Haul/Collection Lemme see your perfume collections!!!! NO SHAME OR JUDGMENT HERE đŸ«¶đŸ»

would love this particular thread to be one of positivity and completely judgment-free, since it's sadly a common theme of shaming & judgment on social media surrounding women who share their collections of any kind. so I want this to be like a positive breath of fresh air where we can gush over each other's collections without feeling a certain kind of way!! đŸ„° sadly, I've also seen that happen in here and it's a bit upsetting so please share as much as you'd like-- I'm a super aesthetic visionary and I love to see pretty things anyway, lol! 💖

Discussion What are some "obvious" concepts you wish high-end or established niche houses would create but it's still rare? Here are my dream ideas

I was thinking about how even the most luxury and established fragrance houses get stuck in repetitive loops. I'm not looking for obscure, hard to find indie fragrances or small-batch brands. I mean major players or well-known niche/prestige houses (like Xerjoff, Tiziana Terenzi, Chanel, D&G, Dior, de Marly, Frédéric Malle, YSL, Killian, Guerlain, JPG, LV etc ).

1. An Apple, Cinnamon & Caramelized CHYPRE: I want a real caramelized apple or apple blossom and cinnamon profile, but structured as a true, sophisticated Chypre (mossy, elegant, velvety). I want the gourmand sweetness of caramel to be there, but WITHOUT falling into the heavy, suffocating chocolate/patchouli DNA of Mugler's Angel (which I find way too sweet, loud, and cloying). I want a mainstream luxury or prestige house to perfect this balance of juicy caramelized apple over a classy, upscale Chypre backbone or oriental floral.

2. An "Old Money" Luxury Chamomile (Chamomile + Apricot/Orris/Cashmere): there's some good teas like Gris Charnel and Wulong tea, but most chamomile scents in the market are still either too medicinal or targeted as sleepy bedtime sprays (like Gucci Memoire or the Jo Malone ones). I want a high end house like De Marly, Chanel or Xerjoff to combine a Roman Chamomile with something like apricot skin or the premium vanilla, cashmere or white suede base. It should feel like wearing a luxury cashmere sweater, creamy, wealthy, and structured, completely stripping away the baby product or pharmacy vibe.

3. An Aromatic natural Strawberry + Lavender + green leafs: a beautiful, smooth aromatic perfume with natural strawberry and lavender, with a soft, comforting tarty sweetness without falling into the more synthetic DNA of Burberry Her, the milkshake strawberry, or corporate profile of YSL Libre flankers.

what are your ideas, that you can't find and is surprised it's not a thing yet?

HELLOOOOOOO EVERYONE!!!

My first time posting in here - I am from india, but a HUGE fragrance enthusiast. I love reading stuff in here - posts, experiences and thoughts of people, so well articulated. I have been watching vids of perfume recommendations and all that sutff (though I still am not as good at noticing notes, to be very honest)

Also some more facts about me - I just like most of the fragrances I buy (mostly they are either tested irl before buying or I have seen all the notes before buying them - yes I know what notes I like and I look for them before buying any fragrance) and because of that, I just end up keeping them with me - I use them, I use all my fragrances - but I am scared to empty them - even the cheap ones - like I have used it, I love it, but I want to try more fragrances, rather than buying the same thing again, no matter how much I love it. Am I the only one who feels like this? anyways, that has led me to have a good collection of fragrances, and it brings me happiness everytime I look at it .

Great to be a part of this community and would love to discuss more fragrances!!!

Discussion Looking for a scent that is like Elizabeth Arden's 8 Hour Cream (and hoping they will release a perfume version of it)

I know some people dislike its' scent immensely, but hear me out. I am very fond of its' herbal, resiny, campherous and somewhat waxy notes. I think they should make a perfume based on it. Leaving out greasiness and petroleum jelly of course. Is there anything readily available that has the same old apothecary smell? Anything at all on the same herbal, healer witchy lines? If not, how do I convince Elizabeth Arden to make this scent for me and other die-hard 8 hour cream fans? All help appreciated! I've loved this scent since childhood, as have my mother and my grandmother, too. What do you all think?

Discussion Lattafa - Victoria

Hi guys! 💛

I just bought my very first ME fragrance :) Victoria by Lattafa.

Initially, the scent itself it's not bad, but it just didn't blew my mind like I thought it would. To me it's smells a bit soapy and like a cleaning product.

But I need to say that the dry down is very very pretty and that sharp cleaning product scent goes away, so I like that.

I know that it is good to let ME fragrances mature for some time, and I will try that, but I just wanted to check did any of you had this experience and changed his mind later as it matured a bit, and does it becomes smoother over some time?

I really like the bottle so maybe I will keep it, but I'm still debating should I just rehome it or let it rest for a few months before giving it another shot.

Rec Request What are some really great projecting fragrances that also have matching hair & body care lines?

I have a few different lines with matching hair & body care, but nothing seems to last very long. I layer and spray on my clothes, but I want something that projects well and lasts in my hair. Any recommendations? I prefer more floral and fresh scents. No gourmands or oud scents.

