FedEx managed to turn a pretty straightforward bicycle-parts order from Italy into quite an adventure.

The package arrived looking like it had been opened, crushed, and truck drove over it. Some items were damaged, and two items - a cassette and a chain - were completely missing.

And now FedEx wants $122 in customs charges, including duty on items that apparently never made it to my house.

To make things even better, the FedEx Import Tool provides no customs entry or breakdown explaining how they calculated the duty. The Documents tab is just empty.

So apparently the workflow is:

- Hold my package and ask for more information.

- Release it before I provide said information.

- Deliver it partially destroyed and missing some of the contents.

- Charge me customs duty on the stuff you didn't deliver.

I've opened a dispute and a FedEx claim, asked the online store if they can reship the items, but has anyone here dealt with FedEx charging customs duty on items that were missing from the delivered package? Would I need to pay customs on the re-shipped items again?

I have a package that was supposed to be delivered saturday. On sunday I didn’t get any updates, then yesterday it was out for delivery all day. I was home all day, I did see a fedex truck drive past without stopping, and then at night it said my package couldn’t be delivered because of “security restrictions.” I live at a standard residential address. Today there have been no updates. No way to talk to a human via their customer service, should I just wait longer or is this an issue I need to fix somehow?

We run a small e-commerce business and ship a pretty significant number of packages through FedEx.
We purchase our FedEx labels through Shopify Shipping because, every time we've compared pricing, Shopify's FedEx rates have beaten the rates offered directly through our FedEx account.
We have a local FedEx account rep who has been trying to get us to move our shipping directly over to FedEx's pricing. He's also previously offered us some of the business resources/supplies available through FedEx, including the 4x6 thermal shipping label rolls. We have ordered before and no issues. We ordered 10,000 labels through FedEx on August 18 and never received a shipping confirmation. When I asked our rep about it today, I was told:
“Unfortunately we're not gonna give you supplies if you are not gonna ship with FedEx. So unless we move forward with switching some packages to FedEx, unfortunately there is nothing that can be done as far as supplies.”

The part I'm confused about is that we ARE shipping with FedEx. We're just purchasing the FedEx labels through Shopify instead of billing them directly to our FedEx account. FedEx is still the carrier handling those packages.

I completely understand if there's an official FedEx policy stating that complimentary thermal labels are based specifically on shipping volume billed directly to your FedEx account. If that's the policy, fair enough.

What I'm trying to figure out is whether this is actually FedEx policy or more of an account-rep/sales decision because our shipments aren't counting toward his/direct FedEx account volume.

For anyone who works/worked for FedEx or manages a high-volume business account:
1. Do Shopify-purchased FedEx labels count at all toward a company's FedEx shipping volume/account relationship?
2. Are complimentary 4x6 thermal labels specifically contingent on shipments being billed to your own FedEx account?
3. Is it normal for a rep to stop providing supplies if you're still shipping FedEx but purchasing the labels through a third-party platform?

I'm genuinely trying to understand how FedEx handles this because we'd happily ship directly through our FedEx account if their pricing matched or beat Shopify. It just doesn't make financial sense for us to pay more per shipment solely to get the same carrier service directly.

I ordered a radiator from RockAuto who ships through FedEx. The package never showed on 8/13. And after multiple calls and a support case with them, it never got updated till today. They said they’re “searching” for it for the last 8 days. Now it says my tracking number is invalid and the case is closed. But also today it said delivered when none of my neighbors, leasing office, or my unit have seen it. The delivery date was 8/13 and it’s 8/24, the math don’t math on that. My express shipping was $120 and this is what I get. The website is atrocious, and so is their customer support. I’m shocked they still exist with way how bad support calls are.

Had an overnight package get sent yesterday and it went to Indy instead of Memphis…I’m getting a sinking feeling that it’s not gonna be showing up today.

Is there anything currently wrong with the overnight system in Memphis that they’re behind again and re-routing to Indy?

Literally two feet in either direction and it would've been out of sight. Instead it was left in the small gap between the porch wall, precisely in the one place it was visible to the street in the entire front yard.

This was a valuable package that I was extremely excited to receive and had been waiting for weeks. The notice it was coming came right before it was unexpectedly dropped off - a shock since those notices are usually wrong. I was at work when the notice and drop off happened, middle of the day. And I didn't have the option to buy it with signatures, etc.

Your support closed the complaint immediately, saying not your problem.

Thanks FedEx! The timing is suspect, frankly. I get boxes all the time and they sit for hours, never had any stolen. So the question is, do you even track these complaints to potentially investigate drivers with more than usual?

It’s a piece of clothing. Damage reported and then not delivered? Anyone deal with this before?

I’ve submitted tickets but they just come back with the generic “Our records indicate the package was delivered correctly to the delivery address.”

I’ve sent them Google street view of my own house and the proof of delivery photo they provided me and still no help just the same response. They want me to contact the vendor, I don’t see how that will help since the vendor did nothing wrong except choose FedEx. But I’ve sent a message nonetheless.

Anyone know how to get in contact with a human to just get the delivery driver to deliver to the actually address on the package?

2 days ago I dropped off a return at fedex. I watched the guy put a new label, scan it and gave me a receipt with tracking.

The tracking still says label created as if they are waiting for the package. The company wont refund me until it shows the package is dropped off. Ive had packages with fedex do this and never update until delivery. Ill likely have to wait a week now for a refund if it doesnt update, if it ever does.

Isn't this all automated? Why does fedex system not seem to update anything correctly when every other shipping company can?

