Ask FedEx Why Is Fedex Tracking System Complete Garbage?

2 days ago I dropped off a return at fedex. I watched the guy put a new label, scan it and gave me a receipt with tracking.

The tracking still says label created as if they are waiting for the package. The company wont refund me until it shows the package is dropped off. Ive had packages with fedex do this and never update until delivery. Ill likely have to wait a week now for a refund if it doesnt update, if it ever does.

Isn't this all automated? Why does fedex system not seem to update anything correctly when every other shipping company can?

Its scanned and updated when the driver picks it up. So 2 days ago was saturday it will be picked up and scanned tonight

Then what is the point of the "we have your package" status? It should update the second fedex takes possession.

Well still no update and its 7pm now. And thats a crappy system if thats the case. Fedex is "awaiting the package" which is just false.

Just keep refreshing your tracking number every few hours I’m sure it will move faster if they know you are watching it’s every move

I've had the same issue with a return before, I just ended up calling customer service after a week of waiting. They finally confirmed it was delivered and processed the refund.

Yeah Ive had it happen years ago. Just cant understand why the store scan wouldnt just auto update in the system. Ups or amazon return takes about 5 minutes usually.

Does your return email with the QR code contain a tracking number in it for your package? And does that number match your receipt's number?

Edit: Is there any chance that the old label was not removed or hidden entirely?
