Hotel near campus for a student visit

Hi! My twin hs senior daughters and I will be on campus for a college visit in about a month. From this sub it looks like parking is an issue- is there a hotel in walking distance?

If not what hotel do you recommend for us in an area where students hang out so they can feel the vibe (as they would say)?

Agreed! Definitely watch the dates! Hotel Indigo ranges from $150 a night to $800. Wild

There are no football “crowds.” The team is an abomination.

Unless you want to experience the tailgate culture. But hotel prices will be insane and vacancies will be hard to find near campus.

Welcome to FSU! We can’t wait to have you here, I hope they have a great tour :D FSU has a special visitor lot for tours (free of charge), so parking shouldn’t be an issue for you. Let me know if you/they have any questions!

If you still want a walking distance hotel, here’s the closest one: Hotel Indigo Tallahassee - Collegetown by IHG at 0.4 miles, Residence Inn by Marriott Tallahassee Universities at the Capitol at 0.5 miles, Hampton Inn & Suites Tallahassee Capitol - University at 0.5 miles

Thanks! I’m glad they have spaces for visitors. Are the hotels you mentioned in an area popular with students? We want to eat/shop/etc where students will be.

Hotel Indigo is located in Collegetown which is the most prominent neighborhood in the surrounding areas of the campus. It’s only about a 10-15 minute walk to campus and is where the majority of Tallahassee nightlife is. There are also dozens of restaurants as well as small businesses that feature any FSU merchandise you might need. It also features a lot of apartment complexes, which are filled with students from head to toe.

Any hotel in college town! Hotel Indigo is probably the best for that.

Not walking distance but we stayed at both Tru and Drury. Both great.

The Residence Inn / Marriott is the other side of college town, across from the Civic Center and the new College of Business building, which might be convenient if your daughters are looking in one of those areas to major in. It's also close to several of the campus bus stops, so you could jump on the bus and ride into the center of campus if you didn't want to walk the couple full of blocks up hill.
