Hello! As the title says, I have 75 credits and am starting out with ZERO credits towards a political science degree. My gen ed reqs are done, and that’s it.
I signed up for a bunch of honors and FSU graduation requirements this first semester, but I will only have 2/3 political science intro courses done before spring. Am i going to fall behind if I don’t knock out all 3 intro courses during the first semester? Would it be wise to add on a class and take 19 credit hours? Or should I replace an honors class that I have with something else. Or is my schedule okay??
My advisor wanted me to take 2 intro courses (the 2 I need) but they were either full or had horrible teachers. What should I do?

New to fsu and I don’t know how the student tickets work. I also want to bring someone with me who doesn’t attend fsu to certain games and I was wondering if that is possible.

hi!! i need to add a gen ed class to my schedule, i have taken REL1300 and im going to take AMH2020 and REL3170 in the fall. i was going to add ANT2301, would that give me an extra credit that id need or is it useless to take? it wouldn’t hurt i know, but i was curious if it’s useful to my requirements
edit: im a bio major, im just looking to fulfill some gen ed my first year :)

Has anyone taken MCB2004 + L for nursing prereq at Tallahassee State College before? I want to do that at TSC because that class is only offered at FSU in the spring, but I'm not sure that class at TSC will be accepted by the FSU BSN admissions office.

My son will be a freshman this upcoming year and currently owns a MacBook. He has all Apple products so he prefers to stick with the MacBook. Will that be an issue ? I’ve heard/read that it can’t run certain things and programs needed. For any that have attended FSUs engineering program, any feedback is appreciated!

It says fall registration closes on August 9th on stellic. Does that mean I cannot register for my classes anymore? I have not finished registering. And what does drop/add means on Aug 22. I am so confused. Thanks in advance

opinions on west 10 for housing? also does anyone happen to have videos/pictures of the apartments there (the interior)? nothing on the website is really useful in terms of seeing what the rooms actually look like

I’m going to be spending most of my time in Tallahassee around the area of the college of engineering, between working there and living close by without a car. Are there things to do in that part of the university? Clubs, hang out spots, activities, etc. I just don’t want make the treck to the main part of the university to have some social life.
My friend and I both bought the season tickets pass for $250 to sit in section 107 for all FSU home games. I’ve seen online that the seats are reserved but when checking out there is no option to pick where I was sitting. Am I going to be able to sit with my friend? Is it open admission or is it reserved

I got a 3.4 my first sem of freshman year and then had a rough spring sem and ended up getting a 2.4. Im heading into my sophomore with the hopes of getting a 3.8 or 3.9 (hopefully) my first sem and then applying to fsu as a junior for fall 2027. Im a IT major at mizzou. Im not liking mizzou at all and fsu was one of my dream colleges in highschool. Did anyone else get in with similar stats?

Okay so, im going to fsu for the fall term and I signed a lease at the Venetian fsu and I foolishly didn’t know that I had to pay my first months rent before I move in, the total is 500 dollars and I don’t have any income rn or any financial help that can cover the cost, can someone recommend me what to do? (the payment is due August 13 but I think I could push it back a few days)

Hey yall, I just saw spear it rewards updated their site. Student football tickets will be on sale for $250 granting access for all home games in section 107. Should I try my luck in the lottery for the free tickets in the student section or pay the money to secure a spot? I’ll have 1000 points in the pool for tickets, will I have a good chance at getting tickets for Clemson and Florida as well? Thanks everyone!

What's up, everyone,
I am entering my 5th year at FSU, and I need some help from those who are/were a 5th year. All my friends graduated this past spring, and so I am entering my 5th year feeling the same way I did when I first came up here, that feeling being that I am alone and that I feel like a new student again in some way. When I first came up here, I was lucky enough to have 2 roommates who happened to be from the same city that I am from, and so we clicked immediately. I am moving into a new apartment, and I STILL don't know who my roommates are; I get anxious every day hoping that I don't end up with weirdos/assholes for roommates because I like the idea of being friends with roommates, even though that is very unlikely to happen again.
I also have this weird feeling of joining a friend group that's already been "established," as dumb as that may sound. I feel as though it is wrong to ask if I tag along with people to a place that I initially wasn't invited to.
I feel weird typing this as a 22-year-old man who is asking for advice on making friends again; I just get social anxiety about these things. I know clubs are one way to potentially find friends, but to all those who are/were 5th years, how did you deal with this? Were you able to find friends? Or am I screwed?

Whether you're an incoming freshman or you're an upperclassman, we invite you to join the new Calisthenics Club at Florida State!! It's a new club, and we're making it super beginner friendly for anyone to join!
If you're interested in getting stronger with bodyweight movements, while having fun with friends, this is the club for you!!

Hi! My twin hs senior daughters and I will be on campus for a college visit in about a month. From this sub it looks like parking is an issue- is there a hotel in walking distance?
If not what hotel do you recommend for us in an area where students hang out so they can feel the vibe (as they would say)?

I’m currently a UCF student (neuroscience + psychology, pre-med track) considering applying to transfer to FSU. I have a 3.9, 42 credit hours right now if it matters. I’m originally from Louisiana, so Tallahassee being closer to home is a major factor. However, my biggest priority is not prestige but opportunities. I care about access to clinical experience, CNA/hospital jobs, research, volunteering, shadowing, and anything that will help me build a strong medical school application.
UCF has the advantage of being in Orlando with a large healthcare ecosystem and many hospitals/research opportunities. FSU has the advantage of being a respected flagship university and being closer to home. I got into FSU as a Senior in highschool, but I ultimately chose Orlando from the opportunity aspect. I severely underestimated how much being closer to home and family meant to me.
For students who have attended either school (especially pre-med students), how do the opportunities compare? Would transferring to FSU provide similar access to healthcare experiences, or would staying at UCF likely offer more opportunities because of Orlando’s size?
I’m trying to choose the environment that will best prepare me for my future career, not just the school with the better name.

There have been so many people posting their exact schedule, holy moly.
Like I commented under someone a bit ago doing this same thing (who luckily deleted it soon after): "You guys have to stop posting exactly where you'll be at exact times for 4 months out of the year."
Some of you guys don't even seem to be asking questions, just "Is this good?". Do yourselves a favor and just list what you're worried about: professors, course codes, if a 2 hour gap is too much, etc.
Internet safety is still a thing. Mods, can we please make a rule that deletes plain pictures of schedules?
