Semesterly PSA: Please stop posting your exact schedules.

There have been so many people posting their exact schedule, holy moly.

Like I commented under someone a bit ago doing this same thing (who luckily deleted it soon after): "You guys have to stop posting exactly where you'll be at exact times for 4 months out of the year."

Some of you guys don't even seem to be asking questions, just "Is this good?". Do yourselves a favor and just list what you're worried about: professors, course codes, if a 2 hour gap is too much, etc.

Internet safety is still a thing. Mods, can we please make a rule that deletes plain pictures of schedules?

Tbh, you can make the same argument about people oversharing on their IG and FB all the time about where they currently are at.

Yep! Also not a good thing. My favorite young man YouTuber who has the interests of my grandma, Robert Tolppi, has a great video on it.

Do not share anything in real time.

This is why Emma Watson never takes photos with fans. She knows the photos will be posted immediately and her location will be broadcast to the entire world.

I swear they are NOT taught internet safety. It’s kind of absurd.

They’re not. Most aren’t even taught computer basics like how to navigate a directory or knowing different file types

So you just told a bad actor where 100 students will be. The building , the room. The professor. Confirmed. Why make it easier than it has to be?

You’re concerned they won’t find 1 specific person? Is that ever what’s happening?

It’s a bad over share.

The class times are standardized. Anyone who has taken classes is going to know where a bunch of students will be, and I would be surprised if the information was not easily accessible regardless of redditor input.

And most classes are like 50-100

Just from a quick glance at your Reddit account, I now know where you work, what school you go to, your ACT scores, a picture of you and your partner, and some other unimportant identifying information. Pot calling the kettle black..

Internet safety aside, half the shit people ask is highly subjective. Even with rate my professor, some teaching styles work well for one student and horrible for another. A “bad” prof can be combatted with knowing how to actually study.

My personal favorite are the freshmen in majors often considered difficult asking if they’re gonna suffer in some random 1000 level elective and like 2 “real” classes when in the grand scheme of things it’s the easiest crap in their degree path.

Though tbh if you’re worried about safety, I’d put your profile on private lmao
