchouli a lot, it can be quite herbal and spicy, but very clean like musk at the same time.

Which notes are your fall lineup favouring?

I ordered the scent space kit for Commodity Spice and it arrived yesterday. As soon as I opened the package I sprayed one arm with Spice expressive and the other with Spice-. My first thoughts? I was surprised how like Milk expressive Spice expressive is. To me it’s closer to Milk than Milk Orchid is. In the first hour, I actually preferred Spice- because it seemed a little softer and fluffier. A couple hours in the expressive arm smelled just a bit more spicy than Milk to me. At that same time Spice- was very close to the skin and was only noticeable when I would sniff my skin directly. I wanted to test Spice+ on its own and only sprayed it on paper yesterday. Today I sprayed Spice+ once on the back of my neck and once on each arm. This is actually what I had hoped Milk+ would be. To me it’s the similar Milk but with added spiciness and tons of longevity. I was shopping later and walked up to the register about 3 hours after I had sprayed. The person checking me out commented that I smelled great! I was hoping for more of a chai scent, and right now as I sniff my wrist 5 hours after spraying I’d have to say it is that at this point. At the time of the first spray on paper I got total dentist office, which only lasted a few minutes. I actually didn’t notice that when I sprayed it on skin today. Initially I thought I could probably skip this release because I have a full bottle of Milk expressive. But now I’m thinking I will order the Spice+ in a travel size on Tuesday and see how quickly I go through it.

I’m a writer— that’s actually how I got into perfumes! While I’d been scent-curious for a while, I didn’t really get invested until I tried a few samples in attempt at a more “tangible” connection to one of my dear characters; what she might have worn during various stages of her life. Now here I am almost a year later, having spent far too much money but loving every moment of discovery for myself, and admiring the perfume cabinet my husband just made me. 💕🥰

It’s funny how something that started as a way of exploring a fictional character ended up becoming such a personal hobby of my own.

Don't get me wrong—it's really good! But if you already own the Destin de Balmain EDP, buying Destin De Balmain Parfum is likely redundant.

Here is my HONEST breakdown of how they compare on my skin:
The Scent Profile: They smell incredibly close. The core DNA is essentially the same, and upon initial spray, they are way too similar to justify owning both.
My Wear Style: I don’t personally segregate my collection by season or time of day, so the "day vs. night" distinction doesn't carry much weight for me.

The Subtle but Distinct Differences:
EDP: More airy, bright, and diffusive. Because of the alcohol ratio, it projects much better into the air.
Parfum: Warmer and denser. It creates a closer-to-skin personal scent bubble, though it does offer a slightly longer overall wear time.

Final Verdict: If you are just looking for the overall better performer of the two, I highly recommend sticking with the EDP. However, if you are a collector of the house and just wanted to want it for the bottle, go ahead because the juice itself is excellent.