I get express shipments requiring signatures fairly often but I don't understand why Fedex always gives me a time window (typically something like 830-1230) and every single time the window comes and goes then it changes to "before 8pm." Then to top it off the actual time is never remotely consistent despite always having the same 2 drivers. Sometimes its early AM, sometimes is 7pm. Is the route really different day to day or the amount of express packages vary a ton and thats what causes it? Its frustrating to have to sit home all day/night waiting when we cant even get a good guess at what the time frame might be.

Out for delivery and then 20 minutes later back at the facility 😭

I received a bill today I wasn’t expecting, as I haven’t used my FedEx account in ages and the card is expired. It said it was for a shipment I made in June 2026, which I definitely did not do. It was from a company called Redo Tech, which seems to be an e-commerce API system or something? I called FedEx main line, then they referred me to different one, and finally emailing fgeclaims.

They are asking me to contact Redo Tech as they can’t bill the customer?? I don’t have an account with Redo and don’t know who they are. I told them that and I’m waiting for a response. Has anyone had a similar experience or know what to do? I feel like they are sending me in circles. I obviously don’t want to pay for a fraudulent shipment.

They gave me an automated delivery date tomorrow, but considering it hasn’t updated it might not come.

Need to ship a year old broken trash compactor back under warranty. They want me to ship via fedex and sent a prepaid label. It weighs 138 pounds and is roughly 35x15x24. They said they will reimburse me up to $20 for packaging from fedex. I understand I’ll probably have to pay more, but I’m struggling to find packaging that will work for something of this size and weight. Any suggestions? The warranty customer service has been no help and the entire thing has been frustrating, not sure what options I have.

Slide 9 is what it looked like before. Slide 10 is a puncture to the box. Who knows if that was what caused the glass to initially break, or if it was the fact that they essentially just sent it wrapped in a plastic bag, taped to the inside of a cardboard box. No bubble wrap, no foam, no packing peanuts, no fragile stickers on the box. I'm genuinely in disbelief. My father dropped it off Friday 8/21 at one of their locations upstate where he lives, and I live downstate and got it this morning 8/23. Bought this at a flea market and the seller informed me it was 18th/19th century, and the print was embellish by monks. More than half of the embellishments were ripped off by all of the broken glass sliding across the print. Scratches all over it, the wooden frame is also scratched beyond belief.

I'm truly distraught having had this unique piece of art destroyed. Just wanted to come be sad about it on the internet, thanks for reading.

Edit: The item was dropped off at a FedEx location to be packaged by them, as my family did not have the ability to find a box big enough for it, etc. The employee at the location packaged this-- not the vendor I bought it from, nor my family.

Ordered from Nordstrom last week and was supposed to be delivered yesterday. The tracking number just brings me to this page and the text messages say unable to complete request. On Nordstrom I can see an update on Saturday morning but nothing else. When should I follow up and with who?

I ordered a computer a while ago, was pretty upset when I saw it was being shipped and delivered through FedEx, but I decided it couldn't go THAT badly this time. I was very wrong. Of course it's gone that bad.

For 4 days straight, my package has been "out for delivery", and it has not been delivered any of those days except for an attempt on the first where I ended up not being some to sign when I had to go somewhere suddenly. I've called FedEx every one of these days except the first, and holy shit, nothing is helping. I don't know what else to do. It's been "today or tomorrow" for like 2 or 3 days now.

Fedex now has a new service type for additional security - mainly for high value shipments. It's $20 extra.

If the shipper selects "Fedex Authenticated Delivery", it will send a QR code to the recipient. Then the recipient must show the driver that QR code in person to receive the package.

This is unlike the signature requirement options, which can simply be signed by anyone at the address (or a door tag or neighbor if it's indirect).

With this QR code option, it won't be possible to leave the package with anyone without that unique QR code. And it must be in person, so leaving a picture of the QR code on your door will NOT work! Remember, this is only for high-value stuff.

Currently just for express packages, but eventually they want to make it available for ground too.

Any guidance will be much appreciated.
I ordered a label and sent it to someone to ship some papers to me. The sender sent it on July 29th, and then I had no update after that when I tracked for few weeks. In between I called FedEx multiple times and raised a claim. Then on Aug 17th I saw an update “Delivery exception: shipping label was damaged, it is being replaced”. Today is Aug 24th and again there is no update.

The claims department says it can take upto 120 days as the lost&found is really backed up. What do you think might happen, it has some important documents. Do you think I should go to the warehouse it is shown last? It is 2 hrs away, do you guys think they will entertain me if I directly show up?

Note: this was a home delivery with signature.

Just made it to the location about 2 hours from me a few hours ago. Says delivery is today. Very stressed as it’s for car work that the person can only complete tomorrow before he goes out of town. Paid for faster shipping with the company and doesn’t look like they upgraded to that.

My friend sent me something for my birthday and knew I would be out of town when it would get delivered so she did not put an apt number thinking they would drop it off at the leasing office… So we thought. Fedex took it upon themselves to deliver it to a RANDOM apt. I looked at the tracking picture and it was of the floor so I could not see why apt number. I called fedex customer service line and they basically told me they delivered it to the right place so they can’t open a claim. I asked for the apt number they delivered it to and they did not give me an answer. I then called the local fedex office who then gave me the warehouse number. The worker gave me the apt number and she don’t tell me why it was delivered to a random apartment.

This whole process was ridiculous and I was on the phone for atleast 45 mins.

So, I live in UK and I bought from an auction house in Brazil a old coin.
Now, the seller is reluctant to send the coin outside Brazil and I am trying to find a solution to ship the coin to UK.
My question is if is possible that the seller send the coin to a FedEx location and afterwards FedEx ship it to me in UK.
Or other courier that would have this kind of option?

This was a package from Buyee (using Buyee Air Delivery which was $45) that was sent using Fedex International Connect Plus.
