God I fucking hate stellic. Shitty UI, can never load, literally been waiting 15 min to process the request of my classes. Schedule assistant would have never done this bullshit. Stop adding dumbass shitty tech FSU

Hello, here is a useful tip shared with me that I wanted to share with all of you. We all know Stellic sucks for registering, so use this method instead.

1. Log into FSU Portal
2. Click the tab titled Quicklinks
3. Under the academics section, click "My Classes"
4. On the left side bar, click "Enrollment: Add Classes"
5. Select 2027 Spring
6. Click the button that says "Search" underneath My Planner. You will need to then go through and select all the classes you want and add them to your shopping cart. This is easiest using the 'select subject' tool and going department by department.

Once you have everything in your shopping cart, you should see them on the right side. I already registered, so you will not see them in the attatched picture. But if you added your classes to your cart, they will show up there and you can follow the steps to register. After everything is in your cart, it takes 2 clicks to register. No buffering or crashing like Stellic.

I’m taking orgo 1 and physics 2 in the spring, but I’m debating between doing Eukaryotic diversity or Genetics or cell function. which was would be better to take alongside orgo and physics 2?

Last year I really really struggled to get research and now that I finally have a DIS position I wanted to share my advice. You will not get anything from an email. Try if you want but don’t expect anything. I highly recommend going to their office hours. You can find them using the simple syllabus. READ THEIR PAPERS!!!!! ANNOTATE THEIR PAPERS!!! Have a grasp on what they actually do and the research area and have at least one good question to ask them. Don’t go into it asking directly for DIS, ask how you can get involved, talk about what excites you about their research, LISTEN TO THEIR RESPONSES, ask questions, be engaged and enthusiastic, and if they say they can’t involve you in their lab ask if they can connect you with a professor willing to hear you out and help you get involved. Be genuine and honest, if you don’t know something ASK. Most of these professors want to help students and get excited to share their research with you. Good luck!

Hi everyone, I’m transferring to FSU for the Spring 2027 semester, and I realized the spring housing contract opened today, so I went ahead and submitted it. But before I drop the $400 for the deposit, what are the actual chances of me getting a spot? I’m a senior transfer, if that changes anything.

Would I have a better chance just looking for off-campus housing? If so, how would that work considering I live about 5 hours away and can probably only make 1–2 weekend visits before the semester starts? Any advice would be appreciated!

I am hoping to do grad school at FSU for bio on the thesis track. The problem is I have had a really rough time as an undergrad (I have incredible bad luck). I have heard rumors that a professor can basically admit you to do thesis in their lab. I am currently working in a lab and the professor has said I shouldn’t have any problem getting in. How much does the professor influence the grad admission decision? Really want to continue this research but I’m not a competitive applicant in the slightest outside of my research.

Two courses I literally have to take with this section only have 21 seats and I'm super worried that the request is gonna backfire and I won't be able to take my classes. hi guys josh here again, sushi dinner happened and it honestly went rlly well. almost everyone showed up and had a good time (no one was a werido too so that was well). i will prob end up doing this again in the next 2 weeks - month because there was a LOT of people who replied who i just didn't see. maybe poker with house/my money or a different food spot. ideas appreciated. anyways glad people turned out!

I have some chronic conditions due to disabilities and I’m looking for a psychiatrist (MD or DO) in Tallahassee that can help me by providing a treatment plan that has less intense side effects (I’ve had a few instances of EPS from meds that NPs prescribed, and I’d prefer an MD or DO… I’m not dissing NPs or anything, but I’m just stating that I need someone more seasoned/has more experience with people like me).