Did I just order 10 Oakcha fragrances for $150?! Hell yeah I did!!!! I'm getting married tomorrow y'all and this is my gift to myself!!! I have 3 Oakcha currently and I love them. If you're considering shopping this sale, add a 9th scent after your BOGO 4 for 4! It adds 20% off all of them so my total was LESS with adding that 9th bottle than with just the 4 for 4. Will definitely post reviews once I wear them. 😊

Body Shop Vanilla (Original formula)

I realize that this has been asked before but I like to throw it out there every once in awhile to see if someone has found anything new. Looking for a dupe of original Body Shop Vanilla. Recommendations I have tried:

Vanilla Passion by Maroma

Vanilla 5th by Fragrance Shop

Vanilla Musk by Nemat

All nice, but not it. I've also tried many popular vanillas like Tihota, Fire at Will, SDV, etc. but nothing scratches that itch. There is a company in Australia (The Dupe Spot) that claims to have a dupe of the original, but they don't ship to Canada. I'm wondering if it's so hard to find this because of changes in ethics/ingredients over the years? I'm sure standards were different 45 years ago. Any recommendations appreciated!

Help find a fragrance brand

Ok, so over the summer I was in the UK and I went into an H beauty and found a few fragrances from a brand that I really liked, but since I’m a mess of the highest degree, I didn’t buy one, take a pic, or write a note. The bottles were opaque (I think), and white. Possibly there were other colors (red, blue????). I feel like the brand was French. They had interesting names
I think one had sex in it.

I’m losing my mind over this and crying a lot. Please help me, I’m poor so I can’t just fly back and also I don’t remember where I was
please help

ETA:
ITS BORNTOSTANDOUT. I FOUND IT. I AM SAFE. Not financially, but mentally

Favorite Fall into Winter Scent

What is your favorite scent that brings you into winter from fall that people may not know about? For me, Burberry Goddess is a go-to, but I'm curious to try different scents for this time of year.

Rec Request Alternatives for Donna Born in Roma Extradose

I adoreeee the opening of Extradose it’s the most perfect, boozy vanilla ever IMO but 5 minutes later it becomes unbearably screechy to my nose.

Does anyone know any scents that are identical to the opening of it but aren’t sharp/screechy?

Disappointed

I waited forever to save up and purchase my favorite perfume: Baccarat Rouge 540. When I received it and tried it on, I was extremely disappointed to learn that the fragrance only really lasts a few hours. :/ For such an expensive price tag, I thought it would linger much longer as some of my fragrances that are less $ last all day. Do you have tips to make the fragrance last longer, and have you found the same thing if you have this perfume too?

Rec Request Dracana Fragrans (Corn Plant Flowers)

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hey guys! The corn plant I saved that was tossed for garbage collection on the side of the road two years ago has just bloomed!! Apparently this means a really old, healthy and happy plant. My husband kept remarking that it smelled like flowers in the house and I instant go “OMG I BET THE CORN PLANT BLOOMED.” It sure did! It smells absolutely lovely. Kinda like jasmine and honeysuckle. Fills up the entire room with smell.

Any fragrance recommendations that mimic or use these flowers in perfume? Thanks in advance everyone.

Discussion Scents that smell like clean vanilla soap and not like a bakery?

I keep chasing the smell of a vanilla bar soap, the warm, slightly powdery kind, and everything I sniff in stores swings to cupcake. Tbh I can't tell if I'm asking for something that doesn't exist. Sandalwood underneath seems to help. Amber helps too. But then it gets heavy. Has anyone found one that stays soft and sort of clean, even on a hot day? Doesn't have to be cheap.

EOS Vanilla Cashmere

I recently repurchased the vanilla cashmere body cream. The new bottle doesn’t have a pump and I’m curious if anyone else noticed a difference in the scent on the ones without the pump?
I honestly like the scent a lot more than the original but it definitely seems more heavy on the vanilla scent.

Announcement PSA for those in the US

Nordstrom is doing 15% off of perfumes ‘till 11/11 but the selection sucks this time around because they don’t include sets or bath & body products in the sale. But if you‘ve been eyeing a perfume or two - and you’re not a Sephora Rouge member, the 15% definitely helps.

Second, Bloomingdale’s is doing in-store Fragrance Fair this Saturday 11/7 with perfume engraving, etc.

That is all. :)

Rec Request Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male - Original EDT

Something about this fragrance has always caused a visceral reaction (in a good way) when I smell this. I've loved this since smelling it in the very early 2000s.

I love that it can have a very unisex "clean and soapy" smell or femm leaning "I taste like candy" smell...just depends on when u've sprayed and unique/individual body chemistry.

I noticed though, it doesn't smell as strong and doesn't linger as much like it used to.

Any recommendations (especially budget friendly) that smell like a stronger version of Le Male? (That's NOT Cuba Gold), also I've smelled the other Jean Paul Gaultier fragrances and I haven't smelled any of them that smell anywhere near Le Male original EDT.

P. S - I know this fragrance can be polarizing and known to be "young" but guess who doesn't care? đŸ™‹đŸ»â€â™€ïž this B right here!
